In order to answer this question, a literature study research method was used with research objects consisting of three empirical studies related to Kelor Tourism Village, Tembi Tourism Village, and Pentingsari Tourism Village. Data collection techniques in this study, namely by editing, organizing, and finding, with the results of the study being 1) there are tourist villages in DIY that do not yet have good enough tourist packages so that mentoring must continue to be carried out in order to be able to present unique and attractive forms of tourist packages; 2) tourist villages in DIY must continue to highlight their characteristics in order to have a clear identity so that it can facilitate branding and promotion that will be carried out; 3) based on the three empirical studies, it is known that tourist villages in DIY have not optimally utilized the use of the internet and social media to promote and brand their tourist attractions; and 4) tourism village managers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta need to be given training or workshops related to the use of the internet and social media.

Abstract:
This article examines recovery strategies in post-COVID-19 tourism villages in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, utilising a rural tourism resilience approach involving multi-stakeholder participation. This qualitative study collected data through interviews, literature, social media, and local news online observations. The data obtained were then analysed with the help of a code from NVivo 12 Plus to visualise the multi-stakeholder network in the five tourism village recovery strategies through the sociogram network, group queries, and concept mapping queries. The results of this study reveal the following: First, the five tourist villages have different ways of getting back on their feet and getting more substantial for a massive recovery. Second, all government levels strongly support accelerating the five tourist villages' recovery via various media promotions of the four (Tembi, Kakilangit, Kebonagung, and Kampung Santan), except for Lopati's tourism village destinations. In addition, the two villages, in terms of the resilience of social networks, mostly need support in increasing institutional capacity (Kampung Santan and Lopati), fostering collaboration, and requiring creativity. Therefore, post-COVID, mechanisms for development and new ideas in two tourist villages (Lopati and Kampung Santan) were relatively noticeable. Some tourism villages still need leaders for programmes and activities. Further, the government's persistence in popularising tourist villages requires further improvement through media promotion, tourism awareness groups, and participation in the tertiary sector.

Abstract:
Abstract Tourism plays a significant role in Indonesia’s economy, with village-based tourism emerging as an alternative that promotes local culture and economic empowerment. One such destination is Tembi Tourism Village in Yogyakarta, which offers authentic Javanese cultural experiences. However, despite its potential, rural tourism faces challenges in adopting digital marketing effectively. This study examines the impact of digital marketing strategies on tourist engagement and visit intentions, with perceived challenges as a moderating factor. A quantitative approach was used, collecting data from 245 respondents who had engaged with Tembi’s digital content. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. Results show that digital marketing positively influences tourist engagement, which in turn significantly affects visit intention. Additionally, digital marketing has a direct effect on visit intention. However, perceived challenges negatively moderate this relationship, indicating that barriers such as financial constraints and limited digital literacy weaken the impact of digital marketing on attracting visitors. The study highlights the importance of optimized digital marketing strategies in enhancing rural tourism’s online presence and engagement. Practical recommendations include improving digital content quality, enhancing infrastructure, and increasing community training in digital marketing to maximize the tourism potential of Tembi Tourism Village.
