Abstract:

Abstract:
The language industry is experiencing a paradigm shift. New collaborative practices facilitate exchanges between people from all around the world. Although some of these practices, such as collaborative translation, have attracted the interest of many researchers, others, such as collaborative terminography, are little known. What is the spectrum of collaborative terminography? How do collaborative terminography and traditional terminography differ? What are their respective strengths and weaknesses? This thesis defines collaborative terminography, identifies its characteristics and its various modes and forms, and presents collaborative tools to enable a thorough understanding of the phenomenon. We compare traditional and collaborative terminography through a case study of a traditional model (TERMIUM Plus) and a collaborative model (TermWiki) to identify similarities and differences between them. We then list their respective strengths and weaknesses. We conclude that traditional terminography and collaborative terminography differ mainly in terms of participants, interaction styles and infrastructure.

Abstract:
This thesis contains three theses on the structure and critical history of the dictionaries of agriculture and agricultural science. These three theses were constituted by meta-lexicographical compilations anchored in the history of agronomic thought and in that of economic and political facts. The first thesis (1st part, volumes 1, 2 and 3) is methodological. It argues that the art of structuring a technoscientific dictionary depends on a complex lexico-historical context that does not precisely define the true/scientifical and the useful/technical, especially for agri-agriculture that has no consistent interest. The conception of an agro-agricultural globality is difficult because the compilation of real agricultural objects dominates an agronomic thought, which is itself complex because it is dedicated to a pragmatic and multidisciplinary science. Author's sensitivity and editorial line of the books are strongly determined by the modern economic and political facts which are coherent with those of technoscience. The second thesis (2nd part, volumes 4 and 5) is eighteenist. It argues that the author and the editors of L'Agronome, dictionnaire portatif du cultivateur (Alletz, 1760) have particularly grasped a politico-economic opportunity at historicist (prerequisites for takeoff) and historian (agromania, physiocracy, the Seven Years War, anti-Enlightenment ...) levels. L'Agronome promoted the royal policy from a globalization of agro-agricultural knowledge centered on the ideal life of a wealthy farmer who must, not without a certain absenteeism, organize the techniques of his productions, his hobbies, his health, his cooking and his legal and economic affairs in his "rustic house". This editorial strategy privileged the useful/technical (mixed with pleasant on a subjective tone) on the true/scientifical in a lexicographical limited quality. The third thesis (3rd part, volumes 6 and 7) is meta-lexicographic. It argues that the trend of the eighteenth century is maintained in the following centuries except for the organization of the global agro-agricultural knowledge around an ideal farmer, well living and polyvalent. From the 19th century to the 1940s, production techniques dominated books which are encyclopedic, illustrated, voluminous and prescriptive. A peasant tradition confronted with industrial modernity induces an objective compilation of agricultural techniques, this useful/technical alternating with the truth/scientifical of biology or chemistry. During the second half of the 20th century, agricultural modernization and disappearance of the peasantry accentuate this evolution with a tendency to reduce, describe and encode a useful agrotechnology more frequently by simple definition. The true/scientifical contains less biology or chemistry but some agronomic elements. In the 2010s, four very small dictionaries drastically accentuate the trend of reduction but break with the descriptive compilation by a return to an ideal subjective globality. Their ideal agricultural science answers the challenge, global in many ways, of sustainable agriculture. The latter having a long and difficult emergence, three dictionaries mediate agro-ecology, the fourth agro-technological research. Their thinking addresses, in a certain eclecticism, an agro-sustainability that finds its conceptual expression better in other specialty dictionaries. Future dictionaries may address the syncretism of interlocking durability, where agriculture and nature alternately constitute a critical environment for each other

Abstract:
General outline of the thesis: The forms of the unchanging nature of the French and Russian terminology. A comparative study. This research aims at describing the setting up of specialized collocations with a contrastive perspective t, within the French and Russian specialized legal language. The aim of this research deals with the modelling of the syntagmatic links regarding the terms of the specialized legal language. We have drawn our inspiration from the ideas of the semantics of the framework, in particular, of the Filmorian frame that structures our study. The analysis unit is a collocation of the specialized legal language, which is called specialized lexical combination. The onomasiological approach sets the problem of the study of the conceptual systems concerning the SLC. The semasiological approach deals with the modelling of the SLC at language level. Thus, the two suggested approaches, the onomasiological and the semasiological ones, both answer the needs of the setting up of the two fields: the notional as well as the semantic ones that, in turn, lay the foundation of the interlinguistic typology. We use a comparative approach to be able to find some kind of parallelism within the process of creation and stabilisation of the two specialized languages: French and Russian. While making a comparison between the two specialized languages, we can analyse the difference of linguistic creativity in order to be able to infer the common principles that govern the formation of the SLC. The method of translation, even if it points out the properties outside the system of the concrete specialized language, either French or Russian, does answer the needs of the lexico-semantic modelling of their perspective means of combination.Key words : jurdical terminology, frame, collocation, specialized lexical combination, onomasiological approach, semasiological approach, conceptual systems, comparative approach, translation

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract:
A descriptive monolingual terminological research concerning terms related to a specific area of the Portuguese language called Total Quality Control in Services is provided. Items have been collected in a Terminological dictionary. Choice and justification of themes and a historical summary that contextualizes Total Quality Control in Services and Manufacturing in Brazil and wordwide are given, together with the theoretical basis of Terminology Science and its importance in a globalized world. Working through modalities of terminology, the author follows a theoretical design covering the typology of dictionaries, the terminological dictionary and its specialties, the problem of the conceptual structure area, units of specialized knowledge from translation and its adaptation to the Portuguese language, from its different modes of formation to the definition problem. It will lead the reader to form a theoretical basis that answers some hypotheses. Is Total Quality Control in Services a true specialty area with regard to Total Quality Control in Manufacturing, or is it merely a subarea? If this administrative philosophy arose within a foreign language, how were the terms adapted to Portuguese? Which were the formation modes employed in the adaptation? Information on bibliographical research, collection of terms, terminological card research, structure of words in the dictionary is also given. Finally, the words in the Terminological Dictionary of Total Quality Control in Services are arranged according to the Deming tripod of planning, control and an improvement in total quality.

Abstract: This work aims at contributing to the sworn translators' work by developing a proposal of model of bilingual dictionary Portuguese-French/ French-Portuguese of terms of by laws. This research takes place in the field of Terminology, specifically Bilingual Terminology, and, in order to develop it, we used a comparable corpus, consisting of three corpus: (CTTJ - set of texts (by laws) translated from French to Portuguese under sworn translation; CTOP - set of texts (by laws) originally written in Portuguese; CTOF - set of texts (by laws) originally written in French). From this corpus we extracted the terms to be studied and its data, which were entered in electronics records of a database we created with the help of Microsoft Access application. After storing the terminological information, we established the equivalences Portuguese-French with the help of the support bibliography in both languages, composed by juridical, economical e commercial dictionaries, besides of legal documents. For that, we developed a comparative analysis of the semantic-conceptual content of the equivalents applicants and of the use context of the terminological units in both languages. During the search for the equivalences, we found mainly total equivalents, fact that show us the proximity between Brazilian and French by laws and juridical systems, since we found out during the research that the terms of this kind of document come mainly from juridical source. Next, we developed a basic theoretical study to identify the sworn translators' primary needs in relation to the bilingual dictionary. Based on this study, we developed our proposal of model of bilingual dictionary Portuguese-French of terms of by laws, which can be useful, in the future, for the sworn translators' work. We received FAPESP support to the achievement of this project, with a bourse to the period of 2008, March... (Complete abstract click electronic access below)
