Psychometric test construction and validation has come a long way in the past few decades. With the development of modern approaches to testing and applications of statistical softwares, this field of research has become highly sophisticated and enriched. The Indian scenario is however, a little different, pertaining to the acceptability of modern psychometric methods and their use in test development and validation. Although several new tests and questionnaires are being developed or validated in local cultural contexts, Indian researchers are yet to reach the state where psychometric test de

Abstract:
The aim of the study is to assess the attitude of teachers towards environmental ethics and to develop ethics in them in case of lack of concern towards it. After reviewing so many relevant literatures the investigators considered the three dimensions of environmental ethics i.e., anthropocentrism, eco-centrism and bio-centrism and constructed 84 items based on these dimensions. Investigators consulted 15 experts from various educational and environmental fields for the content and face validity of scale. After expert judgment, 19 items were rejected for overall ambiguities while 65 items were

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to (a) describe the construction of a role-play test (RPT), which is based on actual negotiated encounters by the Crisis Negotiation Unit of the FBI and employed specifically for evaluation and training of negotiation skills, and (b) provide preliminary validational support for the RPT. The first part of the study includes an overview of RPT item development and the role of active-listening skills, and the second part involves the validation of the RPT. Both groups were also administered self-report measures of social problem-solving skills and emotional empathy.

Purpose Safety climate (SC) is considered a leading indicator of safety performance, but scholars suggest that a common SC assessment framework is yet to be developed. Following the debate between the importance of facet analysis and agent analysis, the purpose of this paper is to test a factor structure, developed by the authors in previous work and arising from their systematic literature review, highlighting the role of safety agents in a construction site setting. The purpose of this study is to carry out the scale development of occupational well-being (OWB) (affective, professional, social, cognitive, psychological and psychosomatic well-being) in Laos. Using multiple sampling data, we developed a valid OWB scale with a large Laotian sample (n = 1745). The validity of the OWB-47 scale was analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Cross-validity, the initial model, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were performed using Stata 19 to assess the validity of the scale development. Consistent with the valid model, the CFA revealed a unidimension

This paper proposes an incipient assessment method for postconstruction settlement of highway subgrade by using statistical analysis approach with an improved static loading test method, time-extended loading test. The time-extended loading residual settlement Sr(t) and settlement rate Vs(t) are calculated from the field test data. The test procedure and the corresponding experimental validations are presented. Based on the field test data, a probabilistic model is built to bridge the final residual settlement and the actual postconstruction settlements. The proposed time-extended loading test

The present aim was to construct and validate the Factorial Arabic Neuroticism Scale. Based on the scales developed by Eysenck, Cattell, and Guilford, the item pool consisted of 226 nonrepeated items. Five Ph.D. referees shortened the pool to 84 items. Then, the item-remainder correlation, the exclusion of the items with significant correlation with scores on Extraversion, and several cycles of factor analyses yielded 20 items representing the final version. The principal components analysis yielded two high-loaded factors of General Neuroticism and Sleep problems and tension. Reliability coef
