The master thesis describes application of a sandwich construction for Formula Student car. It will replace the current tubular space frame according to FSAE rules. The introduction is focused on the information of international Formula Student competition, including TU Brno Racing Team. Then there are important rules for the construction of frames and composite monocoques. For the selected production technology are found strength properties of face sheets made of carbon and hybrid fibres. Another part of thesis deals with the design of the sandwich panel using analytical calculation to determine the bending stiffness. On the basis of these proposals are made three-point bending and shear tests. Using of FEM simulation is detected torsional stiffness of the tubular space frame and the monocoque concept from the proposed sandwich panels. The conclusion is devoted to a summary of the important information and possible monocoque manufacturing process.

Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with the subject of slenderness bars’ stability assessment, especially in the steel structures. Before the assessment of bars in the frame constructions, we search for the influence of the computational model’s settings on the final result. The initial geometrical imperfections are examined on the model of Euler’s bar. The influence of the rigidity of girders on the poles’ buckling length is examined on the basic frame construction. The buckling lengths are assessed in the comparison with the figures we got from the statistical tables and the computational software. The influence of construction’s initial tilt and its replacement by the system of outer forces is examined on the frame structure. Three-hinged frame structure with variable cross-section member is designed then and the influence of non-linear calculations on the inner forces is studied. In the complex frame assessment, the influence of the number of parts of variable cross-section member on the bars’ buckling length is examined.

Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with a design modification of detection part of the laboratory instrument for measuring the topography of rough surfaces – laser goniometric scatterometer (SM II). Design modification is based on replacement of so far used detector instead for the detector of higher quality with better measurement parameters. The first part of the diploma thesis contains theoretical basics, which are necessary to understand the relationship between scalar diffraction theory and scattering measurements of monochromatic light. The emphasis is on the importance of choosing appropriate detection coordinates, which are affecting the aberrations of detected diffracted light. The practical part is dedicated to improving the sensitivity of the detection part of the scatterometer SM II that is used in The laboratory of coherence optics at IFE FME BUT. This part justifies the choice of the detector which predetermines both the use of optical elements and the overall design of the detection part as the goniometer.

Title: Model constructions for bounded arithmetic Author: Michal Garlík Abstract: We study constructions of models of bounded arithmetic theories. Us- ing basic techniques of model theory we give a new proof of Ajtai's completeness theorem for nonstandard finite structures. Working in the framework of restricted reduced powers (a generalization of the ultrapower construction) we devise two methods of constructing models of bounded arithmetic. The first one gives a new proof of Buss's witnessing theorem. Using the second method we show that the theory R1 2 is stronger than its variant strictR1 2 under a plausible computational assumption (the existence of a strong enough one-way permutation), and that the theory PV1 + Σb 1(PV ) − LLIND is stronger than PV1 + strictΣb 1(PV ) − LLIND under the same assumption. Considering relativized theories, we show that R1 2(α) is stronger than strictR1 2(α) (unconditionally). 1

Title: Construction of pseudoscalar meson amplitudes in chiral perturbation theory using a dispersive approach Author: Martin Zdráhal Department: Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague Supervisor: RNDr. Jiří Novotný, CSc. Abstract: We have developed a method enabling a construction of two-loop 2 → 2 scatter- ing amplitudes of pseudoscalar mesons based on the dispersion and the unitarity relations. This method is illustrated on the construction of the amplitudes of all such processes in chiral perturbation theory in isospin limit taking into account strong interactions only. Then it was used for the construction of ππ scattering amplitudes and of K → 3π and η → 3π decay amplitudes including isospin breaking effects induced by different masses of the particles belonging to the same isomultiplet. These parametrizations are prepared for various phenomenological analyses of the ππ scattering lengths and of the isospin breaking effects, both of which could pro- vide us important information for the understanding of quantum chromody- namics at low energies. Finally, we have performed the phenomenological study of η → 3π decay and obtained a value of the quark mass ratio 1/R = (md − mu)/(ms − ˆm). Our conservative estimate is R = 39.6+2.5 −5.1....

1. ABSTRACT The goal of my work is to reconstruct the Kosovo crisis, that led to NATO intervention on Yugoslavia during spring of 1999. The event is analyzed from two dimensions; the first observes and compares existing interpretations of the crisis- causes, process, solutions and consequences, including possible predictions. The other dimension interprets crisis from the view of international relationships. Studying historical sociology made me watch the world, actions, actors, complexly. I realized, that phenomenons don't exist just to be her for themselves, but they are the different parts of a system, that is connected by different ties, and sustained by rules. Kosovo crisis is a differently interpreted event. The different presentations derive from the discourses under which they formed. Kosovo crisis has its historiographical facts- place, time and actor, on to which social constructs lean and which form. Kosovo crisis is a social construct, historical milestone, symbol, stage, game, field and a process. In my work I aim to prove these claims by analyzing the interpretations and applying the international relationship theories.

