Abstract:
L'inno dedicato ai sette Amesha Spəṇta è parte della produzione avestica recenziore, e si compone in gran parte di porzioni testuali riprese da altri testi avestici a loro volta di formazione tardiva. Lo Yašt si divide in tre parti principali: le stanze 0-10; 11-14; e infine la stanza 15 che comprende la formula di chiusura tipica degli inni avestici. La prima sezione (2.0-10) è composta dalla formula di apertura, incompleta rispetto a quelle dei restanti inni, seguita dai primi sette capitoli di entrambi i Sīh-rōzag compresi i Gāh. Le stanze centrali (11-14) si caratterizzano per l'assenza di passi gemelli, un elevato numero di hapax e di arcaismi formali e inoltre, una grande variabilità nella tradizione manoscritta. Si tratta di una formula magica per esorcizzare/allontanare demoni e stregoni, che doveva essere recitata per sette volte. Tale formula probabilmente rappresentava in origine un testo autonomo che veniva recitato assieme ad altri testi avestici. La versione a noi pervenuta comprende la recitazione di parte di entrambi i Sīh-rōzag, ma è molto probabile che tale arrangement sia soltanto una sequenza recitativa che doveva coesistere assieme ad altre. Attualmente la formula magica viene recitata principalmente assieme allo Yasna Haptaŋhāiti, senza le restanti stanze dell'inno nella sua versione geldneriana. Il testo sembra nascere come formula magica la quale venne recitata assieme a diversi testi avestici come per esempio parti dello Sīh-rōzag. In un periodo impossibile da stabilire con certezza la versione viene fissata nella forma a noi pervenuta nella maggior parte dei manoscritti e per la sua affinità formale probabilmente interpretato come inno e perciò incluso nell'innario avestico.
The Avestan Hymn to the seven Amesha Spəṇta is a late composition. It is mostly charchaterized by a collation of fragments from other Late Avestan texts. The Yašt can be divided in three parts: stanzas 0-10, 11-14 and 15, the last stanza regards the closing formula. The first part includes the opening formula that, compared to the other Avestan hymns, is incomplete and the first seven chapters of both Sīh-rōzag and the Gāh. The central stanzas (11-14) present an original composition without parallels or twintexts. It shows numerous hapax, formal arcaisms and an enormous amount of variants in the manuscript tradition. It centres on an exorcistic formula meant to expell demons and sorcerers that has to be recited seven times: most likely the magical spell was originally performed together with other Avestan texts such as the Sīh-rōzag. Likely, this specific arrangement of texts irepresents only one performative sequence, originally coexisting together with others which were not transmitted in the written tradition. Nowadays, the formula is mostly recited with the Yasna Haptaŋhāiti, for apotropaic purposes and in order to guarantee good fortune among the Parsis. The exorcism was originally performed together with several sacred formulas. The composition transmitted in the manuscripts is probably only one version, which was included in the canon because wrongly associated with a hymn.

Abstract:
Questo elaborato intende presentare ed analizzare la traduzione dall’italiano all’inglese della monografia Cronache del fascismo nella città del Duce dello storico forlivese Elio Santarelli. Per poter completare in maniera efficace il lavoro di traduzione è stato necessario focalizzarsi prima di tutto sul genere testuale a cui l’opera appartiene, in modo da poterne cogliere convenzioni e destinatario. Il testo è stato identificato come appartenente al macro-genere accademico e, in particolare, al sottogenere della monografia a tema storico. Prima di procedere con la traduzione si è, dunque, condotto un approfondito studio del genere accademico, che è stato considerato prima dal punto di vista teorico e poi da quello traduttivo. A questo proposito, è stata effettuata un’analisi comparata di due opere appartenenti allo stesso genere testuale del testo di partenza, mettendole a confronto con le loro traduzioni. In questo modo, si sono colte le differenze che intercorrono nella realizzazione di monografie storiche tra il mondo anglosassone e quello italiano. I due diversi livelli di analisi, del genere testuale e di testi tradotti, hanno permesso di gettare le fondamenta del lavoro di traduzione, che è quindi stato basato su considerazioni pratiche.

Cette thèse consiste dans l’édition critique du commentaire de Raoul Lebreton sur l’Éthique à Nicomaque (ca. 1295). Le texte critique est précédé par une étude critique, historique et doctrinale, dans laquelle j’étudie les problèmes philologiques de la transmission de ce texte, le problème de l’identification de l’auteur, et celui de la doctrine du texte. Ce texte, dont la transmission est caractérisée par des témoins fragmentaires et remaniés, semble avoir joué un rôle important dans la réception latine (scholastique) de l’Éthique d’Aristote à la fin du XIIIe siècle : son auteur, Raoul Lebreton, actif à l’université de Paris à la fin du XIIIe siècle et au début du XIVe, démontre, dans ce commentaire, qu’il a pris position sur les problèmes moraux fondamentaux de son époque, dans le cadre du débat philosophique et théologique contemporain
This PhD thesis consists in the critical edition of the commentary on the Nicomachean Ethics written by Radulphus Brito (ca. 1295). The critical text is preceded by a critical, historical and doctrinal study, where I examine some philological problems of the transmission of the text, the problem of its authorship, and the doctrines of the text. The text, whose transmission is characterized by fragmentary and reshaped witnesses, seems to represent an important stage of the latin reception of the Nicomachean Ethics at the end of the XIIIth century: his author, Radulphus Brito, a master of arts at the University of Paris at the end of the XIIIth century and at the beginning of the XIVth, deals with the most important moral problems of his age, in the context of the contemporary theological and philosophical debate

Questo elaborato finale è stato scritto con l’intento di analizzare un esempio di tipologia ibrida di testo, uno scritto pensato per l’orale nell’ambito delle visite guidate. Con più precisione, il caso preso in esame è quello del testo di preparazione e di riferimento delle guide del Museo storico-architettonico ed etnografico statale della riserva naturale di Kiži (Gosudarstvennyj istoriko-architekurnyj muzej-zapovednik Kiži). Come introduzione alla traduzione, sono stati scritti tre capitoli presentativi per illustrare l’ambito professionale della guida turistica in Russia e le tecniche traduttive adottate. L’idea è nata dal tirocinio curricolare svolto in Carelia, più precisamente a Petrozavodsk presso Enjoy Russian, nell’estate 2019.

