The tensor programming abstraction is a foundational paradigm which allows users to write high performance programs via a high-level imperative interface. Recent work on sparse tensor compilers has extended this paradigm to sparse tensors (i.e., tensors where most entries are not explicitly represented). With these systems, users define the semantics of the program and the algorithmic decisions in a concise language that can be compiled to efficient low-level code. However, these systems still require users to make complex decisions about program structure and memory layouts to write efficient

Two new programs, MTENSOR and TENSOR, hosted on the open-access website known as the Bilbao Crystallographic Server, are presented. The programs provide automatically the symmetry-adapted form of tensor properties for any magnetic or non-magnetic point group or space group. The tensor is chosen from a list of 144 known tensor properties gathered from the scientific literature or, alternatively, the user can also build a tensor that possesses an arbitrary intrinsic symmetry. Four different tensor types are considered: equilibrium, transport, optical and nonlinear optical susceptibility tensors.

Domain-specific, fixed-function units are becoming increasingly common in modern processors. As the computational demands of applications evolve, the capabilities and programming interfaces of these fixed-function units continue to change. NVIDIA’s Hopper GPU architecture contains multiple fixed-function units per compute unit, including an asynchronous data movement unit (TMA) and an asynchronous matrix multiplication unit (Tensor Core). The compiler is only 540 lines of code, but we show that its performance can match both the TACO compiler for sparse tensor algebra and the SQLite and DuckDB query processing l

The lack of work-conjugacy has been either overlooked or believed to cause only negligible errors. While enticing, FHE has two key challenges that limit its applicability: it has high performance overheads (10,000× over unencrypted computation) and it is extremely hard to program. Recent hardware accelerators and algorithmic improvements have reduced FHE’s overheads and enabled large applications to run under FHE. These large applications exacerbate FHE’s programmability challenges. Writing FHE programs directly is hard because FHE schemes expose a restr

Abstract:
In this paper a method for the detection of initial stress tensor is proposed. The method is based on measuring distances between some pairs of points located on the wall of underground opening in the excavation process. This methods is based on the solution of eighteen auxiliary problems in the theory of elasticity with force boundary conditions. The optimal location of the pairs of points on the wall of underground work is studied. The pairs must be located so that the condition number of a certain matrix has the minimal value, which guarantees a reliable estimation of initial stress tensor.

Abstract:
PUPA is a computer program which predicts the critical loads of a long tube under external pressure and axial tension. The program takes into account the effect of inelastic material behaviour on collapse and could be used for tubes with diameter to thickness ratio as low as 10. The analysis is based on a principle of virtual work type of formulation and the resulting nonlinear equilibrium equations are solved using Newton-Raphson method. The model implemented considers a long tube under generalized plane strain conditions and uniform ovalization. Effect of initial ovality, residual stresses a

Abstract:
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is the Nation's second-largest food and nutrition assistance program, providing billions of meals to tens of millions of children and adolescents each year. USDA, Economic Research Service (ERS) periodically reports on NSLP policies and program operations, often after major changes to the program's rules and guidelines. The last such report was published in 2008. Since then, the program has undergone major changes precipitated by the passage of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 and the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Changing eco

Abstract:
A low-constraint test designed to reduce unnecessary conservatism in the measurement of toughness for use in the assessment of flaws in pipeline girth welds has been developed. The test was first proven on nominally homogeneous material (pipe base metal) to check the practicality of the procedures and to study the effects of the controlling geometric parameters (a/W, etc.) on toughness. The intent of this report is to reference the publications resulting from this work and to summarize the principal conclusions. This is the third report of a series of seven technical reports detailing the smal

Abstract:

Abstract:
In an effort to progress the development of hydrocarbon fields found in water depths beyond 1000 feet, the oil and gas industry is considering cost effective methods of subsea pipeline installation. As an established and reliable oil and gas transportation system, the pipeline will be an important factor in deepwater development. Surface installation methods are expected to become costly in deepwater due to the necessary equipment modifications and vessel requirements which are synonymous with increased tension capability and deepwater station keeping ability. This estimated increase in instal

Abstract:
Fracture toughness of steels is conventionally measured using bend specimens and provides a conservative estimate of toughness when the actual loading is in tension. There has been wide-spread interest in characterizing the toughness that occurs with reduced constraint to better reflect constraint conditions typical of a relatively shallow girth weld flaw. Recent developments in fracture toughness testing and analysis of tension loaded specimens have led to publications by CANMET Materials Technology Laboratory (now CanmetMATERIALS, CMAT) and ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company (ExxonMobil) t

The FFG conducted two calls for the "R&D Infrastructure Funding" programme in 2016 and 2018. The programme was developed to take into account the central role of R&D infrastructure in generating new knowledge and technologies. The assessment of the FFG programme "R&D Infrastructure Funding" is intended to review the central points of the programme format and to support the FFG in making improvements and tightening up the programme design. The assessment focuses on the question of the extent to which the programme in its current form and implementation succeeds in achieving the inte