Abstract:
Title: Categorial methods in structure theory Author: Jakub Opršal Department / Institute: Mathematical Institute, Charles University Supervisor of the master thesis: prof. RNDr. Věra Trnková, DrSc. Abstract: In the first part of the thesis we investigate functor algebras. Initial algebras have distin- guished role in the study of these structures, and it can be constructed by certain transfinite construction, which is called initial algebra construction. Sooner this year Adámek and Trnková have prooved, that the construction stops in either at most three, or in κ steps where κ is a regular cardinal. We continue with their work, and we study the relation between the size of the algebra and the length of the convergence. We prove that the length of the convergence never exceeds the cardinality of the initial algebra. Another transfinite construction has been studied in 1980 by Kelly. He has described the construction of free algebras for a pointed functor and defined a class of well-pointed functors for which the construction is especially simple (and is in fact special case of the construction of relatively terminal coalgebra which has been recently defined by Adámek and Trnková). In the last chapter we describe all well-pointed functors in categories of sets and the dual category, and we provide list of...

Abstract:
Conspiracy theories are an old-new phenomenon which has gained its importance and specific character over the last three centuries. Unofficially, they have become an alternative tradition of the interpretation of historical events connected with an alternative form of spirituality, known as conspirituality. This manner of the interpretation usually holds the power when the consensually accepted worldview loses its plausibility for the concrete person or group. Conspiracy theories are the verbalization of a certain way of thinking and action which depends on it. Most often, they are manifested in the form of myths. That is understood as one of the dominant structures, commonly connected with traditionally perceived religion. From this point of view and in terms of the function associated with conspiracy narratives, conspiracy theories are examined as functional and structural equivalents of religion. These functions are especially the defense of the order (nomos), differentiation of the outer reality or the explanation of the presence of Evil in the world. In addition, they can also become a medium or tool of social actors in power relations. This thesis represents the complementary overview of the contemporary approaches in the study of religion discourse, which deals with unconventional religiosity...

Abstract:
This thesis aims to describe and analyze the process of construction of otherness, use of humour and taste performance on Facebook page Divnolidi z Brna a okolí. Theoretical background explores contemporary approaches to the research of social network sites (particulary on privacy and sharing; a separate chapter is devoted to Facebook social network site), sociological term of taste as the instrument for social distinction (here, the study is primarily based on the work of Pierre Bourdieu), interdisciplinary concept of otherness (in which we examine works of Mary Douglas, Stuart Hall and Marc Augé) as well as theoretical approach to humour called theory of superiority. We conducted a quantitative description of Divnolidi z Brna a okolí page and a qualitative analysis (a method often called "data-crawling") of 47 page posts. Analytical section of this study focuses on answering following questions: What types of posts can be found on the site? How are individuals captured in these posts perceived? How do the users perceive taste / otherness of the captured individuals? Where were these "weird people" (in Czech language "divnolidi") spotted and how do the users perceive these places? Furthermore, we analyze the use of humour by the page users and the way they react to the site's policy and other...

