Kaum ein anderes Textilkunstwerk des Mittelalters hat bis heute solch eine Bekanntheit errungen wie der Teppich von Bayeux. Die Forschung hat sich schon seit sehr langem intensiv damit beschäftigt, aber er hat auch größtes Interesse unter dem breiteren Publikum erregt. Das Museum in Bayeux ermöglicht die gründliche Beschäftigung mit diesem erstaunlichen Wandbehang aus dem späten 12. Jahrhundert, der die Vorgeschichte und die eigentliche Eroberung Englands durch Herzog Willhelm von der Normandie 1066 darstellt. Abstract:

The article presents two tapestry fragments with gnomic verses held at the Metropolitan Museum of New York that have gone unnoticed by literary scholars. They are made following the same template as the well known fragmentary "Kirchenväterteppich" held at the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin. The New York fragments allow for a more complete reconstruction of the pictorial/textual programme and underscore its importance for the reception of Freidank. Vorgestellt werden zwei von den Literarhistorikern bisher unbeachtete Fragmente eines Bildteppichs mit Autoritätensprüchen im Metropolitan Museum New York, der nach derselben Vorlage gearbeitet ist wie der bekannte, ebenfalls nur fragmentarisch erhaltene "Kirchenväterteppich" im Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin. Die New Yorker Fragmente erlauben eine weitergehende Rekonstruktion des Bild-/Textprogramms und unterstreichen dessen Bedeutung für die Freidank-Rezeption.

Abstract:

Konventionelle Techniken zur Trink- und Abwasseraufbereitung zur Entfernung von perfluorierten Tensiden (PFC) funktionieren eher ungenügend. Daher sind neue Adsorber für PFCs erforderlich. Im Forschungsprojekt wurden textilbasierte Adsorber auf Basis beschichteter Polyesterfasern mit verschiedenen Polyelektrolyten entwickelt. Die textilbasierten Adsorber wurden per Foulard-Ausrüstungsmethode hergestellt, was zu langlebigen, leistungsstarken und kostengünstigen Adsorbentien für die Entfernung von PFCs aus Wasser führt. Aus dem kontaminierten Grundwasser aus Düsseldorf und eines ehemaligen Textilveredlungsbetriebs in Bielefeld wurden ~95 bzw. 85 % der lang- und kurzkettigen PFCs reduziert. Dagegen zeigte das stark mit kurzkettigen PFC belastete Grundwasser aus der Papierschlammentsorgung aus Rastatt eine geringere Elimination für kurzkettige PFC. Der daraus resultierende amphiphile Charakter bewirkt eine starke Reduzierung der Oberflächenspannung von Wasser, wobei die hydrophile Kopfgruppe mit der wässrigen Phase wechselwirkt, während die hydrophobe Kette wasser-, öl- und fettabweisend ist. Ihre Oberflächenaktivität ist deutlich höher als die der analogen Kohlenwasserstofftenside [1, 2]. Aufbauend auf dieser Eigenschaft wurden daher viele fluorcarbonhaltige Ausrüstungschemikalien zur Hydrophobierung, Oleophobierung bzw. als Anti-Schmutzausrüstung für Textilien entwickelt. Sie finden z.B. für Outdoorjacken (Hydrophobierung), Schutzkleidung (Ölabweisung, Schadstoffabweisung) oder für Möbel oder Teppiche Anwendung um eine einfachere Reinigung zu ermöglichen.

Abstract:

Coffee is the stimulant crop plant that belongs to the genus Coffea, in the family Rubiaceae. The yield variation and pattern of the crop varied within short geographic distance and thus attributed to low productivity and unpredictable production. The objective of this study was to determine the extent of genotype × environment interaction on yields of promising Teppi coffee genotype. In this study, seventeen Arabica coffee genotypes, representing coffee growing areas of Teppi, southwestern Ethiopia were evaluated at six environments. This study was conducted by using completely randomized block design with two replications. The extent of genotype × environment interaction was analyzed by using additive main effect and multiplicative interaction model and genotype main effect and genotype × environment interaction biplot analysis model. The analysis of variance for yield revealed the presence of highly significant differences ( P < 0.01 ) within genotypes, environments and genotype by environment interaction. From the total sum of squares of genotype × environment interaction of yield, environment accounted for 51% while genotypic and GEI effects were 20.5% and 25.32%, respectively. Generally, genotypes with superior performance and suitable environments for coffee were identified. However, further researches have to target hybridization of those superior genotypes with elite lines in feature Arabica coffee breeding program.

