Abstract:
Steganography, or communication through covert channels, is desirable when the mere existence of an encrypted message might cause suspicion or provide useful information to eavesdroppers. Text is effective for steganography due to its ubiquity; however, text communication channels do not necessarily provide sufficient redundancy for covert communication. In this paper, the authors propose a novel steganographic embedding scheme for Thai plain text documents that exploits redundancies in the way particular vowel, diacritical, and tonal symbols are composed in TIS-620, the standard Thai character set. This paper provides a Thai text stegosystem following a provably secure construction that guarantees covertness, privacy, and integrity of the hiddentext message under meaningful attacks against computational adversaries. In an experimental evaluation, the authors find that the message embedding scheme allows 203 bytes of embedded hiddentext message per 100KB of covertext on average, and that the document modifications are not readily noticed by observers. The stegosystem is thus a practical and effective secure system for covert communication over Thai plain text channels.

Abstract:
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to provide evidence that the quality of earnings of family run firms is superior to that of the other firms and that firms run by founding family members exhibit this trait even more prominently. Using insights from the fundamental accounting valuation model, this study also hypothesizes that financial markets place a higher weightage on earnings than book value for founding family-run firms in Thailand as these firms report a more reliable earnings number.Design/methodology/approachThis is an empirical archival research.FindingsThe authors report evidence that financial markets place a higher weightage on earnings than book value for founding family-run firms. The evidence is consistent with the insight that current earnings of the founding family-run firms offer more information about future earnings and cash flow compared to book value than those for family (FAM) and non-family (NonCS) firms. The authors also provide evidence that earnings persistence and the accrual quality of the founding family firms are higher compared to the other firms. This evidence is contrary to the notion that family firms have more opaque disclosures, lower earnings quality and higher implied cost of equity capital.Research limitations/implicationsThe authors find support for the alignment hypothesis of the long-term family ownership of Thai firms. The authors consider these evidences consistent with the shareholder interest alignment hypothesis of the controlling shareholders as opposed to the entrenchment hypothesis.Practical implicationsThe study implies that earnings of the Thai firms run by founding family members are more reliable and can be relied on more for firm valuation. Additionally, the authors also offer a different methodology by appealing to the valuation properties of the reported accounting numbers besides looking at the quality of accruals and earnings persistence tests offered in the existing literature.Social implicationsThe society is better off if there are more opportunities to invest in Thai firms run by founding family members. The finding of the quality difference in governance by firms with founding family members is new. Therefore, the study points to the need of finer partition of the family firms while looking at their corporate governance practices. The fact that the FF firms offer a higher quality of earnings implies that they are less engaged in opportunistic manipulation of earnings and cash flow and, thus, are self-motivated to protect the longer term interest of the firms.Originality/valueThis if the first time the accounting fundamental valuation theory has been used to provide evidence of higher earnings quality.

Abstract:
This paper reports on the progress of Thai National Corpus development. The TNC is designed as a general corpus of standard Thai. Only written texts are collected in the first phase. It aims to include at least eighty million words. Various text types produced by various authors are included in the TNC so that it would closely represent written language in general. Texts are word segmented and tagged following the Text Encoding Initiative (TEl) guidelines on text encoding. The TNC was designed as a resource for general applications, such as lexicography, language teaching, and linguistic research. In addition, the TNC is designed to be comparable to the British National Corpus so that a comparative study between the two languages is also possible.