Tra il 1410 e 1411, di ritorno dal suo viaggio di formazione in Grecia, il giovane Guarino tradusse in latino il Περὶ παιδῶν αγογὴς, opuscolo contenuto nel corpus dei Moralia e attribuito ad un maestro del circolo di Plutarco. Il testo greco riassumeva concetti educativi fondamentali nell’antichità, suggerendo un modello di educazione che mirava a formare un uomo laico, cittadino consapevole dei suoi doveri familiari, civili e religiosi. Questo concetto educativo, consono alla sensibilità umanistica di Guarino, spiega la sua scelta di tradurre in latino l’opera greca. Il De liberis educandis rappresenta, dunque, dal punto di vista del contenuto, un importante divulgatore di principi educativi per i secoli a venire e, dal punto di vista linguistico, una preziosa fucina di quel nuovo latino che andava formandosi all’inizio del XV secolo e di cui Guarino è uno dei primi artefici. Questo studio si propone di sottrarre il De liberis educandis dall’ombra e di aggiungere osservazioni sulla controversa attività di Guarino come traduttore. Sulla base di un dettagliato confronto linguistico tra l’originale greco e la versione latina di età umanistica, si può concludere che Guarino traduceva il testo greco con precisione, pur permettendosi qualche libertà dal punto di vista linguistico e culturale, come si dimostrerà con precisi riferimenti testuali. Il raffronto con l’originale greco rappresenta anche la base per avviare un’edizione critica dell’opuscolo latino che, assieme ad una traduzione in italiano, non è mai stata affrontata prima d’ora

Che cosa fa di una storia una buona storia? Che cosa significa ascoltare? Perché ci piace raccontare storie altrui? In che cosa consiste l’editing e fino a che punto è invasivo? Che cosa succede fra chi racconta e chi ascolta? La risposta a queste domande è nascosta in ogni intervista. Le storie raccolte in questa tesi si offrono a molte possibili letture da parte di critici letterari, sociologi, filosofi. È necessario però anche ascoltare, registrare, annotare le parole di qualcuno che regala la sua storia; perciò la tesi è un intreccio di ricerca teorica ed empirica. Si interrogano psicologi per scoprire che cosa succede fra chi racconta e chi ascolta; giornalisti per imparare in che cosa consiste l’editing; critici letterari per capire perché ci piace raccontare storie altrui; filosofi per mostrare che cosa significa ascoltare; scrittori per definire che cosa faccia di una storia una buona storia. Alle persone incontrate viene chiesto soltanto di ricordarsi, raccontarsi e affidarsi a quella duplice ricerca del senso anche chiamata intervista. L'intervista che fa da protagonista a questa tesi, "Polvere, pane e burro", è stata pubblicata sul numero 225 della rivista Una Città. I punti di riferimento sono infatti, da una parte, la redazione di Una Città -con cui ho collaborato per tre anni- e lo scrittore italiano Aldo Nove, autore di "Mi chiamo Roberta, ho 40 anni, guadagno 250 euro al mese". Un'intervista ad Aldo Nove è presente in appendice.

Lo studio analizza le svolte nel teatro di innovazione francese prodotte dalla rivolta sociale e dalla sua rivoluzione culturale del 1968. La ricerca si è concentrata su tre livelli di analisi: un'analisi – storica, politica, sociale, culturale – dell'anno-tournant; un'analisi delle reazioni nel mondo del teatro contemporanee alla rivolta; un'analisi delle prassi spettacolari di lunga durata originate dall'evento. Sono stati, quindi, esaminati criticamente i testi cardine degli intellettuali ispiratori, protagonisti e interpreti della breccia culturale, per poi rintracciare i valori emersi all'interno del mondo dello spettacolo. La contestazione sociale ha agito sul mondo del teatro producendo delle ripercussioni immediate – l'occupazione dell'Odéon, la contestazione al XXII Festival d'Avignon, la produzione della Déclaration de Villeurbanne – e delle prassi di lunga durata che hanno agito sui processi formativi e creativi delle compagnie francesi che, dalla fine degli anni Sessanta, hanno prodotto creazioni collettive (in particolare il Théâtre du Soleil e il Théâtre de l'Aquarium, ma anche la Nouvelle Compagnie d'Avignon, il Grand Magic Circus e il Théâtre Populaire di Lorraine) e sul corpus drammaturgico e teorico di Michel Vinaver. Sono state, quindi, analizzate le relazioni che si sono instaurate tra i protagonisti appena nominati e i differenziati contesti, sociali e teatrali, facendo emergere nuove istanze creative. Tali istanze hanno saputo rispondere alle spinte etiche ed estetiche del momento storico, le hanno declinate sul piano delle prassi teatrali e rilanciate verso modalità nuove che hanno favorito l'emersione di una nuova civiltà del testuale.
The study analyses the changes in French theatre of innovation caused by the social riot and its cultural revolution in 1968. The research focuses on three levels of examination: a historical, political, social and cultural analysis – of the turning year; an analysis of the reactions in the world of theatre contemporary to the riot; an analysis of the long spectacular practices originated by the event. The main writings by inspiring intellectuals, chief protagonists and spokesmen of the cultural breach, have been critically examined, in order to find the values emerged in the show business. The social contestation acted onto the world of theatre producing immediate repercussions – the Odéon Theatre occupation, the contestation at the 22nd Festival d’Avignon, the production of the Déclaration de Villeurbanne – and of the usual long-term procedures which acted on the formative and creative processes of French acting companies who have produced collective creations since the end of the Sixties (especially the Théâtre du Soleil and the Théâtre de l'Aquarium but also the Nouvelle Compagnie d'Avignon, the Grand Magic Circus and the Théâtre Populaire di Lorraine). Morover, they acted also on the dramaturgical and theoretical writings by Michel Vinaver. Therefore, the connections amongst the newly named chief protagonists and the different social and theatric contexts have been analyzed making emerge the new creative needs. Such needs were able to answer to the ethical and esthetical of the historical moment. They decreased them from the theatric praxis point of view and raised them toward new modalities which have favored the raising of a new textual civilization.

Nella presente tesi sono riassunte le diverse posizioni epistemologiche riguardo alla relazione tra didattica e storia della matematica, insieme alle possibili funzioni di quest'ultima nell'attività scolastica. In particolare ci si è soffermati sull'opportunità di introdurre gli studenti ad un rapporto diretto con le fonti storiche. A tale scopo è stata condotta una sperimentazione in una classe di seconda Liceo, a cui sono stati proposti tre brani di diversi autori e secoli da esaminare in gruppo. Sono stati dettagliatamente descritti e successivamente analizzati i comportamenti messi in atto dagli studenti alla lettura delle fonti.

Da sempre si è ritenuto che Parmenide affermasse l'unità dell'Essere. Nel corso del '900 si è però iniziato a dubitare di tale attributo. Nella prima parte della tesi ho analizzato le varie interpretazioni critiche che sono state date a tal proposito e ho cercato di mostrare come, col tempo, si sia sempre più abbandonata l'idea di un monismo assoluto per abbracciare l'idea di un'unità che fosse in rapporto con i molti. Questa revisione si è spesso accompagnata ad una rivalutazione della fisica Parmenidea esposta nella seconda parte del Poema. In particolar modo mi sono concentrato sulle letture di metà '900 (Verdenius, Calogero, Untersteiner), predicazioni (Kahn, Mourelatos, Curd) e fisiche più recenti (Ruggiu, Casertano, Cerri, Palmer). Nella seconda parte della tesi ho invece analizzato i frammenti in cui i vari storici della filosofia hanno intravisto la possibilità di argomentazioni pro o contro determinate concezioni di monismo. Mi sono dedicato quindi all'analisi critica del frammento 4 e del frammento 8 (versi 4, 5-6, 12-13, 22-25, 36-37, 38, 53-54). In questa analisi ho cercato di portare elementi a sostegno della teoria da me sostenuta per cui Parmenide affermerebbe l'uni-molteplicità, cioè che il soggetto parmenideo è il Cosmo, la Realtà intera, il Tutto che ingloba dentro di sé il molteplice sensibile. La tesi si chiude con un'appendice dedicata ai riferimenti platonici sul tema dell'unità in Parmenide.
It has always been believed that Parmenides affirmed the unity of Being. During the 20th century, however, some scholars began to doubt this attribute. In the first part of the thesis I analyzed the various critical interpretations that have been given in this regard and I tried to show how, over time, the idea of ​​an absolute monism was increasingly abandoned to embrace the idea of ​​a unity that was in relationship with the many. This revision was often accompanied by a re-evaluation of the Parmenidea physics exposed in the second part of the Poem. In particular, I focused on the mid-1900s readings (Verdenius, Calogero, Untersteiner), predicational interpretations (Kahn, Mourelatos, Curd) and more recent physics readings (Ruggiu, Casertano, Cerri, Palmer). In the second part of the thesis I have analyzed the fragments in which the various historians of philosophy have seen the possibility of arguments for or against certain conceptions of monism. Then I made a critical analysis of the fragments 4 and 8 (verses 4, 5-6, 12-13, 22-25, 36-37, 38, 53-54). In this analysis I have tried to bring elements to support the theory supported by me for which Parmenides would affirm the uni-totality, i.e. that the Parmenides poem's subject is the Cosmos, the whole Reality, the Whole that incorporates the sensitive manifold. The thesis terminates with an appendix dedicated to the Platonic references on the theme of unity in Parmenides.

