Abstract:
In System Test, there is currently no common test procedure validation process across commercial, civil and government programs. Enterprise processes simply state to perform verification and validation. The method of satisfying that requirement is left to each individual organization and/or program. The process is generic in order to support an Enterprise of products that can vary from military weapons to commercial satellites. A common test procedure validation process can be adopted which is platform and program independent to provide more guidance than the top level Enterprise process. The method of allowing each System Test program to define their own validation process results in inconsistencies between programs. Important Lessons Learned which could result in an improved validation process for a particular program are not captured. Costly rework is incurred without standardization. The root causes for Test Procedure rework fall in three common categories as shown in Table 1. Program X is an example of a program which does not follow a standard validation process. Therefore their process is incomplete and results in significant rework. This document will limit its scope to focus on standardizing Program X's process to the validation process currently used by the majority of programs in System Test. The goal is to develop a standard procedure and in tum reduce the number of validation process issues (rework) currently plaguing Program X. During this process, techniques from Lean and Quality courses will be utilized.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to determine the reliability and validity of the Dot Counting Test as a measure of feigned cognitive performance. Archival neuropsychological test data from a “real world” sample of 147 credible and 328 non-credible patients were compared. The Dot Counting Test E-score cutoff of ≥ 17 continued to show excellent specificity (93%). However, sensitivity dropped from approximately 74% documented in 2002 to 51% in the current sample. When the cutoff was lowered to ≥ 15, adequate specificity was maintained (90%) and sensitivity rose to (61%). However, a third of credible patients with borderline IQ failed the test using the Dot Counting Test E-cutoff score, indicating cautious use of the test with individuals who likely have borderline intelligence.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In this thesis, we propose the testing approaches for web service composition. We focus on unit, integrated testing of an orchestration of web services and also the runtime verification aspect. We defined an unit testing framework for an orchestration that is composed of a test architecture, a conformance relation and two proposed testing approaches based on Timed Extended Finite State Machine (TEFSM) model: offline which test activities as timed test case generation, test execution and verdict assignment are applied in sequential, and online which test activities are applied in parallel. For integrated testing of an orchestration, we combines of two approaches: active and passive. Firstly, active approach is used to start a new session of the orchestration by sending a SOAP request. Then all communicating messages among services are collected and analyzed by a passive approach. On the runtime verification aspect, we are interested in the correctness of an execution trace with a set of defined constraints, called rules. We have proposed to extend the Nomad language, by defining the constraints on each atomic action (fixed conditions) and a set of data correlations between the actions to define the rules for web services. This language allows us to define a rule with future and past time, and to use the operations: NOT, AND, OR to combines some conditions into a context of the rule. Afterwards, we proposed an algorithm to check correctness of a message sequence in parallel with the trace collection engine. Specifically, this algorithm verifies message by message without storing them

Abstract:
When testing active safety and Autonomous Emergency Brakes in vehicles many tests are done with a type of rig that simulates, for example, a pedestrian crossing the road in front of the vehicle. This thesis covers a validation of the accuracy of a new similar test-rig that has been developed by AstaZero, the company and test facility where this project took place. The rig operates by dragging a target (e.g. a pedestrian dummy) ona plate across a vehicles path, forcing it to apply the emergency brakes. By performing multiple tests with common test scenarios and various parameters, such as velocity, weight, etc. data was acquired and analyzed. The data acquisition was made with an Inertial and GPS Navigation system mounted on the rig. During the analysis, the purpose was to determine the lateral and longitudinal accuracy as well as the velocity stability. The first results showed that the velocity had an oscillating behavior. Solutions to prevent this was to either implement Jerk, which smoothens the acceleration, or to lower the total weight of the plate. Tests for lateral and longitudinal accuracy resulted in a standard deviation of approximately 10 mm for longitudinal position and between 15 mm and 40 mm for lateral position, mostly depending on test distance and weight.

Abstract:
Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) is the internationally recognized measure of a person's cardiorespiratory fitness. Currently the most accurate way of assessing one's true VO2max involves the use of maximal exercise tests, which require the use of specialized equipment, and are time consuming and costly. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of the submaximal Siconolfi step test to estimate VO2max. A second purpose was to determine if body fat percentage improved the validity. Thirty-six individuals underwent a maximal treadmill test, in which VO2max was directly measured, and the step test. Results indicate that, although VO2max estimates generated by the Siconolfi step test are highly correlated to true VO2max (r =.887; p<.01), the values consistently underestimated a person's aerobic fitness. It was also determined that body fat percentage did not contribute to the prediction of VO2max.

