Full textThe present work endeavored to study the matting phenomenon of powder coatings films made of solid polyester resins through a system known as Triglycidyl isocyanurate (TGIC). This phenomenon is an undesired result and occurs when at the time of blending paint batches produced independently with polyester resins that share the same formula, specifications e industrial process. Samples of a polyester resin triad, that shared a particular matting relation, were studied by thermogravimetry/ thermogravimetry derivative (TG/DTG), differential scanning calorimetry nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), gel permeation chromatog r(aDpShCy), proton (GPC), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Through in-depth analyses of all results obtained from each chosen method, no accountable differences, that could justify the undesired matting phenomenon, were noticed. These evaluations paved us the way to conclude that the studied phenomenon was not occurring due to industrial contamination, and that some latent dry blend matting relation is still to be revealed by an ensuing study.

Full textThe limits of this model, according to a hypothetico-deductive process. The "axio-lateral" model proposed here decomposes in three parts. The first one is theoretical, seeing that the reality of a geographical settling of the railway line can finally be determined by an interaction combining l lengthwise, representing all the links brought by the line ; and n considered in a lateral way as all the harmful effects caused by this line. Then this interaction is developped on a mathematical ground. It reveals the multi-scalar contradiction of the impact of the settling following the observation scale which is the key element to understand the railway phenomenon. Finally, with a systematical approach, both notions of link and harmful effect have to be determined on a space-time ground before meeting in a concrete realization : the French TGV Mediterranee. During the application on the ground, the model seems to give results in three different fields. First, as far as the reality of the project is concerned, an established facts induces to insolate several "TGV Mediterranee", which present very different results for l n. Then the model enables to consider the multiplicity of the interpretations, seeing that the first tendency of the people involved in such settling is to see the plan according to their own interest, without considering the multiscalar reality of the railway, which implies difficult talks. The model appears then as a key element to understand this plan from a historical point of view, and to explain how the number of opponents can vary according to the different interpretations, as it can be proved by the diffusion's model of gould, and the "axio-lateral" model. In such conditions, the model gives different answers to try and reduce useless conflicts. Therefore, even if it is impossible to choose the ideal laying out, and difficult

The study of solar neutrinos is very important to a better comprehension of the set of nuclear reactions that occurs inside the Sun and in solar type stars. The ux of neutrinos provides a better comprehension of the stellar structure as a whole. In this dissertation we study the ux of neutrinos in a solar model, addressing the neutrino oscillation, analyzing with the intention of determining and verify the distribution from a statistical point of view, since this ux depends on the particles intrinsic velocity distributions in stellar plasma. The main tool for this analysis was the Toulouse-Geneva Stellar Evolution Code, or TGEC, which allow us to obtain the neutrino ux values per reaction and per layer inside the Sun, allowing us to compare the observational results for the neutrino ux detected on experiments based on Cl37 (Homestake), Ga71 (SAGE, Gallex/GNO) and water (SNO). Our results show the nal distribution for neutrino ux as a function of the depth using the coordinates of mass and radius. The dissertation also shows that the equations for this ux are present in TGEC.

Full textCircularity defects (AEL) appear in railway wheels during running. These circularity defects require periodic controls and machinings to eliminate them. The aim of the study is to determine the origin of the circularity defects and to developpe an accelerated test to compare different steels. For this study, we have used the concept of driven alloys which as show, for materials submitted to repeated stresses, that phase transformation occurring, depend on the value of an intensity of forcing. First of all, we have defined and calculated an intensity of forcing for the wheel. Next, we have performed a metallurgical study of several railway wheels, and we have shown a metallurgical transformation at the surface of the wheels, characterized by a transformed layer with metallurgical properties very different from those of the bulk steel. The wear of the wheel is due to a cyclic mechanism including metallurgical transformation, cracking and tearing off of the transformed material, and the increase of the AEL is due to a locally faster wear rate, caused by a shape defect or a microstructural heterogeneity. An accelerated test, based on high energy ball milling, has been developed to compare different steels. We success to determine and compare the cementite dissolution rate and we show that the cementite dissolution control the material wear rate. In the same way, attempts were used to simulate the wheel-rail contact. A metallurgical transformation, similar to this observed at the surface of the wheel, was obtained, and shows that shearing is necessary to obtain the metallurgical transformation of the material

