Abstract:
The compressive strength of mortar is typically determined using the American Societyfor Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard method using 2 inch cubes which are compressed tillfailure. There is however a disparity between the compressive strengths of mortar cubes, and insitumortar. This disparity is a result of the differences in thickness, aspect ratio, curingconditions, water content, and confinement between mortar cubes and mortar joints. While thesedifferences lead to mortar joints being stronger than mortar cubes, a relationship between theirstrengths is desired. Two less-common mortar s

It was found that the machine is suitable for testing of either subtle specimens with low loading for

The issue of ductile damage prediction can be generally divided in two types of tasks. The first one is to preventing the initiation of ductile damage with is most common group of calculation today. The second task can be described as aimed damaging, such as machining, cutting, etc. The significant development of this issue occurred in recent decades by help of development and access to powerful computational techniques and new experimental possibilities. However, the behaviour of ductile damage at multiaxial proportional and non-proportional loading is insufficiently described. This thesis he

The master thesis is focussed on evaluation of mechanical properties and fracture behaviour of basic materials and weld joints of a water turbine supply pipe. The results of tensile tests, fracture toughness tests, hardness and micro-hardness tests and further chemical and metallography analysis are used for operating degradation level evaluation of the construction material and also for a residual operating recognition of the second, identical specimen of supply pipe.

This thesis aims to compare the relationship of physical-mechanical properties of tool materials made of WC-Co sintered carbides with their resistance to initiation and propagation of thermal cracks. The paper presents the results of testing the basic physical-mechanical properties of the three samples sintered carbides with different percentage of Co binder. Next, this thesis describes the progress and results of quench experiment and cutting tests using, which was described resistance of the tested samples to thermal and mechanical shock, depending on the values of physical-mechanical proper

Abstract:
This doctoral thesis consists of a literature review, presented in two papers, and another six papers describing experimental studies of the influence of different kinds of wax and polyphosporic acid on bitumen and asphalt concrete mixture properties. The literature review should give an extensive description of the field of knowledge concerning wax in bitumen. Effects of wax in crude oil, bitumen and asphalt concrete as well as test methods for studying these effects are described. Theories behind possible mechanisms are also discussed, and commercial wax as additive to bitumen for different