Abstract:
La ricerca consiste nell’edizione e traduzione del trattato ‘Practica musice’ di Franchino Gaffurio corredata da apparati critici e storico-contestuali. Si inizia con la biografia dell’autore redatta secondo gli ultimi dati disponibili e si presenta una esposizione del contenuto del trattato con proposte di chiarimenti dei passi più oscuri. Segue quindi uno studio dei cambiamenti intercorsi tra le parti del trattato come trasmesse nei manoscritti preparatori e la sua versione finale a stampa, seguito da una indagine sulle edizioni successive all’editio princeps, con tabelle sulle varianti tra le edizioni. Vengono quindi offerte la trascrizione interpretativa del testo latino del trattato (che può essere considerata la più corretta attualmente disponibile ed è l’unica a riportare numeri di partizione testuale) seguita dalla sua traduzione in italiano, con trascrizione degli esempi musicali. Il trattato, diviso in quattro libri, ha per argomenti rispettivamente il cantus planus e le scale modali gregoriane, la musica misurata e le figure della notazione, l’arte del contrappunto e la più ampia casistica disponibile sulle proporzioni ritmiche.
The research consists in the edition and translation of the Treatise 'Practica musice' by Franchino Gaffurio, accompanied by critical, historical and contextual commentary. It begins with the author's biography prepared according to the latest available data and presents an exposition of the treatise’s contents, with proposals for clarification of the obscurest passages. This is followed by a study of the changes between the manuscripts’ preliminary versions and the final printed edition and a survey of the editions following editio princeps, with tables on the variants between editions. It then offers the interpretive transcription of the Latin text of the treatise (which can be considered the most correct and is the only currently available to report numbers of text division) followed by its translation into Italian, with transcription of the musical examples. The treatise, divided into four books, deals with, respectively, cantus planus and gregorian modal scales, measured music and the figures of notation, the art of counterpoint and the broadest illustration available on rhythmical proportions.

La présente thèse porte sur l’histoire vétérotestamentaire de Jephté (Jg 10,6-12,7). Le travail est divisé en deux parties : la première concerne la formation du texte biblique et propose une nouvelle analyse critique du passage à travers la confrontation entre TM, LXX, Vg et d’autres sources. Si cette comparaison permet une réflexion sur le rapport entre le TM et le modèle hébraïque de la LXX ainsi que sur les relations entre les différentes recensions de la Bible grecque, l’étude du lexique et des thèmes qui y sont présents a conduit à formuler une nouvelle hypothèse de datation et de contextualisation historique et littéraire du récit à l’intérieur du corpus biblique. La seconde partie se concentre sur l’histoire des interprétations du passage dans le monde grec et latin du Ier jusqu’au début du ve siècle, et elle a abouti à la constitution d’un dossier regroupant les passages, examinés dans leur contexte, qui commentent ou mentionnent l’épisode. L’attention donnée au contexte a permis de résoudre certains problèmes qui avaient jusqu’à présent empêché la reconstruction de l’histoire de l’exégèse du passage (attributions de certains fragments caténaires, datation du De virginitate d’Ambroise, etc.). Cette nouvelle approche de recherche conjugue l’analyse complète de l’épisode biblique et l’étude approfondie de son exégèse et révèle, d’une part, les choix effectués lors de la composition d’un épisode scripturaire très problématique, et, de l’autre, les différents mécanismes employés par les exégètes pour expliquer le sens du récit où la bonté de Dieu, qui a permis le sacrifice humain en sa faveur, est mise en cause

The work is divided into two parts: the first one concerns the formation of the biblical text and proposes a new critical analysis of the passage through the confrontation between MT, LXX, Vg and other sources. This comparison examines the relationships between the MT and the Hebrew model of the LXX as well as the differences between the different recensions of the LXX; furthermore, the study of the lexicon and the themes present therein leads to the formulation of a new hypothesis on the time of composition and the historical and literary contextualization of the episode within the biblical corpus. The second part focuses on the history of the interpretations of the passage in the Latin and Greek world from the 1st century AD to the beginning of the 5th century, and has led to the constitution of a dossier of passages, examined in their context, which comment on or mention the episode. The attention given to the context has made it possible to resolve certain problems that have hitherto prevented the reconstruction of the exegetical path of the passage (attribution of certain catenary fragments, dating of Ambrose’s De virginitate, etc.). This new research approach combines a complete analysis of the biblical episode with a thorough study of its exegesis. It thus reveals, on the one hand, the choices made during the composition of a sacred, though problematic text and, on the other hand, the different mechanisms employed by the exegetes to explain the meaning of a story in which the goodness of God, who tolerated the human sacrifice, is questioned

Abstract:
This study proposes an adaptation of Hunt's (1965) Terminal Miminal Syntactic Unit (T-Unit) to measure syntactic complexity in American Sign Language (ASL) syntax. Criterion for determining an American Sign Language T-Unit is based upon research into the linguistic structure and development of ASL. Nine deaf elementary aged students watched a non-verbal film and retold the story in ASL on videotape (Newport et al., in press). The stories were then transcribed into the Vista Glossing System (Smith, Lentz & Mikos, 1988). Transcriptions were segmented into T-Units and further analyzed for syntactic complexity. Results reveal an increase in ASL T-Units for all children from the fall to the spring. An increase in ASL T-Units translates to greater syntactic complexity. Results from the study suggest that an ASL T-unit analysis is an effective measure of ASL proficiency.

This thesis will therefore describe how a database and its user interface can be designed and implemented. This thesis also describes how this can be done in the best way regarding usability. The new solution can be accessed from anywhere due to the fact that it is going to be placed on a server which then can be accessed from a web browser. This new solution will exclude the flaws that the Excel application currently holds.

