Abstract: In the past era the towns were formed by settlements of people around their place of work. The workers used to construct temporary residences as close to their workplace such as factories and industries to reduce travelling distances. These temporary residences eventually converted into permanent residences and in the same way entire towns were established. Due to lack of planning and haphazard uncontrolled land usage various problems started to grow in these towns. This project focuses on one such town named Malegaon in Nashik district in Maharashtra. This seasonal rink operates November–-March each winter season and is erected over municipal basketball courts. Residences in multiple municipalities border the rink and are potentially affected by rink noise, including amplified music, Zamboni operation, whistles, hockey sticks on ice, and hockey pucks impacting boards. Pre- and post-noise control data are presented that show the effect of temporary measures applied in this challenging environment.

The necessity for the spread of student residential facilities has been fuelled by several factors, including the increase in the number of university students, the proliferation of university campuses, the expansion of educational offerings to accommodate a wide range of interests, and the increasing mobility of students, researchers, and lecturers. This latter factor plays a crucial role in the definition of these buildings. The temporary character of collective residences is to

Presence of recirculation zones, and low, high, and oscillatory wall shear stresses have been suggested to be important fluid dynamic factors causing development and progress of atherosclerosis. Our study was motivated to develop fluid mechanical indices between residence time of blood particles in arteries and atherosclerosis. In rigid models of stenosed arteries with 75% area reduction, trajectories of blood particles were numerically computed and used to determine local volumetric residence time (VRT) of platelets. Th

Abstract:
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched an offensive against Ukraine simultaneously in the north, east and south of the country. Thus, Russian troops expanded their temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories, which began in 2014. Millions of Ukrainian citizens, including indigenous peoples and national minorities, found themselves in the temporarily occupied territories. Residents of those regions are suffering a lack of food, utilities and medical care, and live under the pressure of the Russian troops, namely are deprived of the right to express their opposition to the invasion by detaining

Ontario long-term care (LTC) home residents have experienced disproportionately high morbidity and mortality, both from COVID-19 and from the conditions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. There are several measures that could be effective in preventing COVID-19 outbreaks, hospitalizations, and deaths in Ontario’s LTC homes, if implemented. First, temporary staffing could be minimized by improving staff working conditions. Second, homes could be further decrowded by a continued disallowance of three- and four-resident rooms and additional temporary housing for the most crowded homes. Third,

Abstract:
The National Post-acute and Long-term Care Study (NPALS) provided preliminary estimates of Adult Day Services Center (ADSC) operating statuses in 2020. This report provides updated estimates from 2022 to compare centers that were physically open with services provided “onsite only,” to open or temporarily closed centers that provided services onsite, at participants’ residences, or virtually. Operating status estimates are compared by U.S. Census region, metropolitan statistical area status, Medicaid-licensure, and number of enrolled participants.

Abstract:
The economics literature increasingly recognizes the importance of migration and its ties with many other aspects of development and policy. Examples include the role of international remittances (Harrison et al, 2003) or those immigrant-links underpinning the migration-trade nexus (Gould, 1994). More recently Walmsley and Winters (2005) utilised a Global Migration model (GMig) to demonstrate that lifting restrictions on the movement of natural persons would significantly increase global welfare with the majority of benefits accruing to developing countries. Active transportation can play an important role in promoting more physically active and positive public health outcomes. While walking and biking provide significant physical health benefits, their modal share remains low. As a new form of micromobility service, shared e-scooters can enhance the suite of options available in cities to promote active transportation and fill in the gaps when walking or biking are not preferred. Although e-scooters show potential as a mode of transportation, it is unclear whether people will adopt the technology for everyday use. Furthermore, shared micromobilit

This project addressed the prediction of daily intake in grazing cattle using methodologies, models and experiments that integrate pasture structure and ingestive behavior. The broad objective was to develop concepts of optimal foraging that predicted ingestive behavior and instantaneous intake rate in single and multi-patch environments and extend them to the greater scales of time and space required to predict daily intake. Specific objectives included: to determine how sward structure affects the shape of patch depletion curves, to determine if the basic components of ingestive behavior of

Breeding bird surveys were initiated on Wilson’s Creek National Monument, Missouri, in 2008 to assess temporal changes in the species composition and abundance of birds on the park and to improve our understanding of relationships between breeding birds and their habitat and the effects of management actions, such as invasive plant species control and tree thinning, on bird populations. Birds were sampled using point counts with 38 variable circular plots located on a systematic grid of 400 x 400-m cells (originating from a random start point).
