The objective of the project was to examine if it was possible to develop a low-cost temperature sensor using dual fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). The intention was to use one FBG as a reference and let the other FBG function as the sensor. The study shows that it is possible to characterize the temperature sensitivity of each FBG and use the reference to sweep over the applicable spectrum to find the Bragg-wavelength of the sensor.