La production dramatique de l'Océan Indien est encore peu connue et fréquentée par les spécialistes de la littérature en prose et en poésie des îles de Madagascar, de Maurice et de la Réunion. Même si les poètes tels Malcolm de Chazal et Jacques Rabemananjara ont été les objets de nombreuses analyses, leur production théâtrale reste encore aujourd'hui inexplorée et ignorée par la majorité des critiques. Le but de notre étude est de compléter les articles occasionnels et lacunaires par un recensement ponctuel et une analyse sociocritique approfondie des auteurs des îles qui ont écrit pour les théâtres. The dramatic literature of the Indian ocean's colonies is ignored by the specialist of the francophone narrative and poetry of the islands of Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius. Even if Malcom de Chazal and Jacques Rabemananjara are largely known by the experts of the area, the analysis of the dramatic production is still defective. The purpose of our study is to complete the work of a few critics who have engaged on the exploration of the Indian Ocean's drama of the origins (Antoine Chelin for Mauritius, Michel Corvin for the Magalasy theatre) and the contemporary production. Our study is dividend into two parts : an historical introduction in which we consider the rising and the fall of the French colonial empire in the Indian ocean; the second chapter consists in the catalogue and analysis of various authors and styles that have dominated the indian ocean's production during the past century, trying to define the dramatic space of the islands comparing the local production with the european and african ones

This collection of essays addresses the history of Numic-speaking American Indians of the Great Basin–Colorado Plateau–Mohave Desert area since these lands passed into the sovereign control of the United States after the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848. The goal of this study is to revisit historical processes and events that transformed the lives of these Americans so profoundly that their effects are still being felt today. The perspective of contemporary Indians who shared their views with the authors, wrote portions of this history, advised on its production, and reviewed its contents, informed the versions of history relayed throughout this book. The themes explored in this collection interweave oral histories, collected by the authors through interviews with Indian people, and data from primary archival sources and publications. The essays that follow represent a small sample of themes that concern Indian people, who believe that their values, opinions, and version of historical processes and events are seldom portrayed fairly, if at all, in Western literature. This preoccupation with telling their history is all the more relevant in the context of government–to–government consultation between American Indian tribes and federal agencies, wherein productive debates about land management and resource preservation issues hinge on a shared understanding of why the land and its resources are important to Indian people and how Indian people lost control over them. It is precisely under the auspices of such a shared understanding between the Nevada Test Site and Nellis Air Force Base and several Indian tribes and organizations from Nevada, California, Arizona, and Utah that this historical study was conducted.

This government-to-government consultation between the Department of Energy, Nevada Operations Office (DOE /NV) and the Consolidated Group of Tribes and Organizations (CGTO) focused on the interpretation of 10 rock art sites; seven on the Nevada Test Site (NTS), and three on the Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Office (YMSCO). The consultation entailed a systematic ethnographic study of petroglyphs, pictographs, and other rock art manipulations. The objective of the project was to gain an understanding of the cultural significance of rock art for contemporary American Indians and its place in their traditional cultural landscapes. Research activities involved visits to rock art sites by tribal elders and tribal cultural experts. During the field visits, Indian consultants responded to standardized interviews and provided observations, comments, and recommendations regarding each of the sites under study. The project involved 14 American Indian tribes and two Indian organizations that represent Indian people having aboriginal and historic ties to lands currently occupied by the NTS. The study was initiated as part of the overall DOE /NV American Indian Program, which includes a decade of project - specific and general consultation efforts. This study built upon previous efforts and contributed to DOE /NV's understanding of American Indian cultural resources on the NTS.

L'opera presenta una nuova edizione critica del testo greco degli "Estratti da Teodoto" di Clemente Alessandrino oltre alla prima traduzione italiana completa. Alcuni capitoli introduttivi e un esteso commento permettono di apprezzare la ricchezza di contenuti di questa fonte di inizio III sec. per lo studio dello gnosticismo, letteratura cristiana antica, patristica e storia del dogma. Gli "Estratti da Teodoto" non sono una raccolta di frammenti originali copiati da fonti gnostiche principalmente valentiniane, come si crede abitualmente. Ad un'analisi approfondita essi appaiono come una collezione di tredici frammenti tratti dalle "Ipotiposi", un'opera perduta di Clemente. La natura e il contenuto di questi frammenti mostrano che la tradizionale suddivisione degli ETh in quattro sezioni (Sagnard) non è ricevibile. Deve pure essere abbandonato il tentativo di individuare precisamente le parti 'valentiniane' e 'clementine'. Clemente riporta raramente citazioni letterali tratte dalle sue fonti, mentre molto spesso presenta le dottrine 'eterodosse' in modo indiretto, proponendo delle sintesi ('epitomes'). Nella prima parte degli ETh Clemente presenta e discute soprattutto dottrine valentiniane, probabilmente 'orientali'. Tuttavia, a partire principalmente dal frammento 11 illustra il pensiero di Teodoto. Costui sembra abbia sviluppato e modificato dottrine del valentinianesimo 'occidentale', come dimostra il confronto con la 'Grande Notizia' di Ireneo.
The work presents a new critical edition of the greek text of "Excerpta ex Theodoto" of Clement of Alexandria together with the first complete Italian translation. Some introductory chapters and an extensive commentary allow you to appreciate the richness of the contents of this early third century source for the study of Gnosticism, ancient Christian literature, patristic and history of dogma. The ETh are not a collection of original fragments copied from Gnostic sources mainly valentinian, as believed to routinely. For an in-depth analysis they appear to be a compilation of thirteen fragments from "Hypotyposeis", lost work of Clement. The nature and extent of these fragments show that the traditional division of the ETh in four sections is unacceptable. It must also be abandoned the attempt to accurately identify 'valentinian' and 'clementinian' parts. Clement shows a few quotes verbatim from his sources. Very often shows 'heterodox' doctrines indirectly proposing summaries ('epitomes'). In the first part of the collection Clement presents and discusses especially valentinian doctrines, probably 'eastern'. Instead, starting mainly from the fragment 11, he presents the Theodotus thought. He seems develope and modify doctrines of 'western' valentinianism, as demonstrated by the comparison with the 'Great Notice' of Irenaeus.

Resumo: Este trabalho tem por objetivo realizar uma leitura dos contos da autora escocesa Muriel Spark, nos quais a importância das práticas narrarativas se manifesta como a característica mais evidente: a estrutura narrativa e as construções significativas agem em favor da expressão de um modo de estar no mundo e, mais regularmente, representam também o grande desafio que a leitura poderá abrigar ao tratar das personagens, em especial as femininas. No entanto, é necessária a identificação das referências que constituem os mundos ficcionais, geralmente atreladas à realidade e à proposição de novas formas de inteligibilidade. Em geral, estas formas estão implícitas no texto e cabe às leitoras e aos leitores acessá-las; para que isto ocorra, devemos reconhecer que estrutura narrativa e caracterização de personagens encontram-se intrinsecamente relacionadas. Por meio dos contos sparkianos, é possível ter uma ampla visão da obra da autora e, ao mesmo tempo, das práticas e experiências das mulheres historicamente situadas. Assim, a tese que defendemos é a de que os contos de Muriel Spark, com base nas construções significativas presentes no texto, permitem um diálogo entre o texto e a realidade sob o enfoque da personagem feminina. Abstract: This study aims to perform a reading of the short stories of Scottish author Muriel Spark, in which the importance of the narrative practices manifests itself as their most evident feature: the narrative structure and the building of significances may favor the expression of a mode of being in the world and, more regularly, they also represent the great challenge that reading can accommodate concerning the characters, especially the female ones. However, it is necessary to identify the references that constitute the fictional worlds, usually tied to reality and proposing new forms of intelligibility. In general, these forms are implicit in the text and it is a readers' task to access them; for this to occur, we must recognize that narrative structure and characterization are intrinsically linked. Through the sparkian characters it is possible to get a broad overview of the work of the author and, at the same time, the practices and experiences of women historically situated. Thus, the thesis we defend is that the stories written by Muriel Spark, based on significant buildings in the text, enable a dialogue between text and reality from the perspective of female characters. With the appropriate references, the reading of those sparkian short stories can contribute to the understanding of the ways by which women interact within their own group and with the male group