Abstract:
The presented thesis deals with problems of eating disorders (hereinafter abbreviated to EDs). The theoretical framework is the Social Construction of Reality; a concept saying that the individual perceives reality - as a phenomenon formed and determined socially - in the way it is presented by the "power structures" of the society. The thesis pays special attention to the aetiology of these disorders, laying emphasis on family factors. The aim of the thesis refers to one of the topics resulting from my Bachelor thesis, when it appeared worthwhile to work up in detail the problem of subjectively seen factors substantial for onset of EDs. Thus the aim of the thesis was to map which factors the persons suffering from EDs as well as members of their families consider to be significant for onset of the disease - either their own or their daughter´s /sister´s on one hand and EDs generally on the other hand - and what led them to take their stand, in so doing two ranges of time were mapped. The set of persons under review was represented by the same respondents as in case of research for the Bachelor thesis. In order to ensure mapping of the above-mentioned problem in the most possible complex way, a qualitative research strategy was chosen. The necessary data was obtained by employing the technique of deep semi-structured interviews, then the data was processed using qualitative analysis of the respondents´ statements. Part of the research work was also confrontation of the collected and processed data with specialised resources. On the basis of the results of our research it is evident that the factor causing onset and development of the respondents´ or their daughter´s/sister´s EDs mentioned most often is family background. Unlike the Bachelor thesis, this factor was rather mentioned as one of many; it is not so dominant any longer. This may be explained by the fact that the patients spoke about their situations under the influence of other factors that experts had been emphasising. As for EDs generally, then the respondents mostly mentioned desire to be slim, which, however, has now substantially fallen into the shade. This may be explained by the respondents´ experience with EDs. It may be said that in taking their standpoints, family members were much more influenced by information from specialised resources than the persons suffering from EDs themselves, who mostly took their stand on the basis of their own conviction. Our research shows that for persons suffering from EDs, family background was not a source of information on the problem of these disorders. The research pointed out the importance of engaging the family in solving the problem of EDs as well as the necessity of individual approach to each case of this disease. The presented thesis may be a helpful source of information not only for people interested in the problem of EDs; it may also serve as materials for instruction in the medical social field, and last but not least it can be used to bring more information to the general public.

Abstract:
The thesis titled "Czech serial Velmi křehké vztahy characters with regard to their property estate and social class" is linked to specialised publications which originated in the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Charles University in Prague mapping how the 'after the velvet revolution' series made by the Czech TV portray the topic of wealth and affluence. The subject matter of the research part of this thesis is the episodes of the third season of the Velmi křehké vztahy soap opera which was broadcast by the Prima Czech TV channel between 2008 and 2009. This research sample was achieved by using a qualitative research technique, specifically the grounded theory method. The thesis focuses predominantly on how a class hierarchy and wealth determine their character. The attention is also paid to listing various social classes which appear in the series, and to the outline of the areas of a social life in which the social mobility is possible. Full text
Abstract:
Geographies of sexualities started to develop within the Anglo-American academic context during the late 1980s. In the 1990s, propelled by the cultural turn, the swelling of post-structuralist and postmodern critiques, and a growing recognition of the limitations to scientific knowledge production and representation, geographers of sexualities introduced queer theory into human geography. Queer theory provided human geography with powerful tools for approaching not only straightforward spatialities of sexualities, but this new lens contributed to the development of human geographies as such. Currently, at least in the Anglo-Saxon geographical context, the field of geographies of sexualities is considered part of mainstream human geography. Therefore, the main goal of this thesis is to provide a few lines of reasoning for the development of geographies of sexualities in Czechia and Central Eastern Europe (CEE) and introduction of post-structuralist understandings, specifically queer theory. In contrast to other phenomena that may be locally exclusive or particular, human sexualities are everyplace, albeit quite variable and dependent on the context in which they "enter into language," become institutionalized, and are regulated. Geographers have been specifically insightful about the ways in which...

Abstract:
The diploma thesis "Construction of the imagination of the first republic era from the point of view of two generations explained by an example of the Czech TV series První republika" focuses on the mechanisms in which the TV series co-constructs the audience perception of the given era. The series was broadcasted from January 2014 untill June 2014 on the Czech Televisions program. The thesis aims to show how the younger generations of TV viewers construct the period in which they did not live through their consuming of media content. This is compared with the old-timers who could compare their own experience with the series. The audiences of both generations are equally scrutinized and consequently compared. The theoretical part introduces the theses about social and media construction of reality accompanied by audience cultivation theories. The final analysis of the acquired data is based on these theories but it aims to invent a new hypothesis. The subject matter of the research part is analysed by the qualitative method of the grounded theory as Strauss and Glaser understand it. Full text
Abstract:
The aim of this dissertation, titled "Multilateralism in discourse: USA, EU and Japan" is to pinpoint differences in perceptions of basic policy concepts across various intellectual traditions. The dissertation is based in the presumption that cultural, intellectual and language context are inseparable parts of our perception of reality and terms, through which we describe it. For the interpretation of these cultural differences, the thesis chose three actors with different cultural, historical and language traditions. In their respective discourses, the thesis interpreted the perception of a basic term of international relations - multilateralism. The discursive perception of multilateralism was connected to a theoretical typology of motivation for the priority for multilateralism over other forms of foreign policy behavior - instrumental, moral and social. This typology was tested against the interpretation of multilateralism on two case studies: the War on Terror and the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol. By doing so, the thesis found out that although there is a single shared definition of multilateralism, individual perceptions on the concept's value and role are significantly differing. The United States prefer instrumental logic, the European Union prefers moral logic and Japan oscillates between...