Full textDepartment of the Haute-Saône lies at the crossing lotharingien axis and the radial axis between the Ile-de-France and the German-speaking Switzerland. In the nineteenth century, during the construction of modern roads (railway, river routes and roads), the Department could hope to become a crossroads between the axes, lotharingien, the Rhine-Rhône corridor and the radial axis Paris-Basel. If the Haute-Saône took advantage unquestionably the modern waterway network installed on its territory, it was nevertheless in the position of margin at the border between the companies of the East and the P.L.M which deprived it of the grand axis Meridian lotharingien which would have further opened its territory. Similarly, at the local level, fears have led to deny the passage of the highway. Over the past half century and the early 2000s, top-saônois axes have left leading to the disconnection of the Department and then to his isolation. However, the arrival of the T.G.V can allow the Department of the Haute-Saône to open up. Currently, axis by the Haute-Saône found a growing interest, as it provides the outlet to the South of the Lorraine region and the Benelux. Development projects are under study as the electrification of the line between Épinal and Belfort, ensuring a rail connection between the Lorraine and the Rhine-Rhone TGV, or even the study of the river link between the Saône and the Moselle. These developments could perhaps term (re) open up the Haute-Saône and give back to the Franche-Comté position of carrefour

Full textDisputes again "tgv mediterranee" provide with political scientist a lot of theoretical investigations. This research analyses especially the role of a technical project in a transportation public policy and the one of protester associations in its implementation. It belongs to the theoretical frame of public policies but improved by others concepts coming from others theories. The notions of black box and script, coming from sociology of innovation, let us to analyse the technical project's contribution to public policy; the concept of "montee en generalite", coming from theory of justification, let us to analyse associative protest and the notion of transplant, used by amenagist theories is useful for analysing territorial dynamic of the dispute. The main outcomes are as follows. The "referentiel" of the high speed trains' public policy is socio-technical and its implementation depend on transplant that is the action planning writing in the technical apparatus. The associations' power consists in their ability to "monter en generalite" (that is adopt a general point of view) from a reactive opposition of the nimby type to the renewal of the public interest defended by the project's promoters. So the associative controversies bring about incremental changes of the public policy

Full textThis study focuses on the numerical modeling of the Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls behavior under High Speed Train (HST) loading. First, the state of the art in reinforced earth as well as in railway dynamics modeling is analyzed. Then we present results coming from the testing of a one-scale reinforced embankment submitted to harmonic loading. They indicate that tensile forces in reinforcements, stresses and displacements depend on loading frequency which is related to train speed. One proposes a 3D Finite Element Model (FEM) in order to numerically reproduce this experimentation. The numerical results fit reasonably well with the experimental ones, highlighting the great importance of the choice of the constitutive law for the soil, reinforcement and facing. The same model is used to locally investigate the soil/reinforcement interface behaviour during a harmonic loading in steady-state. The confining pressure presents significant variations along the reinforcement strip during the dynamic loading while tensile forces are less affected by the load. Nevertheless, the global interface stability remains acceptable compared to a static load. A second numerical model is proposed, which represents a bigger embankment. The multiphase model is used to represent the reinforced soil and moving coordinates are used to take into account the moving train. Theoretical developments of this model and its implementation into CESAR-LCPC FEM code are detailed. The results indicate that the train speed does not play a big role in the overall response of the structure, in the case of a stiff reinforcement comparable to the experimental one. If the embankment is weaker, the HST speed may be close to shear waves speed within the soil, which has significant consequences into the structure, particularly on the stability of the soil/reinforcement interface. Globally the experimental results and those coming from both numerical models present the same trends: the dynamic effect coming from the train passing leads to the in-crease of displacements and confining pressure close to the highest strips, while tensile forces are less affected by the load. This leads us to the conclusion that the train speed does not have a significant effect on the stability of MSE walls, at least for embankments having similar parameters than the experimental one. However these results strongly depend on the embankment geometry, the way to model the train and the parameters and constitutive laws chosen for the soil, the soil/reinforcement interface and the facing

