Full textSummary : This thesis lies within the scoop of the introduction of telematics (data processing), minitel videotex, through telematics coupling telecommunications, data processing and networks, for the exchange of data and the internet in Gabonese society. This thesis is presented in the form of a general reflexion on the social problems generated by the rise of communication and information technologies, through the capacity of the new electronic media. It has s an aim principal the analysis of the changes which touch the forms of representation and perception that the ways of life and the practices in Gabon

Full textThis thesis wants to fill up a gap about actual telematics studies; indeed most of the videotex investigations are quantitative and they only give information about the use and schedule of minitel, a very few of them really concern a social study in depth of the users. Our analysis consists in describing typologies of different telematics users in the languedoc roussillon area (an area where telematics was just starting to develop when this study began); two typologie have been point out, one concerning the owners and non owners of minitel, the other concerning people producing telematis data-services. This research wishes to be in depth, it tends to revaels for each types its motivations, representations, attitudes, thinking patterns, uses a and types identification. We have wished to prove that it was possible to establish typologies with qualitative method on the basis of semi-direct interwiews 12 different positionning attitudes have appeared concerning telematics public typology; as far as telematics producers are concerned, five types exist. The interpretation of the results shows that the positioning attitude regarding telematics can be made in two differents ways, either by a positive projection of coming out of crisis fantasms or else by a negative projection of the fear of our society's fall. So that minitel appears as reflection of the fantasms of our society. What comes forth in the videotex system is not the message, communication or content, but rather the terminal object itself, modern fetish fortelling a new are

In the first one, a technical survey of the telematic resources available in france, such as mainframes, minitel, telephonic links and transpac network, or standard software is done. An overview of the french norm for videotex is supplied. In the second part and according to the main axis of objects and tools typology, a classification of the possible uses of telematics in education is set up, applied mostly to mathematics, in connection with some eventual on line data services dedicated or linked to a large establishment of a universitary kind. The chief problems, technical or didactical ones, are reviewed and some solutions are drawn. The third part consists of a critical analysis of the principal on line data services actually in france acting in the feld of mathematics teaching. Appended are thoroughest investigations of norms antiope, iso 6429 or minitel 1b some programs and problem specifications

Full textThis study of telematics vocabulary is based on two theoretical approaches. The first one, discourse analysis, deals with the discourse of knowledge transmission. To explore this discourse, lexical entries, such as minitel or telematics, are selected. Their analyses examine the concept of designation paradigm. By retrieving semantic information from a specialized discourse to a popularized discourse, a semantic of difference in the context of discursive alteration is evident. The second approach, lexicology, stresses neologic processes and especially the composition which is based on the concept of associativity. The study of telematics neologisms emphasizes the combination between composition and abbreviation which appears under the form of portmanteau words, the setting of initials and the suppression of the preposition. Popularization comes back regularly in this research. First, it is present in the discourse of scientific popularization

It defines the field concerned by compunication before analysing the impact of this technology on space implementation of economic activites, firm structure and social activities. Technical problems, legal and economic issues, psychosociological hang up are all factors that can hinder the development of compunication. Data from 43 firms are used to support this research

Full textWhat is at stake in the actual crisis of capitalism? Although the dynamics of the capitalism lies in the innovation by individual capital, the capitalistic mode of production develops by restructuring its process of social reproduction and its accumulation system. The capitalistic development accompanies Juglar cycles with cyclical crisis as well as Kondratieff cycles with structural crisis. The actual crisis is determinate as the crisis of the accumulation system of the fourth Kondratieff cycle, which main character is internationalization, multinationalization and disappearance of American hegemony. But it signifies in essence the crisis of the ford production system. This latter falls into a crisis, because its production system not only causes a crisis of labor, thus results in lowering productivity, but also is no more appropriate to the highly diversified needs of consumers. Therefore, the capitalistic production system needs the radical reorganization of production and labor, and at the same time, a flexibility of production system. Although information innovation is important, it does not mean a simple computerization. It seems obvious that Toyota production system and network of value added services constitute two essential elements of this information innovation. And the cybernetization of our society by capital will follow as a result of such a development