When compared with basic theory of mind (ToM), there is very limited research on advanced ToM. The two studies of the current research aimed to explore the underlying mentalistic processes leading to advanced ToM understanding in Strange Stories and possible factors that facilitate the development of advanced ToM from basic ToM. The participants were 25 adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and 25 typically developing (TD) peers with matching age (12 to 15) and Verbal IQ. The first study explored the difference in level of difficulty with regard to two groups of stories in the Strange Stories test (Happe, 1994), non-literal and untrue literal. As predicted, stories with non-literal statements were found to be more difficult than untrue literal statements in both ASD and TD groups. With reference to Grice theory, the difference in level of difficulty was suspected to be related to the difference in level of complexity in the mentalistic processes involved. The underlying mentalistic processes of advanced ToM understanding were then explored by extending a hierarchy of 3 mentalistic processes developed from an irony study on TD population (Filippova and Astington, 2008) to other advanced ToM social situations. According to this hierarchy, to detect the speaker’s motivation/ attitude, i.e. advanced ToM understanding, in a statement, one has to first understand the speaker’s belief towards the statement. The speaker’s communication intention would then be identified with reference to this belief. Finally, with understanding at the belief and intention levels as basis, people could interpret the motivation or attitude of the statements. With reference to previous research findings, it was hypothesized that understanding at the motivation/attitude level of non-literal statements would follow the hierarchy of mentalistic processes which reflected more complex mentalistic processes. Understanding of untrue literal statements at motivation/attitude level would involve less complex mentalistic processes as it did not necessarily follow the hierarchy, since understanding of intention and (or) belief was not essential. The results partially supported the hypotheses with some exceptions. Re-categorization according to the adherence to the hierarchy reflected a greater difference between the two new story categories for both ASD and TD groups, which suggested salience in meaning is a better grouping factor to reflect the variation in levels of difficulty among Strange Stories. The factor of “intention and belief” derived from the delineation of mentalistic processes of advanced ToM understanding was found to have significant mediation effects in the link between basic ToM and advanced ToM in the ASD group, which suggested its facilitating role. Yet, the mediation effect was not found in the TD group. The second study investigated the possible facilitating role of knowledge of advanced ToM mental state concepts for the acquisition of advanced ToM. The ASD group was significantly weaker than their TD counterparts in both example and definition level of knowledge of advanced ToM mental state concepts. Similar to the results in Study One, knowledge of advanced ToM mental state concepts was found to be positively associated with advanced ToM understanding but such a relationship was not significant in the TD group. The lack of significant associations among basic ToM, advanced ToM and Intention-Belief as well as the absence of a significant relation between knowledge of advanced ToM mental state concepts and advanced ToM understanding in the TD group indicated the possibility that they are necessary but not sufficient factors for facilitating advanced ToM acquisition. The results shed light on the theoretical framework of advanced ToM acquisition and provided practical implications especially for intervention related to advanced ToM development.

Interventi realizzati con il fine di recuperare il valore di quest'antica Famiglia e portare a nuova vita un'edificio oggi luogo privilegiato di attività artistico-culturali, turistiche, espositive, convegnistiche. Il suo restauro, risponde infatti a tutte queste finalità: la cultura per l'interesse dell'immobile e la socialità, favorendo l'apertura di un luogo di incontro e scambio per la comunità.

A presente pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, discute a escrita de gêneros textuais por alunos do último ano do Ensino Fundamental I, procurando avaliar sobretudo os componentes formais do gênero escrito, tais como estrutura composicional, estilo de linguagem e conteúdo temático. Este estudo divide-se em duas fases: 1. Discussão teórico-bibliográfica e levantamento de estudos acadêmicos; 2. Estudo de campo com a análise dos textos escritos pelos alunos. A bibliografia estudada apontou para a necessidade do letramento escolar e, portanto, para a obrigatoriedade do ensino dos gêneros textuais nas escolas de modo sistematizado (de seus componentes internos e externos), uma vez que seu aprendizado propicia a participação dos sujeitos em práticas sociais de uso da escrita. Constatou-se também, pela leitura de teses, dissertações e artigos acadêmicos, que os alunos escreveram gêneros textuais funcionais nas escolas, contudo, houve diferentes problemas na construção de seus componentes internos que comprometeram o uso social de tais textos. Para resolvê-los, essas pesquisas sugeriram o uso das Sequências Didáticas, já que, por meio delas, é possível identificar os problemas de escrita do gênero e construir atividades direcionadas à sua solução. No mesmo sentido, também estão os resultados obtidos no estudo de campo, constatou-se, na escrita de poemas e de narrativas de terror, a capacidade escritora de gêneros textuais pelos alunos, porém, com fragilidades no desenvolvimento de seus componentes internos. As análises dos textos permitiram traçar uma relação direta entre as atividades desenvolvidas pelas docentes e os resultados das escritas. O desenvolvimento do conteúdo temático, por exemplo, foi 100% alcançado na escrita dos poemas, cujo trabalho com o tema foi sistematizado pela Professora A; já o desenvolvimento verossímil do terror e do medo nos contos de terror, não trabalhado pela outra docente, foi alcançado apenas por 27,2% dos alunos. O trabalho feito pela professora A com a estrutura do poema, em versos e em estrofes, também propiciou resultados satisfatórios nas escritas, diferente do que ocorreu com a linguagem, cujo estilo conotativo, necessário aos poemas, não foi trabalhado pela docente e, portanto, quase não aconteceu nos textos dos alunos. Da mesma forma, os contos de terror, para os quais a Professora B não propôs nenhuma intervenção, apresentaram muitos problemas relativos ao uso da norma padrão da língua, dentre eles, 22,7% tiveram o entendimento de excertos dos textos comprometido pelas dificuldades de escrita apresentadas. Diante disto, conclui-se que a criação das Sequências Didáticas, destinadas ao atendimento das dificuldades dos alunos, é necessária para o avanço na construção dos componentes internos dos gêneros textuais escritos, já que se observou que, quando trabalhados sistematicamente pelas professoras, houve progresso na escrita.
The present research, of a qualitative nature, discusses the writing of textual genres by students of the last year of Elementary School I, trying to evaluate, in particular, the formal components of the written genre, such as compositional structure, language style and thematic content. This study was divided into two phases: 1. Theoretical - bibliographic discussion and survey of academic studies; 2. Field study with the analysis of texts written by the students. The bibliography studied pointed to the necessity of school literacy and, therefore, to the compulsory teaching of the textual genres in schools in a systematized way (of their internal and external components), since their learning provides the participat ion of the subjects in social practices of use of the writing. It was also verified by reading theses, dissertations and academic articles, that students wrote functional textual genres in schools; however, there were different problems in the construction of its internal components that compromised the social use of such texts. In order to solve them, these researches suggested the use of Didactic Sequences, since, through these, it is possible to identify the problems of writing of the genre and the const ruction of activities directed to its solution. In this way, are also the results obtained in the field study; it was verified, in the writing of poems and horror narratives the writing ability of textual genres by the students; however, with weaknesses in the development of its internal components. The analysis of the texts allowed to draw a direct relation between the activities developed by the teachers and the results of the writing. The development of the thematic content, for example, was 100% achieve d in the writing of the poems, whose work with the theme was systematized by Professor A, and the verisimilar development of terror and fear in the tales of terror, not worked by the other teacher, was reached by only 27.2% of the students. The work done b y teacher A with the structure of the poem, in verses and in stanzas, also provided satisfactory results in the writings. Different from what happened with language, whose connotative style, necessary to the poems, was not worked by the teacher and, theref ore, almost did not happen in the texts of the students. Similarly, the horror stories, for which Professor B did not propose any intervention, presented many problems related to the use of the standard language, among them, 22.7% had an understanding of e xcerpts from texts compromised by the difficulties of presented. From this, it was concluded that the creation of Didactic Sequences, at addressing the difficulties observed, are primordial to obtain improvements in the construction of internal components of written text genres, since it was observed that, when they were systematically worked by the teachers, there was progress in writing.

