Abstract:
The article analyses the defining characteristics of a method in textology that is rooted in the idea of a search. The method is described in detail with the example of Aleksey Balakin’s study ‘Was Goncharov the author of Nimfodora Ivanovna?’ [‘Byl li Goncharov avtorom povesti Nimfodora Ivanovna?’]: we follow every step taken by the researcher in his quest for truth about the authorship. The article acknowledges the compelling arguments offered by Balakin to debunk the novella’s long-established but hasty and unfounded attribution to Goncharov and the researcher’s meticulous verification of the style and writing period of the anonymous author against the events in Goncharov’s life and literary career (as well as his known stylistic, ideological and artistic preferences). The article mentions that the search relies on the method of comparative-critical analysis. In addition, the study compares and contrasts the meanings of a search in history and textology. In support of such a comparison, the author refers to theses from Marc Bloch’s The Historian’s Craft.

Abstract:
Signifying practices by which living creatures communicate, are, according to Sebeok, the survival-machines. Accordingly, as represented by the semiotic text analysis or Bakhtin's textology, one can speak about a human survival-machine. This has been studied by different semiotic schools (including the Moscow-Tartu school) referring to language, culture, genre and, importantly, text ideology. In this article, the aspects of textology in Peirce's generalized theory of signs become analysed. After a discussion of the concept of text in Peirce's (published and unpublished) writings, its relationship with semiosis and other Peircean categories isshown. The project of elaborating Peirce-based text-semiotics expects that it must be dramatically different from other sign-theoretical text-theories. This may be a path towards more inter-subjective and creative textology.

Abstract:
The problem that has faced translators over the years is that of holding a happy balance between faithfulness to the SLT and establishing proper communication with the target reader. The purpose of this study is to investigate how translators employ managing or substituting strategies when they are commissioned to engage in translating the popular book Princess in Love by Anna Pasternak for a daily newspaper to provide excitement. In this situation, the translators usually operate within commercial constraints imposed by editors. Intrinsic and extrinsic managing/substituting strategies employed by the translators are discussed through translated texts in order to show the motivation behind using such types of strategies in translation.

Abstract:
The article attempts to consider the institution of complicity from new positions based on the provisions of legislative textual theory. From the standpoint of this approach, when studying the criminal law prescriptions of Chapter 7 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, a two-level structure of the normative text of the institute of complicity was revealed: superficial (constructive) and deep (conceptual) levels. As a conceptual basis for the construction of the criminal law prescriptions of Chapter 7 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the legislator used the theoretical provisions of two concepts: the concept of the accessory nature of complicity and the individual responsibility of the accomplices of the crime. The analysis of the constructive level made it possible to identify elements of the criminal law prescriptions of the institute of complicity, and also made it possible to interpret the normative text in a new way.

Abstract:
This research highlights the coherence tools in Al-Saadi's interpretations, based on modern textology and thorough investigation of these tools, as well as the method used by Al-Saadi in his interpretation called Tayseer al-Kareem al-Rahman in Tafseer Klam al-Mannan to explore the pattern of meanings in Surah Al-Ahqf to Surah An-Najm. He explores the most widely mentioned tools and relates them to contemporary textology. This study intends to emphasize the coherence techniques utilized by Al-Saadi in his interpretation of the Holy Quran, whether in a single verse or multiple verses. The research also intends to examine the significance of these tools and their function in identifying miraculousness positions in these poems and methods for exploiting them in studying poetic and prose texts. Al-Saadi has made significant contributions to the exploitation of textual coherence methods, which are intimately related to investigating the Holy Quran's meaning and linguistic and rhetorical miracles. Text cohesion and coherence are the essential components of rhetorical coherence. The researcher suggests conducting additional research on the works of earlier and contemporary interpreters to investigate textual coherence tools and how they might be utilized to elucidate semantic meaning.

Kuchina, S. A. "Electronic Literary Text in the Framework of Post-Structuralism Textology." Bulletin of Kemerovo State University 21, no. 3 (October 5, 2019): 821–29. http://dx.doi.org/10.21603/2078-8975-2019-21-3-821-829.