Full textThis thesis presents a general reflexion on the social phenomena produced by the progress of the new technologies such as information and communication, the influence of the media. Its main purpose is the analysis of the mutations bearing, not only on the aspects of representation and perception, but also on the modes and activities of life. If an attempt is made to transfert these theories on the media, the right proceeding would consist in grasping which ruptures this evolution introduces into our apprehension of space and time, as well as into the statute of the image, seen from a historical point of view. This geneological procedure allows an understanding of the modifications which affect, since the renaissance, the ways of seeing and perceving the world, in reference to a type of image (paintings, photography, cineme, television and computer system). This procedure also emphasizes the ways in which social exchange modifies the aspects and meanings in accordance to the generalisation of the system of the media. The empirical investigation conducted on social customs relative to the telephone, television and video, confirms these tranformations in a pragmatical manner from a "micro-sociological" angle, pointing out the deep-rooted elements of stability and resistance and the diversity of these practises, according to groups and their environnment. This analysis, far from current prediction stresses the complexities and ambiguities of this phenomena, and proves in a specific manner the activities of the society in which we live

Full textThe conclusion of this research study reveals the following key elements : - considering that telematics is a relatively new technology, its applications for retailing have not yet been completely defined. Currently the field is constituded by two parts : the first a core represented by videotex, and the second, an ensemble of products or services such as teleconferencing, videodisks, teletex - the impact of telematics on retailing will have an effect in the following areas : the creation of new channels of distribution ; teleshopping and homeshopping ; a readjustement of the roles of the current actors involved in retailing, and more specifically a reinforcement of the producer's position in relationship with the retailers ; the appearence of new operators such as telecom- munications ; and the creation of new knov-how such as ? "assemblage of telematised services" an important fundamental uncertainly remains concerning the rapidity with which the consumer will begin to use this new technology, the key element which will determine the real impact of telematics in retailing

With the advent of the use of plastic money, which constitutes a new means of payment, the rules which govern the law of evidence no longerapply. The statute of July 12, 1980 constitutes the current law of evidence but it still insists on the notion of the written document whose supremacy it asserts. The use of these new means of payment calls for an adaptation of the law of evidence. This "adapted" law cannot be laid down by any contract nor by a judge but requires legislation

Full textThe sense of professional telematics goes beyond the material technology to englobe a multi-faceted reality, a "concept" in the marketing sense of the word. France telecom who has the main responsability for offering this service (in the form of videotex and teletel) makes use of the concept both in its discourse and its strategy. Neither the technical determinism nor the social determinism explain this construction. The method adapted consists in finding in a genealogical perspective, the manner in which the discourse employed by france telecom incorporates and makes use of certain aspects of social practice while mainteniring its strategy which is to develop minitel into an universal toal. This evolution, far from being linear, consists of reality which can only be defined clearly by placing them in the context : modification of the terminology, hybridization of the technology

Full textThis study intends to produce a learning method to help foreign learners to read texts from telematics language. The idea is that this kind of language can hinder the comprehension of foreigners, because it contains a lot of elliptical phrases. The research is based on the one hand on an analysis of what is reading in a foreign language in particular, and in general of which are the mental processes that govern the action of reading. On the other hand the telematics language's characteristics are studied, and more particularly the fact that a lot of its phrases are elliptical. A method, that takes the principle of centration on the learner in account, and that proposes activities to treat effectively the texts in question, is developed

Full textIn this group of publications, science pictures (photographs, movies pictures, radiographs, computers pictures, scannings. . . ) are examined through a lot of questions. How pictures can give us informations about the world while they are materialized subjectivities? How can they are an access to knowledge while they need a preliminary adherence to work? Why science use photographs on sight in the middle of the nineteenth century while it receives new cinematograph pictures with hesitations fifty five years after? These paradoxes hide a true strategy of proof. Pictures are fundamentally fluid; they bring no truth by themselves. They exist only when they are revealed by legitimacy and rationality systems. But this significance itself is never acquired definitively: passages from science to art, changes of pictures status are evidence of that. The results of these investigations which concern pictures of the ninetieth and the twentieth centuries bring to a new understanding of signification and functions of science pictures, uses of pictures as witnesses, nature of image in general. Asking the "new picturing technologies", these researches open the way to an archeology of novelty

In fact, a program can be always divided into two parts: the fist is concerned with a definition of data structure, and the second is concerned with a series of operations about the program traitement. For theses different parts, a generator of applications can provide two models: the model of definition data and the model of definition traitement. After studying the generalization structure of data, we have analyzed the generalization of traitement process which includes four groups: 1. The generalization of program compositions, 2. The generalization of traitement process, 3. The generalization of basic instructions and 4. The generalization of editions