Abstract:
The objective of this thesis is to ensure the proper behaviour of the functional aspects of web based systems. To achieve this goal, we proposed two different test approaches: the active approach and the passive approach. Our goal is to automatically generate a suite of active test scenarios that will be applied on a system under test to examine its compliance with respect to its functional specification, and, when interrupting the normal flow of operation is problematic, to observe the system under test with passive testing. The goal of this work is developing a method and a set of tools to test web based systems using the active and passive testing approaches. Concerning the active testing approach, we present a methodology to cover the end-to-end testing process (from building the model until the test execution). This work tackles the gap between, on the one hand, generating abstract test cases from abstract models and, on the other hand, developing methods allowing concretizing these tests and automatically applying them on a real applications. Then, concerning the passive test approach, we present a methodology and a new tool for observing the behaviour of the communications of the web applications with external web services (for SOA based web applications) in order to check whether the observed behaviour is correct. All the methodologies and tools presented in this work are applied on two industrial case studies, Mission Handler and Travel Reservation Service, in order to validate our contributions in active and passive testing respectively

Abstract:
The present study investigated the Anger IAT as a valid measure of anger. In order to answer this question the relationship between the Anger IAT and traditional measures of anger, anxiety, and self esteem were examined for convergent and divergent validity. It was hypothesized that the Anger IAT measure would be moderately to highly correlated with the State Trait Anger Expression Inventory- 2 (STAXI-2), correlated less with the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and correlated least with the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). Additionally, to demonstrate that the Anger IAT measure reduces a person??s ability to fake good, social desirability is hypothesized to have a moderating effect between the Anger IAT and the STAXI-2. A total of 60 subjects participated in this investigation, 42 of which were female and 18 were males. Furthermore, there were 20 Caucasian, 34 Hispanic, and 6 African American participants. It was found that the Anger IAT was correlated with several scales of the STAXI-2. The Anger IAT correlated less with the STAI and least with the RSES. Furthermore, it was found that the Anger IAT measure reduced the participant??s ability to fake good.

Abstract:
Threaded fastener is one of the most common ways to join components. Having a method to test threaded fasteners is key when designing a joint and even more a nutrunner. A joint is often tightened by a torque applied on the head. The applied torque is equal to three quantities in the joint, the thread torque, the underhead torque and the clamp force. To measure these quantities are the propose of a friction test rig. A test rig was built last year to be able to do that in a flexible and effective way. But the test rig built last year does not have the possibility to measure the underhead torque. A new transducer is constructed to add that possibility. The transducer is constructed by using methods such as concept generation, strength calculations, FEM simulations and a comparison of sensors are made. An easy way to change the stiffness is also investigated but no possible solution could be found. Some modifications and trims are also done on the test rig and also a comparison with the older BLM rig. A validation is made of how good the rig perform is also done. The results shows in favour for the FTR but precise results is not possible to determine.

Abstract:
Peer-to-peer (P2P) offers good solutions for many applications such as large data sharing and collaboration in social networks. Thus, it appears as a powerful paradigm to develop scalable distributed applications, as reflected by the increasing number of emerging projects based on this technology. However, building trustable P2P applications is difficult because they must be deployed on a high number of nodes, which can be autonomous, refusing to answer to some requests and even unexpectedly leaving the system. This volatility of nodes is a common behavior in P2P systems and can be interpreted as a fault during tests. In this thesis, we propose a framework and a methodology for testing and validating P2P applications. The framework is based on the individual control of nodes, allowing test cases to precisely control the volatility of nodes during their execution. We also propose three different architectures to control the execution of test cases in distributed systems. The first approach extends the classical centralized test coordinator in order to handle the volatility of peers. The other two approaches avoids the central coordinator in order to scale up the test cases. We validated the framework and the methodology through implementation and experimentation on two popular open-source P2P applications (i. E. FreePastry and OpenChord). The experimentation tests the behavior of the system on different conditions of volatility and shows how the tests were able to detect complex implementation problems

The purpose of the research is to cross-validate cut-offs for use of the Finger Tapping Test as a performance validity measure. The original cut-offs were published by Arnold et al. (2005) and it is important to cross-validate cut-offs on new populations to show that specificity/sensitivity data are stable and replicable. The data used from the archival data set are finger tapping test scores, age, educational level, gender, ethnicity, diagnosis, compensation-seeking status (whether or not the person is in a lawsuit or attempting to obtain disability), and scores on other performance validity tests used for assigning subjects to credible and noncredible groups.