Abstract:

Arabica coffee is an essential crop in the national economy of Ethiopia. There is little information available about the cup quality profile of Teppi coffee, despite several sites across the country having conducted research on the organoleptic properties of various coffee types. Therefore, an experiment was conducted to determine the quality attributes of the genotypes and correlate their inherited quality with morphological traits. The experiment was superimposed on five-year-old plants of 17 coffee genotypes during the 2018 cropping season at Teppi and Gemadro sites. Using the wet processing method, six kilograms of red coffee cherries were carefully harvested, processed, and sun dried to a moisture content of 10.5% to 11.0%. To obtain the necessary number of replications, each sample was divided into three, and three cups for each sample were prepared for the tasting sessions. Organoleptic quality attributes were scored using the standard established. The analysis of variance for aromatic quality, acidity, flavor, and overall cup quality showed a highly significant difference ( P = 0.01) among the tested coffee genotypes. All of the organoleptic quality attributes evaluated showed a no significant correlation with morphological traits like body (r = −0.11) and hundred-bean weight and, flavor (r = −0.1) and bean thickness. However, there was a strong correlation between organoleptic quality attributes like flavor (r = 0.95 ∗ ∗ ) and acidity (r = 0.94 ∗ ∗ ), demonstrating that any organoleptic characteristic is an important element in beverage quality. It is challenging to simultaneously choose for cup quality and bean physical features because there were no significant correlations between organoleptic quality and these traits. In this study, genotype 3/8 showed outstanding performance across locations for all organoleptic quality attributes, which can be used in the Arabica coffee-breeding program.

Abstract:

The work is aimed at studing dynamics of the latent time of motor reaction in conditions of noise interference in adolescents. The result of research of latent time of impellent reaction and force of nervous processes (under the tepping-test) at teenagers of 13-15 years with a certain level of physical development demonstrated that children with a high physical development level have low functional reserves brain programming systems. The influence of the processes underlying acceleration in terms of adaptive reactions of teenagers is showed by this way. The study of the motor reaction to a light stimulus was carried out using the latent time of simple motor reaction computer program developed in the laboratory. It was clear that the processes of acceleration affected the morph functional organization of regulatory brain systems, reducing their level of adaptability and operational reliability. Low indicators of adolescents’ strength of nervous processes, which were obtained during tapping testing, are the general modern trend towards a decrease in the level of their health. The data obtained can be used in the development of medical and pedagogical methods for correcting the functional state of the body of adolescents at the prenosological stage.

Abstract:

Hausstaubmilben sind kleine Spinnentiere, die weltweit vom gemäßigten bis zum tropischen Klima gefunden werden. Proteine, alle mit enzymatischen Eigenschaften, aus dem Gastrointestinaltrakt und folglich im Hausstaubmilbenkot sind Auslöser von allergischen Erkrankungen, die aufgrund einer kontinuierlichen Exposition von geringen Allergenmengen meist chronisch verlaufen. Klinisch äußert sich dies mit einem schleichenden Krankheitsbeginn: eine chronisch verstopfte Nase und - zu Beginn typischerweise - einem Anstrengungsasthma, das sich bei längerer Dauer verstärkt. Bei Vorliegen einer atopischen Dermatitis kann es auch nach Milbenkontakt zu einer Verstärkung der Dermatitis kommen. Die Anzahl an Hausstaubmilben und die Menge an Milbenallergen hängt von der relativen Luftfeuchtigkeit ab, wobei eine Luftfeuchtigkeit von > 50 %, wie es in sehr gut isolierten Häusern oder durch das Klima per se vorkommt, zu einem guten Gedeihen der Hausstaubmilben führt. Nahrungsquelle der Hausstaubmilben sind Hautschuppen, die ubiquitär in Polstermöbeln, Matratzen und Teppichen vorkommen. Die chronischen, recht unspezifischen und oft allergenunabhängigen Beschwerden verzögern oft die Diagnostik, welche durch eine ausgedehnte Allergieabklärung z. B. mittels Hauttestung erfolgt. Die Therapie besteht in erster Linie aus topischen Kortikosteroiden. Trotz widersprüchlicher Daten und Metaanalysen in der Literatur zur Hausstaubsanierung scheint das allgemein eher trockene Klima im Winter in der Schweiz eine Hausstaubsanierung in den Wohnungen zu begünstigen und wird deshalb auch empfohlen. Eine weitere Therapieoption ist die Durchführung einer spezifischen Immuntherapie mit gutem Erfolg bei Kindern und Erwachsenen. Verbesserungen der Diagnostik und Immuntherapie sind durch Einsatz der rekombinanten Allergene zu erwarten.