Full textSince 1980s, capitalism is marked by the expansion of liberalism. At the same time, the competitions between the States and the multinationals produce new protectionism in certain industrial sectors. The aim of this thesis is to analyze this contradictory character by studying the interaction around the construction of the high-speed rail in France and South Korea and around the contract of Korean high-speed train. In the national field, the railway sector constituted a monopolistic market. But the liberal reforms of this public sector produce disengagement of the State and the operators of railways who were under the supervision of the public authority must seek a new strategy for their management. By the analysis of the decision-making processes for the high-speed rail, we will show the national interaction in the railway sector. The international market of the high-speed train is oligopolistic. It is dominated by a small number of the multinational corporations armed with the great financial and technological capacities. By analyzing the games around Korean high-speed train contract, we try to show the alliances and the competitions between the various public and private actors in an international field and the new international trade standard

Full textThe predictive control technique has gotten, on the last years, greater number of adepts in reason of the easiness of adjustment of its parameters, of the exceeding of its concepts for multi-input/multi-output (MIMO) systems, of nonlinear models of processes could be linearised around a operating point, so can clearly be used in the controller, and mainly, as being the only methodology that can take into consideration, during the project of the controller, the limitations of the control signals and output of the process. The time varying weighting generalized predictive control (TGPC), studied in this work, is one more an alternative to the several existing predictive controls, characterizing itself as an modification of the generalized predictive control (GPC), where it is used a reference model, calculated in accordance with parameters of project previously established by the designer, and the application of a new function criterion, that when minimized offers the best parameters to the controller. It is used technique of the genetic algorithms to minimize of the function criterion proposed and searches to demonstrate the robustness of the TGPC through the application of performance, stability and robustness criterions. To compare achieves results of the TGPC controller, the GCP and proportional, integral and derivative (PID) controllers are used, where whole the techniques applied to stable, unstable and of non-minimum phase plants. The simulated examples become fulfilled with the use of MATLAB tool. It is verified that, the alterations implemented in TGPC, allow the evidence of the efficiency of this algorithm

Full textThe industrial context of the thesis is to understand and model the thermal solicitation of TGV brake discs in order to determine the disc surface damage. For the four types of commercial pad used, the damage results firstly in a fast appearance of a cracking network on the surface and, secondly, in a development of macroscopic cracks, depending on the pad type. The study proceeds in three stages: i) determining the thermal loadings of the disc, according to the characteristics of the pad used; ii) calculating the stress fields and deformation during brakings; iii) analyzing their criticality regarding to the risks of cracking network and cracking. For that, a new campaign on a full scale test bench was carried out with a detailed attention to the thermal measurements. For numerical modelling, 2D and 3D models of the disc are used to simulate hot bands or macroscopic hot spots. Thermomechanical loading is analyzed for the various pad types; disc loadings are either based on simplified thermal fields, or issued from thermographic films resulting from the tests. Lastly, a model of the complete brake is used to determine the influence of parameters of the pads on the localization of the heat flux and the distribution of contact pressure. Parametric studies are then undertaken to release the influence of the physical and mechanical parameters of the pads, and to propose, in a predictive step, ways of improvement in the design of new pads less prejudicial regarding to the risks of cracking

