The Pahau Terrane as part of the Torlesse Superterrane extends for over 30% of the New Zealand landmass. Although an unofficial type locality around the Pahau River has been proposed, it has never been adequately described or defined. In this thesis, we investigated the generation of the higher derivative Chern-Simons term, as well as the ether-like term, both at finite temperature. We also examined the question of the large gauge invariance, with respect to the Chern-Simons term and the hight derivative one.