Full text
Abstract:
The article features the phenomenon of electronic literary text. The research objective was to identify the structural and semantic features of electronic literary texts within the framework of post-structuralism. The electronic literary text resulted not only from the development of information technology: it is also the product of the development of philosophical and linguistics ideas of post-structuralism. The post-structuralism perspective was not repeated exactly on the technological level of the electronic text representation. However, the post-structuralist text theory was reflected in the electronic literary text structure, i.e. its rhizomatic, decentered, fragmentary, intertextual, and simulation character. In particular, the attempt to build cohesion of semiotically diverse components in the electronic environment reflects the post-structuralists idea of chaos and disorganization. The attempt to provide the navigation in this multi-component unity by the key-word hyperlinks reflects the idea of the total interconnectivity of all structural components, i.e. intertextuality. The phenomenon of intertextuality defines the culmination of decenterment and nomadism in the text theory. It is connected with the rhizomatic concept and hypertextuality. The research used electronic literary texts based on Adobe Flash and HTML. The research employed general scientific methods, such as monitoring and description, in conjunction with the method of comparative linguistic analysis. The author concludes that the text perception and electronic virtual world immersion become much more important than the artifacts in the electronic literature of XXI century. The electronic literary text became the poststructuralist concept of the new esthetic object, lost its integrity and composition stability, and opened itself to external input.

Abstract:
The presented text is a publication of archival materials from the Eisensteins Fund in the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art (RGALI). The author of the publication reconstructed and commented some episodes from creative and personal biography of S.M. Eisenstein in the beginning of the 1930's. In particular, some fragments from private correspondence of Eisenstein and Esther Shub сut when published in the 1970s have been restored; the reasons for the reaction of the director to the of Shubs suggestion to make a film based on the novel Manhattan by John Dos Passos have been elucidated. The details and features of the artistic life of Russia in the 1930s are reflected in the epistolary genre of Eisenstein's work. The text presented also dwells on some cases of selective approach towards publishing books in the Soviet era. The author, using comparative historical and textual analysis, restores the true picture of Eisenstein's relationship to the work of a number of representatives of Russian and foreign cinema and literature, and also explains the reasons for some important events in the creative life of the director.

Abstract:
This paper analyzes the ritual dialogues of the Russian wedding tradition noted in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. These dialogues were performed before a church wedding behind the closed doors of the bride’s house and at the “ransoming” (vykup) of a place for the groom in the bride’s house. A comparative analysis of these dialogues shows that they are formed from different groups of texts. For example, the episode “unlocking closed doors” uses attributive questions, mythological riddles, questions on cosmological and biblical topics, riddles based on word play, etc. These ritual dialogues use material from several genres and refer to various aspects of traditional culture and everyday life. They also mention facts of local history and culture, and this allows us to verify that the wedding guests play a part in the daily life of the community. The dialogues spoken at the ransoming of the groom’s place come after the identification of those who have arrived for the bride and the groom has proved his readiness to marry. The redemption of the place is a kind of second stage testing the groom, a test of his solvency and knowledge of everyday life. That is probably why texts with mythological and cosmological themes hardly occur here, while everyday verbal object-identification riddles - which help identify objects needed for further ritual activities - predominate.

Abstract:
Personal collections of documents related to the performances of SukhovoKobylin’s and Bulgakov’s own plays have never been compared. Bulgakov practically never mentions Sukhovo-Kobylin in his texts. However, the “meeting” of the two playwrights took place in the space of the theatrical album. Unlike the literary album that has been studied many times, there are no special studies about the typology of the theatrical album and its cultural semantics. The textological study of album “autocollections” as drama companions contributes to the acquisition of semantic “keys” not only to certain texts, but also to those meta-links that they form as well as to the compilation of mobile text transcriptions. The album laboratories of the two playwrights make this similarity clear. The theatrical albums by Sukhovo-Kobylin (a blue blotter with envelopes of versions of plays that are part of the “Pictures of the Past” trilogy, held in the Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts) and Bulgakov (eight albums in the Handwritten Section of the IRLI) reveal two layers. One is an “encyclopedia” of theatrical history of plays, posters, reviews, accompanied by the author’s notes, and a detailed “dossier of censorship ordeals”. The other layer is newspaper clippings with author’s marginalities, marks that simulate a vocabulary universe and the library of plots reflecting newspaper reality and later turned into works. Thus, it is known that Sukhovo-Kobylin was one of the characters in V. Chernoyarov’s feuilleton “The National Team”, published in the magazine “Novyy Zritel” in 1926 and pasted into Bulgakov’s album related to the play The Days of the Turbins at the Moscow Art Theater in 1926. The specified album is an auto-documentary source of Theatrical Novel. The metamorphoses of the texts in the album, accompanied by the author’s notes, marginalities, typologically bring together the theatrical albums of Sukhovo-Kobylin and Bulgakov. They are related semiotically and visually to the scenario of a conventional play, the director’s staged copy, or the exhibition plan of the exposition. The playwrights quite obviously collect the dossier, the “data bank”, fixing the junctions, the path from the manuscript to the publication and the scene (especially in Bulgakov’s case), as if they were making up a biography of their own text. Bulgakov appreciates the author’s recipes and technical guidelines for making an author, formulated in feuilletons of the 1920s. By coincidence, Sukhovo-Kobylin got into this feuilleton environment.

