Abstract:
AbstractIn this paper we investigate subtractive varieties of algebras that are Fregean in order to get structure theorems about them. For instance it turns out that a subtractive variety is Fregean and has equationally definable principal congruences if and only if it is termwise equivalent to a variety of Hilbert algebras with compatible operations. Several examples are provided to illustrate the theory.

Abstract:
AbstractThe characteristic function of a lognormal random variable is calculated in closed form as a rapidly convergent series of Hermite functions in a logarithmic variable. The series coefficients are Nielsen numbers, defined recursively in terms of Riemann zeta functions. Divergence problems are avoided by deriving a functional differential equation, solving the equation by a de Bruijn integral transform, expanding the resulting reciprocal Gamma function kernel in a series, and then invoking a convergent termwise integration. Applications of the results and methods to the distribution of a sum of independent, not necessarily identical lognormal variables are discussed. The result is that a sum of lognormals is distributed as a sum of products of lognormal distributions. The case of two lognormal variables is outlined in some detail.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThe present paper reveals an analytically computational method for the inverse Cauchy problem of Laplace equation. For the sake of analyticity, and also for the frequent use of rectangular plate in engineering structure, we only consider the analytical solution in a two-dimensional rectangular domain, wherein a missing boundary condition is recovered from a partial measurement of the Neumann data on an accessible boundary. The Fourier series is used to formulate a first-kind Fredholm integral equation for the unknown function of data. Then, we consider a Lavrentiev regularization amended to a second-kind Fredholm integral equation. The termwise separable property of kernel function allows us to obtain a closed-form solution of the regularization type. The uniform convergence and error estimation of the regularization solution are proven. The numerical examples show the effectiveness and robustness of the new method.

Abstract:
Given a cotorsion pair ([Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]) in an abelian category [Formula: see text] , we define cotorsion pairs ([Formula: see text], dg[Formula: see text]) and (dg[Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]) in the category [Formula: see text]N([Formula: see text]) of N-complexes on [Formula: see text]. We prove that if the cotorsion pair ([Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]) is complete and hereditary in a bicomplete abelian category, then both of the induced cotorsion pairs are complete, compatible and hereditary. We also create complete cotorsion pairs (dw[Formula: see text], (dw[Formula: see text])⊥), (ex[Formula: see text], (ex[Formula: see text])⊥) and (⊥(dw[Formula: see text]), dw[Formula: see text]), (⊥(ex[Formula: see text]); ex[Formula: see text]) in a termwise manner by starting with a cotorsion pair ([Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]) that is cogenerated by a set. As applications of these results, we obtain more abelian model structures from the cotorsion pairs.

Abstract:
In the work, the stability conditions for a solution of an evolutionary hyperbolic system with distributed parameters on a graph describing the oscillating process of continuous medium in a spatial network are indicated. The hyperbolic system is considered in the weak formulation: a weak solution of the system is a summable function that satisfies the integral identity which determines the variational formulation for the initial-boundary value problem. The basic idea, that has determined the content of this work, is to present a weak solution in the form of a generalized Fourier series and continue with an analysis of the convergence of this series and the series obtained by its single termwise differentiation. The used approach is based on a priori estimates of a weak solution and the construction (by the Fayedo–Galerkin method with a special basis, the system of eigenfunctions of the elliptic operator of a hyperbolic equation) of a weakly compact family of approximate solutions in the selected state space. The obtained results underlie the analysis of optimal control problems of oscillations of netset-like industrial constructions which have interesting analogies with multi-phase problems of multidimensional hydrodynamics.

Abstract:
This study examines the long-run and short-run relationship between investment in infrastructure and economic growth in the Indian economy by using Auto Regressive Distributed Lag Model, Error Correction Model, and Granger Causality Test. The study reports that there is no short-run relationship among gross domestic product, gross domestic capital formation, revenue of the governmentand exports. However, the study finds that unidirectional causality exists between employment and gross domestic product; gross domestic productandinflation. It implies that employmentlevel in organised sector and inflationinfluence the economic growth in India for a short period. The study finds that there is a long-run relation exists between economic growth, domestic investment, inflation and government revenue. Therefore, emphasis should be placed on capital formation, government income and inflation to accelerate growth and development in the Indian economy. The error correction term is indicating that long term relationship is stable and any disequilibrium created in short termwill be temporary and will correct over a period. However, it is suggested to maintain balance among inflation, gross domestic product, employment, exports, savings, investment and government revenue to keep an economy growing. These findings have important policy implications since an economy built on investment in infrastructural development.

Abstract:
The language industry is experiencing a paradigm shift. New collaborative practices facilitate exchanges between people from all around the world. Although some of these practices, such as collaborative translation, have attracted the interest of many researchers, others, such as collaborative terminography, are little known. What is the spectrum of collaborative terminography? How do collaborative terminography and traditional terminography differ? What are their respective strengths and weaknesses? This thesis defines collaborative terminography, identifies its characteristics and its various modes and forms, and presents collaborative tools to enable a thorough understanding of the phenomenon. We compare traditional and collaborative terminography through a case study of a traditional model (TERMIUM Plus) and a collaborative model (TermWiki) to identify similarities and differences between them. We then list their respective strengths and weaknesses. We conclude that traditional terminography and collaborative terminography differ mainly in terms of participants, interaction styles and infrastructure.