Abstract:
English writing produced by Thai EFL authors inevitably contains errors of various types. Errors can lead to not only wrong interpretations but also unfavorable criticism. This study is an endeavor to examine errors of English writing made by Thai EFL authors on the Tourism Authority of Thailand Website and to suggest revisions to each error found. To do this, the information on tourist destinations in five provinces in the lower north of Thailand, namely, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Phetchabun, Uttaradit, and Tak, was collected. The gathered data consisted of 230 pieces of the information which contained 2,559 sentences. The data were analyzed by applying the framework of Dulay, Burt, & Krashen’s surface structure taxonomy (1982). The results revealed that almost half of all the considered sentences (44.78%) contained errors. Based on the framework, errors of omission were found to be the most frequent, followed by those of misformation, addition, and misordering, respectively. Interestingly, the results also showed that the mechanical errors, not in the list of the framework, occurred with the highest frequency. Based upon research findings, online English writing made by Thai EFL authors need more proofreading, especially on the types of errors committed at the highest frequency according to or beyond the framework. However, in focusing on high frequency errors, it is to be noted that miscellaneous occurred the least yet should not be ignored in the correcting process.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper uses the relational capabilities perspective to provide new insights into the mediating role of relational capabilities and their performance implications. Specially, this paper aims to explain how characteristics of a partnership influence relational capabilities that in turn enhance firm performance. Design/methodology/approach Using data from an original survey of 156 partnership projects between buyers and suppliers in the Thai manufacturing sector, the authors use a structural model to test their hypotheses. Findings The empirical analysis shows that the impact of relational and economic attributes of a partnership on firm performance is mediated by knowledge sharing routines and complementary capability. However, the impact varies between operational and strategic performance, as relational capabilities are strongly associated with operational performance but only indirectly associated with strategic performance. Practical implications The need to coordinate and mobilize complementary resources not only increases the interdependence between buyers and suppliers but also contributes to firm performance. Specifically, operations can be enhanced by knowledge sharing routines and complementary capability. At a strategic level, operational effectiveness enables firms to benefit from inter-organizational relationships. Originality/value The authors contribute to industrial marketing knowledge by shedding light on mediation of relational capabilities between inter-organizational attributes and firm performance. The findings demonstrate the value of the relationship between a firm’s supply chain and its relational capabilities which in turn drive project performance.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate consumer preferences towards innovative rice products, and cross-cultural determinants of customers’ perceived value and loyalty. Design/methodology/approach A self-administered survey was designed to obtain participants’ perceptions about Thai rice, and preferences towards innovative Thai rice products. A total of 937 surveys were distributed and 908 valid surveys were returned, yielding a 96.7 per cent overall response rate. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to assure the reliability and validity of the measures used in the survey instrument. Structural equation modelling was employed to assess the five hypothesised relationships between the four elements of the marketing mix, customer perceived value, and post-purchase behaviour, and to compare the path coefficients across the two cultural groups. Findings The findings reported herein show that eastern and western customers’ perceptions of marketing mix variables positively impact their perceptions of value, in turn, enhancing their loyalty to Thai rice. A successful marketing strategy should meet changing customer needs through adopting new products, services and unique marketing mix bundles. Such strategies should be tailored to the differing needs across cultures, and can address issues arising from changing competitive and environmental landscapes. Research limitations/implications The first limitation concerns the scope of the study. Specifically, the authors only conducted surveys during a two-month time period in 2018; the sampling sites were limited to several shopping malls in Bangkok; and the authors surveyed a high proportion of young, single, educated participants. The second limitation pertains to the selection and adaptation of constructs and their observed variables (such as the 4P indicators). Most of the observed variables were selected based on a literature review and the opinions of the scholars who participated in this study. Practical implications These results should be beneficial to members of the international rice industry, Thai rice exporters, the Thai government and to academics. Long-term success will be supported by focused attention on target segments and launch of innovative rice products that match differing preferences across nationalities. Originality/value Understanding consumers’ perspectives and preferences are critical to appropriate positioning and marketing of value-added Thai rice products. This study represents one of the first attempts to integrate marketing mix decisions, customers’ perceived value and loyalty within a Thai rice purchase behaviour context across eastern and western customers.

Abstract:
The present study looked closely at the niche establishments in the introduction sections of English research articles written by Thai authors and published in local Thai journals and compared them to those found in introduction sections written by non-Thai authors published in international and high indexed journals. Each of the two corpora contains forty introductory sections. The analysis was based on the frameworks of Swales (2004) and Lim (2012). It was found that the use of niche establishments in the international corpus was higher than that in the Thai corpus. In the Thai corpus, “Stressing insufficient research” was the highest strategy, but “Revealing methodological limitations” was completely absent. It is expected that the results will provide practical guidance for novice writers to write their research introduction sections with informative and convincing niche establishments and, to some extent, the results should also benefit English writing classes, especially in Thailand.