Abstract:
Abstract The paper deals with the methods developed in the field of Slavic philological research in the last centuries. The mission of Cyril and Methodius in Great Moravia and the activity of their disciples in the First Bulgarian Empire of Boris and Simeon laid to the foundation of a Slavic cultural and religious autonomy. The major problem of Cyril and Methodius’ studies has been to find the traces of their translations and to identify the area where the Palaeoslavic texts originated. The debate between R. Picchio and D. Lichačev revealed the clash between two different traditions in Slavic philological and literary studies; it opened a dialogue between Slavic and European scholars and led to a vast methodological and terminological renewal in the discipline. It was debated whether it was possible to apply to Slavic texts the methods developed in the field of Greek and Latin tradition, or a separate discipline Textology would be necessary for studying the history of Slavic texts and the conscious changes introduced by their coauthors and coeditors. A Linguistic Textology has also been created which limits the philological research to linguistic data. The article touches the new methods developed for the reconstruction of the Cyrill and Methodius’ Bible by means of the digitally supported profile-method applied to the editions of the Slavic Gospels. It is only at the beginning of this century that there has been a return to the method of textual criticism.

Abstract:
Comprehensive studies of M. Auezov creativity have been conducted in modern Kazakh literature. Literary studies still studies the writer’s legacy in different directions. Textual comparisons of his literary heritage were carried out comprehensively. In particular, in fifty volumes of the complete works of M. Auezov, special attention was paid to this issue. Textual comparisons were widely covered and carried out comprehensively. However, there are still works in the field of Auezov studies that require comparisons in this direction. One of them is the textology of the epopee novel «The Way of Abai». The manuscript of the first, second book of this voluminous novel has been preserved. Conducting a comprehensive comparison of this original with the subsequent main editions of «The Way of Abai» is one of the urgent problems of our time. In this article, textual comparisons were made between the manuscript and eight different editions of the novel «Abai» published in different years. The compressed, edited, abbreviated texts found in the novel are compared with the six-volume, twelve-volume, twenty-volume books of the author of 1942, 1955, published in each year by the publishing houses «Writer» and «Seven charters». This textual research leads to the fact that in the article 22 of the volume of the Complete fifty-volume collection, individual words and phrases in the chapter «Return» are compared with the handwritten version of 1939-1941. It turns out what repairs were made by the writer in this work. They are displayed on specific text examples. Keywords: manuscript, original, novel, text, textology, theory, literary criticism.

Abstract:
The paper focuses on the composition, lexical, and grammatical features of a Nativity sermon in the 13 th century Old Russian Tolstovskiy Sbornik (National Library of Russia, F.p.I.39). The author considers its Byzantine sources, principles of editorial work, and the differences from original rhetorical structures. Attributed to John Chrysostom, the sermon turns out to be a complicated compilation from various early Byzantine sermons. The compilation is based both on rearranging fragments of the same source and on combining excerpts from different sermons in a small context. Such transformations indicate the lack of cohesion in sermon texts, due to their independence from the causation and time factor. Non-attributed parts of the Old Russian text may be original since they demonstrate a certain similarity with Kirill Turovskiy orations in the same anthology. The lexical level of the sermon contains non-standard solutions that reinterpret the Greek source text, which may indicate either the missionary nature of the translation or a tendency to the poetic decoration. In some cases, the semantic mismatch of lexical units within Greek-Slavonic correlations is due to errors. At the grammatical level, there are also grammatical inconsistencies of Slavonic and Greek units; they affect the categories of time, number, gender, as well as parts-of-speech status.