Abstract:
The thesis deals with setting of a system of social housing in the municipalities of the Czech Republic. It is based in particular on the Concept of Social Housing of the Czech Republic 2015-2025, as the legislation on social housing in the Czech Republic has not yet been approved by the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The system is very fragmented for the above reason, there is no consensus in the definition, not even in determining to whom and under what conditions social housing should be allocated. The thesis builds on Schneider and Ingram public policy theory, the theory of social construction of target populations ("TSKCP"). The two main concepts of TSCTP - target population and policy design are the optics and subject of analysis. The most important research activity could be described as an analysis of the availability of social housing in 2nd level municipalities, which was implemented in the form of survey of 388 municipal webpages in order to find out the mention and methodology of providing social housing. Additional interviews with social and housing commissioners took place within one region of the Czech Republic, where we can presume similar socio-economic conditions, but due to anonymity, it cannot be specified more precisely. Abstract:
The submitted thesis is titled Representations of Femininity in Quentin Tarantino's Movies and it focuses on the process of femininity construction in six selected movies both written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The aim of this study is to identify how Tarantino operates the notions of conventional femininity and traditional female gender roles. Furthermore, it investigates to what extent his films either support or subvert stereotypical gender identities. In relation to the research issues the key concepts are defined by the theoretical part of this work. In particular it describes the theory of social and media construction of reality, gender as construct, film as a part of patriarchal structure or feminist perspectives related to the film production. This same part also offers basic information about Quentin Tarantino's personality and his film works in general. In order to answer the research questions the thesis employs a qualitative method of critical discourse analysis which functions as a helpful tool while reconstructing the image of femininity set by media. Moreover, the selected method serves to reveal latent meanings applied by film as a form of media to affect both behavioural and cognitive individual characteristics. Abstract:
The diploma thesis "Media terrorism via bacteria E.coli" puts the so-called cucumber affair from Summer 2011 into wider context and aims to discover the main attributes of contemporary risks and define the way they are presented in the media. Misguiding media releases and the inability to identify the source of the bloody diarrhea outbreak in Germany caused by E.coli bacteria have collectively had a significant impact on consumer behavior and economic stability on a global level. Most people are dependent on government and expert authorities due to the fact that they cannot recognize what represents a realistic threat and what serves as a basis for media sensation. This is why this thesis studies the social constructionist theory, basic media routines and practices as well as theoretical concepts that support the production of pseudo-events. A content analysis of selected Czech dailies and weeklies was executed in order to enable a comparison of the language that has been common for all "pandemics" in the 21st century.

Abstract:
The main theme of the work is finding an answer to the question why in the past years Czech Parliament has failed to enforce measures improving the quality of life of lone-parent families, and what could be done for these measures to be adopted. Theoretical support for answering both questions is provided by a) frame analysis (Schőn and Rein), which works with the idea of conflicting frames and bridging conflicts through reframing, and b) the theory of social construction of target groups (Schneider and Ingram). Based on an analysis of stenographic minutes from proceedings dealing with the issue of non-payment of child support (in particular with proposals for the state to pay child support first and then to receive it from the obligor) and the arrangements connected to child custody (in particular the proposal to strengthen alternating custody), conflicting frames are reconstructed (in the case of non-payment, there are three conflicting frames, in the case of child custody two). These conflicting frames, or rather the fact that they are insufficiently addressed, may be the cause of the incapacity of Czech political representation to address the above agenda. An "efficient penalizing of the debtor" is described as a possible reframing of the problem in the field of non-payment of child support....

Abstract:
This diploma thesis discusses the image of menstruation in the mass media and in user generated content. Menstruation is a biological process that is essential for reproduction. It not only plays a specific role from the biological point of view, but also from the cultural aspect. Menstruation has remained a taboo and been stigmatised for many years. Today this topic is no longer completely taboo, but some stigma and stereotypes remain. This diploma thesis is based on the theory of social construction of reality, where the mass media is considered one element involved in the construction of this reality. The aim of this work is to analyse the image of menstruation in the mass media created by professionals and compare it with the image of this topic in user generated content created by the public on social networks. Two research methods are used to obtain a comprehensive view of the specific issue - a quantitative content analysis and qualitative framework analysis. The quantitative content analysis is used to establish the frequency and occurrence of the topic of menstruation within mass media. The framework analysis is used to establish how this topic is represented and framed in the mass media and in user generated content.