Abstract:
Few constituencies exist where it is more important to produce information literate individuals than teacher candidates, yet rarely is it suggested that practitioners entering the field are adequately prepared to teach and model information literacy to their students. As a result, information literacy has been established as a key outcome by a number of teacher education accrediting bodies and professional associations. Corollary to this initiative is the effort to develop valid instruments that assess information literacy skills. Yet, at the time of this dissertation, no rigorously reviewed instruments were uncovered that measure the information literacy skills levels of teacher candidates. The study describes the development and validation of the Beile Test of Information Literacy for Education (B-TILED). Funded in part by the Institute for Library and Information Literacy Education and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the study is part of a national initiative spear-headed by the Project for the Standardized Assessment of Information Literacy Skills (SAILS). Test content is based on nationally recognized standards from the International Society for Technology in Education and the Association of College and Research Libraries. Procedures designed to enhance the scale's validity were woven throughout its development. 172 teacher education students at a large, metropolitan university completed a protocol consisting of 22 test items and 13 demographic and self-percept items. This instrument can be used to inform curricular and instructional decisions and to provide evidence of institutional effectiveness for program reviews.

Abstract:
System-on-Chips are getting more complex every day, making manufacturing test constantly more challenging. As chip size is increasing, a divide and conquer approach is tackled, through a core-based methodology, using Synopsys Design-for-Test (DfT) state of the art features. This document deals with flows implementing such architectures. A wrapping core flow is proposed, limiting ports impact, thanks to compression feature. A full automated flow is proposed, as well as one offering more test possibilities, implementing wrapper bypass paths for full custom tests. Then a top-down flow is presented to tackle an actual complex ST-Ericsson project, using most of Synopsys features, showing first how to use the tool and which workarounds are to be implemented to achieve the expected architecture. As a parallel study, clock management under test, which is one of the most challenging parts in DfT flows, was examined. Clocks are handled with On-Chip-Clocking (OCC) controller, setting dynamically clock behavior through clock chains. It was shown that all clock chains should be handled in a single scan chain through compression modules. As a consequence, and to avoid a longer clock chain than regular chains, an update of the current Synopsys OCC controller was proposed, improving test time in coming projects.

Abstract:
Elicited imitation (EI) is a method of assessing oral proficiency in which the examinee listens to a prompt and attempts to repeat it back exactly as it was heard. Research over recent decades has successfully established correlation between EI testing and other oral proficiency tests, such as the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and the OPI by computer (OPIc). This paper details the history of oral proficiency assessment as well as that of EI. It then outlines the development process and validation of a Portuguese Elicited Imitation test. The processes of item selection and item validation are detailed followed by the criterion-related validation through a statistical correlation analysis of participants' results on an official American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) OPIc and their predicted OPIc scores which were based on their results of the Portuguese EI calibration test. Results of the statistical analysis revealed a strong correlation between the predicted scores of the EI test and the actual OPIc scores. In order to go beyond previously completed EI research, this paper addresses the issue of face validity which has been a challenge for the proliferation of EI testing. Analysis of a survey administered after participants' completion of the two tests (OPIc and EI) addresses the experiences and reactions of the participants to the two testing formats. Suggestions for future use of EI as well as future research will be presented.

Lin, Morris Mengwei. "A Test Planning System for Functional Validation of VHDL DSP Models." Diss., Virginia Tech, 1998. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/30305.