Abstract:

The fruit with the most commercial significance in the Caricaceae family is the papaya (Carica papaya L.). The fruits are very valuable in terms of nutrition, economy, and medicine. One of the things restricting its production and productivity in Ethiopia is the lack of improved cultivars. In order to determine the optimum high yielding, pest and disease tolerant, variety/ies for the target area, this study was carried out to evaluate the performance of improved papaya varieties. Three newly released papaya varieties were brought to Teppi agricultural research center from Melkassa agricultural research center for evaluation over the cropping seasons of 2019/20 to 2020/21. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design and replicated three times. The mean yield was ranged from 34.24 to 90.08 t/ha for Braz-HS1 and Meki-HL1 varieties respectively. The findings of the study revealed that, based on the recorded parameters Meki-HL1 variety performed better followed by Koka-HM1 variety and these two varieties will be recommended for the surrounding farmers for wider production. Further study should be carried out with improved varieties to improve papaya production and nutritional security as well, especially in southwestern Ethiopia.

In the course of the conducted researches, features of the course of psychophysiological adaptation of students of higher medical education in the dynamics of the academic year obtained by data of cluster analysis are determined. Evaluating the peculiarities of the data obtained when determining the cluster structure of physiologically-significant correlates of psychophysiological adaptation, it should be noted that their structures consisted of the following cluster groups: cluster associated with the characteristics of the speed of a simple and differentiated visual-motor reaction, simple audio-motor reaction and dynamic performance in conditions of monotony, cluster associated with the parameters of mobility of nerve processes, cluster associated with the leading characteristics of tepping-test during the observation period, cluster associated with generalized and individual (the number of premature reactions, delayed reactions and exact reactions) indices of the balance of nervous processes. However, analyzing the psychologically-significant correlates of psychophysiological adaptation, it was necessary to emphasize that their structures consisted of the following cluster groups: cluster associated with the characteristics of emotional burnout, and above all the characteristics of its main phases: phases of stress, resistance and exhaustion, cluster associated with the indicators of asthenic and depressive states, cluster associated with the characteristics of the leading properties of temperament and, above all, indicators of neuroticism, cluster associated with the indicators of the mechanisms of psychological protection, the cluster associated with the characteristics of the level of subjective control of the individual, primarily the characteristics of the general internality, the level of subjective control in the field of educational relations and attitudes to health, cluster associated with the indicators of the properties of anxiety and character, and, ultimately, a cluster associated with the leading characteristics of aggressive manifestations, first of all, indicators of irritability, negativity, indirect aggression, indices of aggression and hostility.

Introduction. Adaptation of the athlete's organism with auditory deprivation to training and competitive activity is ensured by the active participation of the central nervous system, sensory systems, among which the important role is played by visual, vestibular, kinesthetic, tactile-vibration analyzers, which ensure the quality of movement. In this regard, studying the activity of sensorimotor systems of healthy athletes and hearing impaired will determine the ways of correction of the motor activity of the latter. The objective - study and comparative analysis of physiological features of sensorimotor systems of qualified hammer throwers (healthy and hearing impaired). Materials and methods. Research methods: analysis, generalization and systematization of data scientific and methodological literature; psychophysiological methods (simple visual-motor reaction; reaction to a moving object; tepping test; choice and discrimination reaction; critical part of light flickering; attention assessment); methods of mathematical statistics. Nine female athletes specializing in hammer throwing participated in the study: 7 of them are masters of sports of Ukraine, 2 - masters of sports of international class (5 female athletes have hearing impairments, 4 are healthy). The studies were conducted in October-November 2019 at the Donetsk Regional Children's and Youth Sports School for Persons with Disabilities (Mariupol). Results. The studies suggest that the thrower hammer with hearing problems (especially in persons with bilateral sensorineural deafness), in most cases there is a lack of speed of receiving and processing visual information, poor concentration and stability of attention, increasing the number of errors compared to almost healthy athletes. It should also be noted in hammer throwers with hearing impairment that there is an imbalance of nerve processes with a predominance of inhibition, their weakness and inertia. Conclusions. The data obtained confirm the need for the development of a training program, the basis of which is a deliberate impact on visual and vestibular analyzers in order to correct existing abnormalities and compensate for hearing impairment by further improving the functioning of the motor analyzer.