Full textMass Transit has to meet specifications of increasing difficulty which put in the forefront areas which were before considered as secondary. In particular, passenger’s acoustic comfort has become a major criterion, reflecting the requirements for quality transportation. The present work has its origin in this specific context and more especially in the intention of FAIVELEY TRANSPORT, a Railway equipment supplier, to improve the acoustic behaviour of its products. The aim of this study is the comprehension of the physical phenomena of the noise transmission through the doors of the transport vehicles, from outside to inside. The Railway access doors are the main application of this work. The considered frequency range is low frequencies below 500 Hz. The final objective is to notably reduce the transmitted noise in order to improve the passengers acoustic comfort inside the transport vehicles. To do this, we developed a model based on an analytical integra-modal approach, associated with a Rayleigh-Ritz approximation. The original aspect of this work is to develop a model of a vibrating structure which take into account its multilayered and heterogeneous aspects and its complex boundary and interface conditions (linear and punctual elastic stiffness). This model is the basis of a specifie software for preliminary design studies (VANTAIL) which is able to indicate, with a parametric study, the contribution of each different part of the doors to the global vibroacoustic behaviour. An experimental study on an industrial structure (the access door of the double deck French high speed train) permits us to validate the developed software to define its limits and to validate the proposed vibroacoustic treatments

Full textOur research has led us to propose a design approach which favors product usage by simulating user activities of these products. This approach was applied to a project for designing future driving cabs of high-speed trains. The first step of this approach was for the project group to define the future work of high-speed train drivers. Based on this definition, we developed the pre-concepts for control devices in the form of models and then we evaluated the resulting activity around their use. After this, we carried out partial simulations of user activities with drivers on test benches in order to evaluate the pre-concepts being developed. This step led us to a global concept concerning future driving cab devices. We then devised a research and design simulator for carrying out our experiments. We were able to optimize our global system and evaluate the choices of the project group. A final validation of the devices will soon be carried out on a prototype high-speed train. Activity simulation can provide a real design contribution if it is integrated from the beginning into the design process of complex systems involving humans. It can highlight usability starting with the first phases of the project and can therefore provide real aid in managing a project by encouraging participation from project groups as well as innovation

Full textThe railway station is a hinge between the techniques related to transport and the places it serves. Today, it benefits from its image to mark new symbols in the city while ensuring the quality and originality of its spaces to adapt to changing lifestyles, temporalities and urban mobility. European cities are again perceived from their train station. Given their size and spatial organization, as well as the complexity of the relationships they establish with the surrounding neighborhoods, today's European railway stations are to be considered as places with high experimental potential which reflect the time technical advances and their translation into spaces of quality. This study is centered around the question of "Europe of high speed" and innovative and interesting examples of new buildings that symbolize it. lt aims to understand the most innovative programs in terms of interaction between technique, image and use. What are the lessons of their history and how are the stations integrated in their urban contexts ? And also what architectural techniques and programs couId be most suitable for the next evolution of transport for countries that have not yet invested in rail networks ?

Full textAbstract: The French high-speed rail (HSR) system has contributed to spatial and territorial restructuring. The expansion of the network accompanied the development of new stations. The territorial integration of these stations has been extensively researched, except in the Île-de-France region, at the core of the rail network. Focusing on the case of Marne-la-Vallée Chessy station, this thesis analyses the territorialisation of the Île-de-France HSR stations (located on the outskirts of Paris) in view of the evolution of the TGV model: the development of a TGV offer bypassing the centre of Paris (TGV intersecteur) in the 1980s and more recently of new low-cost HSR services (Ouigo). This study articulates three approaches to understand the territorial integration of this station: an analysis of stakeholders in the field of transport and urban development; the study of the relational capacity of the station and its traffic; and the analysis of users’ practices (tourist mobility). This work sheds new light on the way regional development projects consider, or fail to consider, on HSR. This research documents how the relationship with the Parisian centrality has been a lever in the management of the HSR Interconnexion project and its three interlocking objects: line (network-support), service model (network-service) and station (node-place). Contrasting with the national and interregional logics which have gradually come to dominate the reading of the project, we identify a twofold relationship to the Parisian centrality on a sub-regional scale and uncover complex spatial restructuring issues. The development of the Ouigo offer has contributed to an evolution of the role of Marne-la-Vallée Chessy as a gateway to the city, with a complexification of territorial dynamics of which the station is the interface. The evolutions related to Ouigo are not limited to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy, and the thesis provides insights on the new functional distribution between Paris inner-city stations and Île-de-France HSR stations. It also provides an initial analysis of the changes in the offer of TGV services bypassing Paris, and of the organisation of the TGV offer in France, following the start of Ouigo services