Esta pesquisa se norteou pelo questionamento acerca do papel e da relevância da revista mensal piauí, criada em 2006 e que parece trafegar na contramão de uma tendência jornalística atual, a dos textos mais curtos e de notícias instantâneas. A revista retoma uma tradição de longas narrativas, as chamadas grandes reportagens, valorizando a história, os personagens e, por que não dizer, o talento do jornalista, ao invés de centrar forças na técnica e no texto conciso. Dessa forma, piauí exige uma outra percepção de seu leitor, uma outra formação, além de requerer dele uma outra disposição para apreender as informações contidas em suas narrativas, dedicando um tempo maior à leitura e assimilação do lido. Mas há outro ponto a ser levantado: diferentemente de outras revistas de informação, piauí não se pauta pela explicação, análise e interpretação dos \"grandes temas\" da sociedade ligados ao agendamento, e sim vai trabalhar a sua produção de sentido e mediação a partir de personagens, histórias de vida bem contadas, a curiosidade, o personagem-tipo (e típico) - além de se pautar no texto bem-humorado e, por muitas vezes, irônico. Ela procura trazer aspectos inusitados de um determinado fato, além de oferecer a seus leitores outras maneiras de se informar ou de adquirir conhecimento. Nesse caso se inserem os contos, poemas, quadrinhos e textos abertamente fictícios (apesar de alguns procurarem, num tom divertido, parecer \"factuais\") que a revista publica ao lado de perfis, grandes reportagens e notícias inusitadas. Por isso entendemos que piauí encontra forte identificação com três publicações: as brasileiras Senhor (1959-1964) e Realidade (1966-1976) e a americana The New Yorker (fundada em 1925), que também serão analisadas e comparadas nesta pesquisa. Para levarmos adiante este trabalho, definimos nosso campo de pesquisa nas primeiras 24 edições de piauí - ou seja, nos seus dois primeiros anos de existência, posto que normalmente este é o período necessário para uma nova publicação se estruturar (ou não), criar seu público leitor e estabelecer e fundamentar seus critérios editoriais. São analisadas suas principais seções e suas grandes reportagens, a fim de se estudar como se dá sua produção de sentido. A revista não é estudada aqui como formadora de opinião, mas principalmente como informadora de uma parcela específica da sociedade.
The present research is interested in the role and relevance of the monthly magazine piauí, released in the year 2006, apparently taking the opposite direction when compared to the mainstream journalism current tendency: shorter texts and instant newsflashes. The related magazine draws back to the tradition of long stories, the so called long-form reporting, privileging the narrative, its characters and, why not say, the journalist\'s individual talent instead of focusing on the technique and on producing a more concise text. Thus, piauí demands from the reader another perception and another background. It also sets on him another disposition to learn the information present on its narratives, implying a longer period of time to its reading and assimilation. But there is still another matter to be raised about the magazine: apart from other informative magazines, piauí is not guided by the intent of explaining, analyzing and interpreting the \"big social issues\" related the agenda-setting. It develops its sense-making and its mediation through characters, well told life stories, curiosity, character types (and typical) - besides being driven towards a well-humored and, sometimes, even ironic text. It usually presents unexpected perspectives on a given fact, besides providing its readers with different ways of acquiring information or gaining knowledge. In this sense, we understand the inclusion of tales, poems, comics and other openly fictional texts (although, in a funny way, some of them try to seem \"factual\") published by the magazine right by the side of profiles, long stories and some unusual news. That is why we find that piauí can be identified to three other media publications: the Brazilian Senhor (Sir) (1959-1964), Realidade (Reality) (1966-1976) and the American The New Yorker (founded in 1925), which will also be analyzed and contrasted against each other on this research. We have drawn the first 24 editions of piauí as our field of study in the development - its first two years of existence, considering such period as just the right amount of time necessary for a new publication to be established (or not), to relate to a reading audience and to establish and consolidate its editorial criteria. We analyze the main sections of the magazine and its long stories in the search for its sense-making process. The magazine is not taken here as an opinion maker, but mainly as an information provider to a specific sector of society.

Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) refer to important deficits in social interac-tion, in verbal and nonverbal communication, and in imaginative activities, which are replaced by repetitive and stereotyped behaviors. For several years, researchers have been proposing theories for explaining the primary deficit in the ASD, and cur-rently two theoretical approaches are preponderant: the developmental theory and the cognitive theory. This study has aimed at assessing abilities of language and of a theory of mind in children with ASD and in control children, with the application of the Strange Stories Test translated into Portuguese and adopted for Brazilian culture. Male children with ASD (28) and male control children (56) aged 6 to 12 years old took part in this study. The Brazilian version of the Strange Stories Test was applied following the same procedures to both experimental and control groups. Findings evidenced significant differences between mean scores of the groups in every of the 12 histories composing the test as well as in the sum of mean scores for all histories. Mean scores in all histories were significantly higher in the control group compared to the experimental group (children with ASD). Significant positive correlation was es-tablished between the estimated intelligence quotients and the sum of mean scores in the ASD group, and between the age and the sum of mean scores in the control group. Optimal internal consistence of the protocol was observed (0.955). Results were discussed under developmental and cognitive theories. It is concluded that the abilities of language and of a theory of mind assessed by the Strange Stories Test presented altered in children with ASD compared to children with typical develop-ment.
Os Transtornos do Espectro do Autismo (TEA) se caracterizam por prejuízos significativos na interação social, na comunicação verbal e não verbal e pela ausên-cia de atividades imaginativas, substituídas por comportamentos repetitivos e este-reotipados. Os pesquisadores vêm há muitos anos propondo teorias explicativas do prejuízo primário nos TEA, prevalecendo atualmente duas vertentes teóricas: a teo-ria desenvolvimentista e a teoria cognitivista. O objetivo deste estudo foi a avaliação de habilidades de linguagem e de Teoria da Mente em indivíduos com TEA e indiví-duos-controle, com a aplicação do teste Strange Stories, traduzido e adaptado para a Língua portuguesa. Participaram do estudo 28 crianças com TEA e 56 crianças-controle, todas do sexo masculino e na faixa etária entre seis e 12 anos. A versão brasileira do teste Strange Stories foi aplicada, seguindo os mesmos procedimentos, tanto ao grupo experimental quanto ao grupo-controle. Os resultados indicaram dife-renças significativas entre os escores médios dos grupos experimental e controle em cada uma das 12 histórias do teste e na soma dos escores de todas as histórias. Os escores médios registrados para todas as histórias foram significativamente maiores no grupo-controle do que no grupo experimental (crianças com TEA). Observou-se correlação positiva entre quociente de inteligência e soma dos escores médios para o grupo experimental, e correlação positiva entre idade e soma dos escores médios para o grupo-controle. Observou-se ótima consistência interna do protocolo. Os re-sultados foram discutidos sob a perspectiva cognitivista e desenvolvimentista. Con-cluiu-se que as habilidades de linguagem e de Teoria da Mente avaliadas pelo teste Strange Stories se mostraram alteradas no grupo de crianças com TEA quando comparadas às crianças do grupo-controle.