Abstract:
The abridged life of Menas, Hermogenes, and Eugraphus, martyrs of Alexandria, was translated from Greek as part of the Church Slavonic Synaxarion no later than in the early 12th century. Notably, the main version of this life does not contain any data on St Eugraphus. One of the earliest copies of the Synaxarion has lost the headline of the life of martyr Gemellus, whose memory is mentioned on the same day, while the corresponding text was added to the life of the saints of Alexandria. The scribe’s error has led to the emergence of a classifying feature that allows dividing the versions of the oldest translation of the Synaxarion into two groups. The first group consists of the main version ofthe life (Sof. 1324 and most other copies of the Ordinary Synaxarion). The second group encompassesthe extended by the life of Gemellus edition (copies of the Bulgarian version of the Synaxarion andseveral copies of the abridged version). In the Serbian version of the Synaxarion the main version ofthe life was supplemented with fictitious data about martyr Eugraphus. Apart from the versions of theOrdinary Synaxarion, two independent translations of the Versed Synaxarion were made from Greek toChurch Slavonic in the 14th century. One of them relates to the Bulgarian book tradition and the otherone follows the Serbian one. Each of the two translations includes the new life of Alexandria’s martyrssupplemented with verses. Between the 1630s and 1640s, Ukrainian scribes of the Commonwealth ofthe Two Nations created yet another version of the life, where the main version was supplemented withdata of martyr Eugraphus from the Bulgarian translation of the Versed Synaxarion. Thus, the abridgedlife of the martyrs of Alexandria is known in three translations, with the oldest one of them availablein four versions.

Abstract:
The author of the article for the first time produces a detailed textual analysis of the collection of D.S. Merezhkovsky “Non-war diary. 1914–1916” (1917), relying on materials scattered throughout the newspaper and magazine periodicals and anthologies of World War I, which were not predominantly republished and still remained unknown even to specialists. As a result, information about the first publications of articles composing the “Non-War Diary. 1914–1916”, the mistakes and inaccuracies of commentators who reprinted this book in the post-Soviet years are corrected. In addition, with the help of rare sources reprints of individual articles that are included in this collection are identified. The changes that the majority of Merezhkovsky’s texts of 1914–1916 underwent were explained not only by the intervention of the censorship department, which had resumed its activity during the war, but also by the author’s editing, which was creative in nature. This article restores and comments on the most acute passages that were seized upon publication. Archival documents (RGALI) are involved, the value of which is determined by the tasks of both textology and interpretive poetics. An analysis of the corrections made by the writer during the compilation of the collection made it possible to establish several types of corrections (from purely technical to stylistic and informative, each of which is characterized), but most importantly, it helped illustrate the transformations in the author’s views that occurred from 1914 to 1917. In conclusion, the responses of contemporaries of Merezhkovsky to the articles composing his book were systematized for the first time, and a new hypothesis was formulated explaining the choice of title — “Non-War Diary”.

The study is devoted to the comprehension of activities of Tambov scientists involved in the study of the Y.I. Zamyatin’s works. We analyze the materials of the “Zamyatin readings” of 1992–2014. We draw conclusion that Tambov literature studies scholars managed to accumulate and generalize a huge bibliographic, historical-literary and linguistic material, structure and comprehend archival material, and analyze the vast Zamyatin’s heritage. Moreover, the prospects of the Tambov science school are obvious: firstly, the further study of the Y.I. Zamyatin’s heritage in the context of both the “near” and the contemporary culture – domestic and western, and secondly, the remaining problematic nature of many issues of Zamyatin studies and primarily related to textology.

Abstract:
The present research features the method which we call linguohistoric and which is applied to such narratives as documentary prose – memoirs, biographies, pieces of journalese etc. It purports to collect background information and meaningful facts from real life narrations, observations, descriptions, judgements, opinions, which inescapably contain human-interest, emotive-evaluative tinges, epithets, metaphoric images. Facts accentuated by the observer can only be human-interest: if he were not interested, he would not have placed emphasis on these facts. We believe this background information helps determine the essence of historical phenomena, as well as their causal relationships and interdependencies. For the linguohistoric method of narrative study we borrow procedures from textology and conceptology (conceptual linguistics), viz. textological and conceptological analyses.