Full text
Abstract:
Validating DSP circuits modeled in VHDL involves generating test data, creating VHDL test benches, and simulating the test benches including models under test (MUTs). This is a laborious and time-consuming process. Therefore, it is desirable to develop a high level approach to automating and planning these tasks. This dissertation presents a high level test planning system for functional validation of VHDL DSP models. The system requirements parameterized from the specifications constitute the input space and serve as generics of test benches. Library-based test benches are developed using high level design tools. A test planning framework uses a goal tree structure as a vehicle of planning and documenting the testing activities. In a goal tree, test goals are given based on the specifications and test groups are defined to satisfy the test goals. Test groups partially constrain the system requirements and thus partition the input space into smaller and more manageable subspaces. A set of test strategies are then applied to the test groups for efficient test case design. Each test case is mapped to a configuration declaration of the test bench. The test bench is then simulated to generate test vectors against which the MUT is tested. The MUT response is compared with the gold response by a comparator and verdicts are reached by test oracles. An integrated test planning software system has been developed for test planning and test automation based on this approach. As an illustration of this approach, this dissertation uses the Synthetic Aperture Radar system as a case study. Completeness and effectiveness of the generated test set are evaluated. This dissertation also discusses approaches to hierarchical faulty module isolation for hierarchical circuits. Exposability is proposed to measure the extent that signal values are revealed to the tester and is used as the cost function for the faulty module search problem. An expanded goal tree which explores the functional and structural aspects of a hierarchical circuit is also presented.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Estimates indicate that students with learning disabilities (LD) represent 3-5% of the school population and that about 80% of these individuals evidence a reading disability or dyslexia. Because appropriate instruction depends upon correct classification, experts suggest that, if students are to be helped, research must shift to documenting specific subtypes within the classification of dyslexia. Historically, one of the most accepted theoretical models suggests the existence of three types of dyslexia. Under a variety of terms, the major subtypes, phonologic, orthographic, and mixed dyslexia, have been identified by practitioners throughout the years. Although many measures of phonologic processing are available currently, no widely-accepted measure of orthographic processing exists. The intent of the current study, therefore, was to create an instrument (Dyslexia Subtyping Test (DST)) that subtypes dyslexia into phonologic, orthographic, and phono/ortho or mixed dyslexia. Based upon suggestions found in recent research, the DST addresses dyslexia subtypes across two domains; receptive or decoding tasks and expressive or encoding tasks. Future revisions and directions for dyslexia subtyping are discussed.

Abstract:
To achieve optimal resource sharing and enhance the sustainability of energy supply, the need for cross-border power transmission is continuously growing. Therefore, frequent information exchange with detailed grid data is required. To standardize such exchange and thus to facilitate common power system studies in Europe, the Common Grid Model Exchange Standard (CGMES) based on IEC CIM (Common Information Models) was issued by ENTSO-E (European Network of Transmission Operators for Electricity) in 2013. A CGMES conformity assessment process was also set up to encourage and examine the adoption of CGMES with relevant power system applications. The main purpose of this thesis is to validate that the Network Manager product of ABB has implemented CGMES properly. Power flow calculations are performed based on ENTSO-E’s test networks and the solutions obtained are compared with the standard results as well as the results from Power Factory (a power system analysis tool from DIgSILENT that has already passed the conformity assessment successfully).  The comparison results are analyzed thus to identify causes of any variation from the standard power flow solutions and to give suggestions for future development of Network Manager.

Bradley, Kevin Michael. "Personality Test Validation Research: Present-employee and job applicant samples." Diss., Virginia Tech, 2003. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/11052.

Full text
Abstract:
In an effort to demonstrate the usefulness of personality tests as predictors of job performance, it is common practice to draw a validation sample consisting of individuals who are currently employed on the job in question. It has long been assumed that the results of such a study are appropriately generalized to the setting wherein job candidates respond to personality inventories as an application requirement. The purpose of this manuscript was to critically evaluate the evidence supporting the presumed interchangeability of present-employees and job applicants. Existing research on the use of personality tests in occupational settings is reviewed. Theoretical reasons to anticipate differential response processes and self-report personality profiles according to test-taking status (present employees versus job applicants) are reviewed, as is empirical research examining relevant issues. The question of sample type substitutability is further probed via a quantitative review (meta-analysis) of the criterion-related validity of seven personality constructs (Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Optimism, and Ambition). Further, the meta-analytic correlations among these personality constructs are estimated. Test-taking status is examined as a moderator of the criterion-related validities as well as the personality construct inter-correlations. Meta-analytic correlation matrices are then constructed on the basis of the job incumbent and the job applicant subgroup results. These correlation matrices are utilized in a simulation study designed to estimate the potential degree of error when job incumbents are used in place of job applicants in a validation study for personality tests. The results of the meta-analyses and the subsequent simulation study suggest that the moderating effect of sample type on criterion-related validity estimates is generally small. Sample type does appear to moderate the criterion-related validity of some personality constructs, but the direction of the effect is inconsistent: in some cases, incumbent validities are larger than applicant validities. Alternatively, incumbent validities sometimes are smaller than applicant validities. Personality construct inter-correlations yield almost no evidence of moderation by sample type. Further, where there are between group differences in the personality construct inter-correlations, these differences have little bearing on the regression equation relating personality to job performance. Despite a few caveats that are discussed, the results are supportive of the use of incumbent samples in personality-test validation research.