Il libro scolastico, nella sua duplice fisionomia di supporto didattico e di prodotto editoriale e sociale, costituisce una preziosa fonte per la ricostruzione della storia pedagogica e didattica, culturale e politica dalla seconda metà del Settecento sino al primo ventennio del Novecento. Sulla base di questa premessa la tesi si propone di evidenziare la valenza educativa e didattica della letteratura scolastica per l’infanzia e il ruolo ricoperto dalla scuola nella formazione dei fanciulli italiani tramite l’analisi quantitativa e qualitativa dei principali libri di lettura editi in Lombardia tra Otto e Novecento. Dopo una panoramica generale sulla produzione editoriale scolastica della realtà italiana, la ricerca fa emergere i contenuti, l’apparato iconografico e la forma linguistica di 65 libri di lettura, adottati a livello nazionale nelle scuole elementari e pubblicati nei decenni postunitari (1871-1923) da case editrici lombarde di notevole rilievo, quali Agnelli, Risveglio Educativo, Trevisini e Vallardi.
The textbook, in its dual aspect of educational support and publishing and social product, is a precious source to reconstruct educational, teaching, cultural and political history from the second half of the eighteenth century to the first decades of the twentieth century. This thesis aims to underline the educational and teaching value of school literature and the role played by school in the education of Italian children through a quantitative and a qualitative analysis of the main reading textbooks published in Lombardy between the nineteenth and the twentyth centuries. After a general overview of the editorial school production of the Italian situation, the research focus on the contents, the iconography and linguistic form of 65 reading textbooks, adopted nationally in the elementary schools and published in the decades after the unification (1871-1923) by important Lombard publishers, such as Agnelli, Risveglio Educativo, Trevisini and Vallardi.

Cette étude a pour objectif comparer deux populations selon les facteurs socio-démographiques, personnels, psychopathologiques, psycho-corporels et relationnels et étudier le vécu de la maladie sur la vie personnelle, familiale et sociale chez les schizophrènes français et péruviens à travers les récits de vie recueillis au cours de la recherche. Nous avons formulé deux hypothèses générales : Les récits et évènements de vie rapportés par les patients schizophrènes français et péruviens ne seront pas fondamentalement différents du fait de l’universalité de la pathologie et le dessin de l’arbre utilisé chez les patients schizophrènes français et péruviens permettra de mettre en évidence des différences en fonction de la population étudiée. Population : Elle est composée de 26 patients hommes et femmes âgés de 18 à 57 ans (âge moyen : 36 ans) stabilisés par leur traitement, ayant fait l’objet d’un diagnostic de Schizophrénie de type paranoïde (F20.0x), schizophrénie de type indifférenciée (F20.3X) et trouble délirant (F22.0) selon le DSM IV-R. Instruments : Nous avons utilisé trois types d’outils pour tester nos hypothèses : Dessins de l’arbre, questionnaire d’événements de vie d’Amiel Lebigre et récits de vie. Résultats : Les résultats indiquent que les récits, évènements de vie et des dessins de l’arbre des patients schizophrènes français et péruviens sont différents (situation familiale, professionnelle, événements de vie, troubles psychologiques). Conclusion : Cette étude nous a permis d’appréhender la réalité des patients schizophrènes dans les deux pays : le contexte social et la prise en charge des patients. Nous avons repéré que les histoires des patients schizophrènes péruviens sont plus interrompues et peu élaborés. Elle met en lumière des aspects encore peu étudiés chez les patients schizophrènes (sexualité, image du corps, aspect social, couleur des dessins)
This study aims to compare two populations by socio-demographic, personal, psychopathology, psycho-physical and relational factors and to study the experience of the disease on the personal, family and social life in French and Peruvian schizophrenics through the life stories collected during the research. We made two general hypotheses: Stories and life events reported by the French and Peruvian schizophrenic patients will not be fundamentally different because of the universality of the pathology ; and the tree test made by French and Peruvian schizophrenic patients will highlight differences depending on the population studied. Population : It’s composed of 26 men and women patients aged from 18 to 57 years (mean age 36 years) stabilized by treatment, having been diagnosed with paranoid Schizophrenia (F20.0x), schizophrenia undifferentiated type (F20.3X) and delusional disorder (F22.0) according to DSM IV-R. Instruments : We used three types of tools to test our hypotheses: tree test, life events and life stories. Results : The results indicate that the stories, life events and tree test of French and Peruvian schizophrenic patients are different (family situation, professional, life events, psychological disorders). Conclusion : This study allowed us to understand the reality of schizophrenic patients in the two countries: the social context and the care given to patients. We've detected that stories of Peruvian schizophrenic patients are interrupted and unsophisticated. It highlights aspects that have not been deeply studied yet in schizophrenia (sexuality, body image, social, color drawings)

Abstract:
The thesis analyzes the Szondi's test and its theory in the light of current knowledge. Its aim is to examine the potential of this diagnostic method and to consider the possibilities of its application. On the basis of the free-association research, the direction of interest has divided into two studies. The first of them verifies the relationship of Szondi's theory with personal characteristics that are attributed to individual photos (stimulus material) on the scale of the semantic differential. In most cases, the results confirm significant differences between the factors. In the second study, the narrative approach is selected, it means "telling stories" method will be used for discover the projective potential. Qualitative analysis indicates that stories have some similarities- in the context of given factors, however, in most cases, they do not follow Szondi's assumptions. In order to confirm the potential of the possibility to know the proband's personality or life, the data obtained has not proved sufficient. The data does suggest, however, that after further research, the benefit of its application could be confirmed. KEY WORDS: Szondi test, projection, semantic differential, stories analysis

