Purpose: Before the advent of the Land Use Act in 1978, individuals, families and communities owned land absolutely according to customary law. Thus, the family or community was free to give out their land to deserving members of the family or community or even to outsiders as the case may be. Where an individual was the absolute owner of the land, he was free to deal with it in any manner he liked. Therefore, the individual, family or community exercised all incidents of ownership without restrictions. All these were altered when the Land Use Act was promulgated. The extent to which this Act

To ensure water availability for domestic and agriculture purposes, the Government of Indonesia (GoI) has built hundreds of retention basins in all islands in East Nusa Tenggara Province from 1985 until recent times. There is much research on the impact of infrastructure development, especially roads in Indonesia. This in general only focuses on the social transformation based on the economic changes of the community. These research show the social transformation as the impact of the road infrastructure development projects goes beyond economic changes. Using the perspective of a critical study of development anthropology, the author discusses the impact of Lintas Bono Road infrastructure development project in Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province to the social transformation of the surrounding communities. Farming is one of the primary sources as well as foundation of economic activities of India. A huge part of rural population of India which estimated around 65% depends on agriculture. It guarantees about 58% employment in the country. After 75 years of independence, there is still poverty in rural areas. Removal of poverty and raising the living standard of common man must be a prime concern for a welfare state in a democratic system. After independence, various Indian states initiated the process for land reforms through legislation. The Zamindari Abolition and Land Reform Act, 1950 was enac

Property as both an idea and a practice has been interpreted through the prism of a liberal, law and economics paradigm since at least the 18th century. This dominant (and domineering) perspective stresses the primacy of individualism, the power of exclusion, and the values of private commodity. By contrast, concepts of property that evolved out of the counterculture of the 1960s and early 1970s challenged this hegemony. Countercultural, or Aquarian, ideas of property stressed pre-liberal, long forgotten property norms such as sociability, community, inclusion and personhood, and contested a p