Abstract:
The author of this paper explains the interpretation of types of homonyms (homophones and homographs), based on the epic Stephen the Little by the Serbian poet Petar II Petrovic Njegos, dating from the epoch of Romanticism. The analysis includes grammatical homonyms, where homonymy is established by individual word forms created through the motion of nouns and their base forms, and paradigmatic homonyms, where homonymy is established by a whole system of word forms created by semantic formation. The analysis also encompasses material from the epics The Mountain Wreath and The Ray of the Microcosm, and certain poems by Njegos.

Abstract:
For the first time, the textual features of two shamanic texts dedicated to the deities of the Upper World are considered. The purpose of the work was to compare these works and identi-fy common syntagmatic (compositional, stylistic) and semantic (characters, sacred chronotope) elements. The main research method is the structural-semiotic method, which allows considering these cultural texts as signs. Despite the fact that these texts differ greatly in their volume and poetic language, they have common elements. Different shamans performed these texts and at different times with the communicative aim to obtain the blessing of the light dei-ties, the souls for the birth of children. Common elements are observed both in semantics (in the organization of sacred space, in the time of rituals, in the system of characters) and in syntagmatics and style. The addressees of the rituals were deities and spirits, and the acting characters were people. The names of the deities of the Upper World embodied the personifi-cation of the sky and natural phenomena, characteristic of archaic mythologies. The syntag-matic structure of the texts is characterized by certain stability of the poetic structure of the texts, supported by repeated episodes of the shamanic rite, common places, and poetic formu-las. The presence of formulas indicates a common poetic shamanic tradition of the Altaians and the Teleuts.

Abstract:
In its early stages, “text linguistics” was a sufficiently compact and localized enterprise that describing it would not have seemed inordinately difficult. Today, however, text linguistics has attained such prominence that it formed the largest contingent at the last International Congress of Linguists in Berlin in 1987. This rise has been accompanied by a widening of scope, a profusion of models, theories, and terms, and a diversification of the phenomena it is intended to capture or designate. The very term “text linguistics” may seem too narrow, and wider alternatives have been proposed, such as “text studies,” “text science,” “textology,” and above all “discourse analysis.” Similarly, some scholars have proposed that text linguistics be incorporated into a broader domain, such as semiotics/semiology, ethnography/enthnomethodology, communications, cognitive science, and so forth.

Abstract:
The essay was written to mark the 25th anniversary of the Slavic Institute named after Jan Stanislav SAS (Bratislava). The Institute was founded to conduct interdisciplinary research on the relationships of the Slovak language and culture with other Slavic languages and cultures, as well as to study the Slovak-Latin, Slovak-Hungarian, and Slovak-German cultural and linguistic interactions in ancient times and the Middle Ages. The article introduces the main milestones in the formation and development of the Institute, its employees, the directions of their scientific work, and their significant publications. The main areas of research of the Slavic Institute (initially the Slavic Cabinet) cover linguistics (lexicography, history of language), history, folklore, cultural studies, musicology, and textology. Much attention is paid to the annotated translation of foreign religious texts into Slovak. A valuable contribution of the Institute to Slavic Studies is the creation of a database of Cyrillic and Latin handwritten and printed texts related to the Byzantine-Slavic tradition in Slovakia.

The heritage of Nizami Ganjavi is the spiritual wealth of the Azerbaijani people, and the protection and research of this heritage are in the spotlight as a part of the political action of Azerbaijan’s government. Unfortunately, the recent publication of the series of articles with distortions about the life and origin of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi on websites, as well as the dissemination of false information, not only compromise the level and achievements of world orientalists, but also impede the development of Azerbaijani Nizami studying. Executors of Armenian interests falsify Nizami Ganjavi’s nationality, publish motiveless books and articles, consider Azerbaijani scientists as “ethnic nationalists,” and reinterpret our history and culture. However, these attempts are doomed to failure due to the absent of scientific justification. The purpose of this article is not to list the distortions, but to study the sources and causes of these aberrations. Key words: Nizami Ganjavi, wikipedia, distortion, textology, language