Health monitoring during flight tests provides a means of data validation in flight. It is possible to design a data acquisition system such that the available instruments incorporate redundancy through analytic relationships. This analytic redundancy may be exploited in order to assess individual sensor system health and to validate accuracy claims. A practical example is presented in which an air data set is compared with GPS in order to isolate failures in the pressure and temperature transducers.

Abstract:
In response to concerns about using only standardized multiple-choice assessments, some school districts have moved to using alternative ratings of student achievement with authentic assessments. However, such assessments are often limited in terms of the psychometric validity data supporting their use. The present study mixed quantitative and qualitative methods to examine the validity, development, and refinement of an authentic rating approach currently in use in middle school mathematics classes from a large suburban school district in the Southwest United States. A sample of teachers (n = 14), rated students (n = 110) using a pilot rubric of 187 items. Analyses resulted in a 32-item rubric with 20 themes and 9 factors. Results from a G-study revealed the facet that best explained variance in student scores was the interaction between raters and assessment units, as well as students and assessment units. As part of the development of the assessment, a content validity exercise revealed 18% of the rubric items as below average quality. Findings highlight the need to enhance contextualization of rubrics, use a strategy of assessment that includes contextualized and decontextualized assessment, and to investigate the role of utilization deficiency in explaining low student scores.

Abstract:
The industrial testing phase of graphical user interfaces and the behaviour of screens, is still involving manual tests with human interaction. This type of testing is particularly difficult and time consuming to manually perform, due to time sensitive messages and information used within these interfaces. This thesis address this issue by introducing an approach to automate this process by utilizing high grade machine vision cameras and existing algorithm implementations from OpenCV 3.2.0. By knowing the expected graphical representation in advance, a comparison between the actual outcome and this expectation can be evaluated by applying image processing algorithms. It is found that this approach presents an Equal Error Rate of 6% while still maintaining a satisfactory time performance, in relation to the timeframe requirement of these time sensitive messages. Accuracy and time performance is profoundly affected by hardware equipment, partially due to the immense amount of image processing involved.

Abstract:
The author tries to validate Jean Pinatel's concept of criminal personality through the rorschach test and considers its clinical operationalization. He relates the results of this test to the criminological evolution in a sample of 808 subjects having stayed in institutions. He also carries out three sharp clinical studies. The results do not invalidate Jean Pinatel's theory, but they show, through a factor analysis, three indicators of "violence", "inhibition" and "banal socialization" which are linked to the delinquent evolution. On the clinical level, the author checks the possible use of these three indicators and emphasizes the interest of the concepts of N. Rausch de Traubenberg's self-image scale and L. Cassiers's symbolic elaboration indicator. He concludes by proposing the expression of a "criminal-sensitive configuration" of the personality and advocates the development of an integrative clinic

Abstract:
Assessment centers, although useful for assessing behaviors and competencies associated with a targeted construct, can be low in economic utility. The current study sought to validate a situational judgment test (SJT) that was developed as an alternate form of assessment for a leadership development program. The first study examined the content validity of the SJT by performing retranslation on item stems and calibration of the item responses. The second study examined alternate forms reliability between the two forms of the leadership SJT that were developed. The third and final study evaluated the relationship between assessment center performance scores and SJT scores by demonstrating their convergent validities. Results from Study 1 demonstrated that the SALSA© test was a content valid measure of leadership ability. Results from Study 2 demonstrated that all available items from SALSA© could be used to make two forms of the test that demonstrate good alternate forms reliability. Finally, Study 3 suggests a moderate correlation between the assessment center and situational judgment test. Future research should focus on the underlying issues pertaining to significant group differences between English as primary language and English as second language students. Alternate developmental procedures, especially with alternate form assignment, should also be considered.

