Abstract:
This case focuses on how gender integration was embedded within the practices and administration of a tertiary hospital in the Philippines. The programme was selected as a promising practice because BGHMC stands out as an example of how to address gender inequalities and improve cultural competence. Based on in-depth analyses of interviews and published materials, it examines the contextual factors that gave rise to the institutionalisation of gender integration in BGHMC, the enabling factors and challenges encountered, outcomes achieved, and lessons learned, including those that might be tran

Abstract:
Background and Objectives- Symptomatic Primary Hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is common in India in comparison to the western population. But there is very little data on the inuence of age on the presentation of PHPT. In the present study we aimed to analyse the clinical and metabolic prole among different age groups of symptomatic primary hyperparathyroidism. Methods: This retrospective analysis was done in PHPT patients who attended Department of Endocrinology, Gauhati Medical college and Hospital. Thirty-one PHPT subjects who presented to us over a period of last ve years were divided into

Background: Pertussis vaccination in pregnant women is a strategy currently recommended to foster passive maternal immunity and minimize severe complications from pertussis in not yet completely vaccinated infants. However, the potential interference of maternal antibodies on the development of infant antibody responses induced by childhood whole cell pertussis (wP) and acellular pertussis (aP) vaccination is not well-defined. Methods: This randomized controlled trial (NCT02408926) followed healthy term infants born to tetanus diphtheria acellular pertussis (Tdap)-vaccinated mothers at a terti

Abstract:
Background and Objectives: The incidence of post-procedural pain following percutaneous thermal liver ablation under procedural sedation and analgesia (PSA) is yet largely unknown. Only a few small studies investigated tumor and ablation factors on pain, whereas psychological or PSA factors as possible predictors for pain were not investigated. The primary aim of the current study is to measure the prevalence and severity of post-procedural pain based on maximal NRS. Secondary aim of this study is to identify predictors for post procedural pain post liver ablation under PSA. Methods: This sing