Background The term theory of mind (ToM) refers to the ability to infer one’s own and other people’s mental states. A great deal of evidence shows that impaired ToM is a trait of schizophrenia which attributes to poor social function of patients. To address this problem, it is important for clinicians and researchers to use a good ToM test for schizophrenia patients to assess their abilities in ToM. Among several ToM tests, the Taiwanese version of the Strange Stories Test is one with many advantages because it is brief, easy to administer, and reliable in a normal group. However, the psychometric properties of this test in schizophrenia patients remain unknown. Objective The purpose of this study is to validate the reliability and validity of the Taiwanese version of the Strange Stories Test in patients with schizophrenia. Methods Two measures including the Taiwanese version of the Strange Stories Test and the Social Cognition Screening Questionnaire (SCSQ) were tested twice on 34 schizophrenia patients from National Taiwan University Hospital by the researcher, with a 3-week interval between assessments. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was also administered on the participants in the initial evaluation to assess the cognitive function of the participants. After giving their consent, the participants’ verbal responses of the Strange Stories Test in the initial evaluation were recorded to examine inter-rater reliability. The researcher used scores of the Clinical Global Impression scale (CGI) to confirm that the clinical states of the participants remained stable before retest. In addition, participants’ scores of Personal and Social Performance Scale (PSP) and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) were collected from two psychiatrists, and the demographic information of participants was collected from medical charts. The test-retest reliability, random measurement error, minimal detectable change (MDC), practice effect, internal consistency, inter-rater reliability and ceiling and floor effect were examined by analyzing the test and retest scores of the Strange Stories Test. The ecological and convergent validity were examined by analyzing the correlation between the scores of the Strange Stories Test and PSP and the scores of the Strange Stories Test and SCSQ respectively. The discriminative validity was analyzed by comparing the difference between the scores of the patients and the scores of the normal group in a previous study. Results This measure had generally acceptable inter-rater agreement, internal consistency and convergent validity. The test-retest agreement was poor with non- negligible random measurement error and the MDC% of this measure exceeded the acceptable standard. This measure also showed a notable ceiling effect and small to moderate practice effects. Finally, the ecological validity and the discriminative validity were unsatisfactory. Conclusions Our results revealed that the Taiwanese version of the Strange Stories Test had insufficient reliability and validity. Therefore, we might consider a further revision of this test. It is also a useful way to develop a new ToM measure with both clinical usefulness and scientific soundness.

As technology advances, the capacity of data storage is getting bigger and bigger. In the meanwhile, how to provide a more convenient way of data storage service has become an important issue as the cloud technology is increasingly prevalent. Nowadays, cloud storage service is usually provided with a local operating system platform that runs automatically to help users to sync to the cloud storage space. As a measure to improve the user''s intention to use, the service is usually compatible with a variety of local operating systems. This seemingly simple service is quite complex in face, because different restrictions and policies for handling files may exist between different operating systems. In maintaining the SyncFree system – a software that supports cross-platform file synchronization, in order to test the ability of its cross-platform file synchronization, a series of acceptance test cases based on robustness story has been designed corresponding to a variety of platform-specific characteristics. A good result was obtained from the test. In this research, based on the concerned platform-specific characteristics as well as the testing experience learned in maintaining the Syncfree system, a series of robustness stories are designed for testing the cross-platform robustness and correctness of Dropbox – a file synchronization software for cloud. The testing result showed that Dropbox has many file synchronization operations that appear to be not robust enough. In view of these robustness-insufficient operations, we propose the corresponding improvement measures. In addition, we also propose a practice for testing file synchronization software.

Abstract:
In South Africa, where a large portion of the population lives in townships, more often than not, the therapist and client do not share a similar cultural context. Cultural knowledge is therefore pertinent to generating a complex and thorough interpretation of any psychological assessments. This study aims to explore possible cultural narratives evoked in the responses to the Thematic Apperception Test so that cross-cultural use of the test would be more effective in the Mamelodi township. The research is done from a narrative point of view, where lived experience is understood by organising it into structured narratives or stories that repeat throughout a person’s life. The pictures of the TAT were viewed as a context that could elicit such life narratives from respondents. TAT stories from five adolescent residents in Mamelodi were thematically analysed as a method of identifying common stories that could reflect the cultural narratives that young persons in Mamelodi draw from to make sense of their world. The results indicated common narratives concerning the following: the experience of violence and danger, the experience of close relationships, dealing with challenges, and the role that clothes play. These findings, and possible findings from similar future research, might aid psychologists towards a better understanding of the TAT in the township context. Copyright

O presente estudo, foi construído com o objetivo de promover as competências emocionais através da leitura e discussão dirigida de histórias infantis. Competências emocionais vêem-se retratadas entre reconhecimento e nomeação de emoções com base em pistas expressivas e causalidade da emoção (Pons, Harry, e Rosnay, 2004), sendo estas capacidades necessárias ao individuo em desenvolvimento. O trabalho teve início com a criação de um programa de leitura de 8 sessões, onde foram trabalhadas as emoções de Alegria, Tristeza, Zanga e Medo. O objetivo deste programa foi comprovar a possível efetividade do método de leitura acompanhada de discussão dirigida, quando comparado com a ação mais simplista de ler. A análise quantitativa da eficácia do programa procedeu-se com a aplicação do Teste do Conhecimento das Emoções para crianças em idade pré-escolar, numa amostra de 20 crianças oriundas de uma pré-escola de Lisboa. Os resultados demostraram que embora ocorram diferenças entre os grupos experimental e de controlo, estas não se mostraram significativas para o estudo, sendo então avançadas algumas interpretações para as possíveis razões, como por exemplo a amplitude de idades entre os participantes, sendo ainda avançadas possibilidades de continuar o estudo com outras variáveis, como a introdução de materiais didáticos.
This study was built in order to promote emotional skills through reading and discussion directed to children's stories. Emotional skills find themselves portrayed between recognition and naming of emotions based on significant clues and cause of emotion (Pons, Harry, and Rosnay, 2004). These abilities finds themselves necessary for the individual in development. The study began with the creation of a reading program with 8 sessions where emotions like Happiness, Sadness, Anger and Fear were worked. The objective of this program was to prove the possible effectiveness of assisted reading method of directed discussion, when compared with the action of more simplistic reading. Quantitative analysis of program effectiveness proceeded with the implementation of the Emotions Knowledge test for children in preschool age in a sample of 20 children from a preschool in Lisbon. The results showed that although there are differences between the experimental and control groups, these were not significant for the study. Some interpretations are suggested for the possible reasons, such as the range of ages among participants. Some possibilities for continuing the study with other variables are also suggested, such as introducing teaching materials.

O presente estudo enquadra-se na linha de trabalhos que procuram adaptar determinados instrumentos como, o Recognition of Faux Pas Test (Gregory et al., 2002; Stone, Baron-Cohen, & Knight, 1998) e a Theory of Mind Picture Stories Task (Brüne, 2003), cujos objetivos fundamentais são compreender e avaliar a teoria da mente (ToM), enquanto dimensão fundamental da cognição social humana. Neste contexto, tivemos como principal objetivo adaptar estes instrumentos para a população portuguesa. Para o efeito, foram avaliados 200 participantes (125 mulheres e 75 homens), com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e 60 anos. Num momento seguinte, a amostra foi subdividida em três grupos (Narcisista vs. Compulsiva vs. Histriónica) de acordo com o ponto de corte nas escalas de personalidade do Inventário Clínico Multiaxial de Millon III (MCMI-III). De acordo com o nosso principal objetivo e pelos dados da análise fatorial realizada é possível identificar para o Recognition of Faux Pas Test um valor de consistência interna (calculada pelo alfa de Cronbach) de 0.82, enquanto no instrumento Theory of Mind Picture Stories Task identificou-se dois fatores com índices de consistência interna de 0.45 e 0.51, respetivamente. Apesar do Theory of Mind Picture Stories Task não apresentar uma boa consistência interna obtivemos um valor de KMO razoável para a respetiva amostra. Neste sentido, os instrumentos adaptados à população portuguesa revelaram apresentar uma consistência interna, validade e sensibilidade aceitáveis, bem como um instrumento acessível aos participantes. Na segunda análise do estudo verificámos que os sujeitos narcísicos revelam uma menor acuidade no instrumento Recognition of Faux Pas Test que os restantes grupos. Estes resultados são discutidos tendo por base um quadro concetual que sugere que a capacidade de realizar inferências acerca dos estados mentais e predição de comportamentos dos outros varia com a estrutura de personalidade.