Full textThis thesis is meant to analyse why an experience aiming at giving the rural population useful information as to their rights and administrative procedures thanks to telematic failed, it is based upon the assuption that, in order to assess an information system, it is necessary to refer it to the target social group, communication considered as a "global social phenemenon". From that view point, the first (theorical) part is devoted to a criticism of bakhtine's theories in the light of the knowledge acquired in linguistic and sociology. It eventually defines the communicative situation as the negotiation of an intersection between the reference systems (outlooks) derived from the transmitter's and thereceiver's habitus. Therefore, the second part goes into the various conceptions the actors - the transmitter (the organism instigating the operation) and the receiver - have about administrative information and its usefulness. It brings to light a typology of the country people concerning that information and its conformity with the social structure. The third part analyses how the system workse. The plan drawn up turns out to be contradictory to the institutional sources and the informal networks. More profoundy, it calls into question the ways of thinking and the means of sociability among country people, as a symbolical violence act. The difference between practical and exchange values leads us to regard information as a social behaviour as much as a means of solving problem

Full textThis research shows the absolute necessity of multirefential approach in situations and facts investigations (educational). The object is there studied in its complexity, heterogeneity, opacity. Any innovation is, potentially, an institutional analyser. Here, the initial aims of a telematics innovation might induce a parental intervention into the daily pedagogic action. This provoked strong resistances and conflicts who fed to abandon the initial project. A new project was stated over by only a few teahers on a wholly different bases (v. 3). A multireferential perspect inscribes (v. 1) educational system in the wider social system: the notion of crisis is enlighted by those of edcuational form & system. A critical approach of social change and of innovation leads to rigorous dicrimination between them. In this genral framework, the polysemic notion of "etablissement" will be analysed through three aspects : institution organization group, dicriminated for intelligilility, but interlaced in everiday life. The notion of "projet d'ecole" (polysemic) is linked with the precedent. The teacher function - agent actor- is approached in a socio-temporal perspective. In v. 2, self-concept notion is studied as also interactions person technics imaginary and social pratices. Interactions person soeen-machines are interpreted by narcissism. Telematics development is skached. Personal implications always emerge

Full textThe present scientific and technical revolution corresponds to a mutation of the economic system at a certain level of development in which advanced technologies biotechnologies and new information technologies - play an important part. The environmental crisis actually breaks out at the time when the force of man's intervention is rapidly growing. Because of this crisis, the laws governing the reproduction of natural systems have to be respected. Thus, economic activities should be organized according to these laws. The environmental crisis strongly reveals itself with technical progress and pheno- menons are spreading out in the time and space. In order to reverse this trend, men have to respect the regulation and reproduction mechanisms of natural systems. In this view, advanced technologies play a major role. Actually, the aim of this research is to assess how these technologies can - or cannot - contribute to the insertion of man in the set of reserves and regulations of natural systems and to the coevolutive escalation of man with its environment, i. E. To reconcily the econo- my of man and ecology. Therefore, the impact of these technologies on the regulation and the reproduction of economic systems in interdependance with their natural environments should be studied according to the two modes of insertion as above

Interactive television and second generation telematics) More specifically, we are concerned with the server-push information services (i. E. Distributed dynamic and broadcast information sources) to be deployed in heteroyenous environments with shared ressources and destinated to users having different information needs and preferences. In this context, they are a lot of possible aspects to personalize. Here we focus on two particular related aspects : structure-based information filtering and personalization of contents presentation modalities. The techniques to achieve these personalization aspects are tightly related to the design of a given information source. Our approach to personalization is based on the definition of a conceptual data model, HB_Model, composed of : 1) a base model to represent documents organization and internal structure in video interactive sources, 2) a versionning model, HB_Versions, to represents documents contents with multiple alternative representation forms or modalities, and 3) a model for wiews definition, HB_Views, to represent relatively stable users information needs. Personalized information delivery from a given server - based on structure criteria - is archived by the materialization of individual users' views specifications using newly available information on this server. Personalization of contents representation modalitics is archived by the intentional specification of documents contents configuration in the form of a CSP (Constraint Satisfaction Problem) which reflects the constraints of the interaction and presentation contexts caracteristics on the choice of the presentation modality for each content and garantees the coherence of presentation modalities combinations. Finally, we show how our propositions articulate and fit into the architecture of a personalized, server-push interactive video information service