Abstract:
The high cost of chip testing makes testability an important aspect of any chip design. Two important testability considerations are addressed namely, the power consumption and test quality. The power consumption during shift is reduced by efficiently adding control logic to the design. Test quality is studied by determining the sensitization characteristics of a path to be tested. The path delay fault models have been used for the purpose of studying this problem. Another important aspect in chip design is performance validation, which is increasingly perceived as the major bottleneck in integrated circuit design. Given the synthesizable HDL code, the proposed technique will efficiently identify infeasible paths, subsequently, it determines the worst case execution time (WCET) in the HDL code.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis aimed at contributing to the topic of construct validity of the Implicit Association Test (IAT, Greenwald, McGhee, & Schwartz, 1998), considered as a prejudice measure. Although the IAT is currently employed for both research and applied purposes, the mechanism underlying the IAT effect is not yet fully understood. We adopted an experimental approach of the IAT construct validity in order to improve the comprehension of the IAT functioning. The IAT task was adapted to the French social context, where the North African minority is most frequently the target of prejudice. Considered together, Experiments 2, 3, 4 and 5 suggested that the IAT experimental situation has a threatening potential through the transparency of its purpose. The consequence would be an artificial inflation of the positive IAT effects (in the sense of in-group preferences). Experiments 6 and 7 confirmed that attention processes implied by binary categorisations could account, at least partially, for the IAT effect. Furthermore, we predicted that due to participant inclusion in one of the two target categories (i. E. , French versus North-African), categorisation of stimuli related to the "Self" may be an available heuristic with an important contribution to positive IAT effects reflecting in-group favouritism. Experiments 8 and 9 are consistent with this prediction. In addition, Experiment 1 demonstrated that personal characteristics such as age, education and ethnicity could exert their own influence on the IAT effect. The weights of the factors leading to the IAT effect is not yet established and, thus, undermine the construct validity of the IAT, considered as a diagnostic tool of prejudice. To conclude, we are arguing that IAT validation as a test (versus procedure) requests a clear specification of the contribution of all IAT components (i. E. , material, instructions, population and experimental conditions) to the IAT effect

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to quantify the effects of heat flux sensor design and interaction with both test article material choice and geometry on heat flux measurements. It is the public domain component of a larger study documenting issues inherent in heat flux measurement. Direct and indirect heat flux measurement techniques were tested in three thermally diverse model materials at the same Mach 6 test condition, with a total pressure of 1200 psi and total temperature of 1188° R, and compared to the steady analytic Fay-Riddell solution for the stagnation heat flux on a hemisphere. A 1/8 in. fast response Schmidt-Boelter gage and a 1/16 in. Coaxial thermocouple mounted in ¾ in. diameter stainless steel, MACOR, and Graphite hemispheres were chosen as the test articles for this study. An inverse heat flux calculation was performed using the coaxial thermocouple temperature data for comparison with the Schmidt-Boelter gage. Before wind tunnel testing, the model/sensor combinations were tested in a radiative heat flux calibration rig at known static and dynamic heat fluxes from 1 to 20 BTU/ft2/s. During wind tunnel testing, the chosen conditions yielded stagnation point convective heat flux of 15-60 BTU/ft2/s, depending on the stagnation point wall temperature of the model. A computational fluid dynamic study with conjugate heat transfer was also undertaken to further study the complex mechanisms at work. The overall study yielded complex results that prove classic methodology for inverse heat flux calculation and direct heat flux measurement require more knowledge of the thermal environment than a simple match of material properties. Internal and external model geometry, spatial and temporal variations of the heat flux, and the level of thermal contact between the sensor and the test article can all result in a calculated or measured heat flux that is not correct even with a thermally matched sensor. The results of this study supported the conclusions of many previous studies but also examined the complex physics involved across heat flux measurement techniques using new tools, and some general guidance for heat flux sensor design and use, and suggestions for further research are provided.