Abstract:
Thai rejuvenating remedies are mixed herbal formulas promoting longevity. Due to the complexity, the biological activities of these remedies are minimal. Therefore, in this study, the authors evaluated the anti-pigmentation effect at the molecular level of the selected Thai rejuvenating remedy to fulfill the knowledge gap. First, the authors found that the selected remedy showed promising activity against the tyrosinase enzyme with an IC50 value of 9.41 µg/mL. In the comparison, kojic acid (positive control) exhibited an IC50 value of 3.92 µg/mL against the same enzyme. Later, the authors identified glabridin as a bioactive molecule against tyrosinase with an IC50 value of 0.08 µg/mL. However, ethyl p-methoxycinnamate was the most abundant metabolite found in the remedy. The authors also found that the selected remedy and glabridin reduced the melanin content in the cell-based assay (B16F1) but not in the zebrafish larvae experiment. Finally, the authors conducted a computational investigation through molecular docking proposing a theoretical molecular interplay between glabridin, ethyl p-methoxycinnamate, and target proteins (tyrosinase and melanocortin-1 receptor, MC1R). Hence, in this study, the authors reported the molecular anti-pigmentation mechanism of the selected Thai rejuvenating remedy for the first time by combining the results from in silico, in vitro, and in vivo experiments.

Abstract:
The paper aims to investigate how Bangkok is represented in contemporary Thai literature, including those works by such authors of renown as Chamlong Fangcholachit, Prabda Yoon, and Paritas Hutangkul. Through the perspectives of these contemporary authors, Bangkok has been used as a poignant setting to showcase the problems and conditions of urbanism in Thailand. The paper aims to focus on three main issues of representation, which are not completely separated but closely intertwined: (1) Bangkok as a hub of globalization, where cultural forces, especially those from the West, clash with local knowledge and wisdom; (2) Bangkok as a major tourist destination, where the tourist’s imagination of Bangkok and Thailand as an exotic place jars with the realities they actually face upon their arrival; and (3) Bangkok as a city of capitalism and consumerism, where urban people define themselves through their conspicuous consumption. Contemporary Thai literature, especially those works in the last two decades, make manifest the complexity of these three issues as well as how these issues affect urban dwellers in their everyday life.

Full text
Abstract:
This study identified the types of sexist language that appear in ESL textbooks by Thai authors. The study analyzed the ESL textbooks by Thai authors sold at the Chulalongkorn University bookstore during spring 2007. It was a qualitative case analysis of fifteen ESL textbooks covering the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of ESL instruction. The study used feminist criticism to discover what gender roles are sanctioned as appropriate in ESL textbooks by Thai authors and if the language used supports or challenges patriarchy. The results of this study show that sexist language is present in the textbooks and that the textbooks contain content that promotes sexist assumptions concerning gender roles. As a whole, the language and examples used in ESL textbooks by Thai authors support patriarchy.

Abstract:
Background: Have you ever wondered what top athletes occupy themselves with after their career? Most scientists agree that it is important to take advantage of the qualities and traits that elite athletes received through sport. Therefore, are athletes able to use and exploit their sports background in business? Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate which traits former elite athletes consider important in an effective business leader. Furthermore, the purpose is to examine the traits that former elite athletes feel that they have developed during their sporting careers, which they now have the use of in their leading position in the business world. Question: What is, according to former elite athletes, essential for an effective leader in business? What traits have these former elite athletes, in their view, developed during their active career? Methodology: The study uses a qualitative method which is based on six semi-structured interviews with former Olympians. All interviews were conducted by phone or videoconference call. Conclusion: The authors answer the questions and try to clearify the respondents’ interpretations of the key traits of effective leaders. The authors believe that it is also possible to identify some traits that the respondents brought from the sport and that they now use in their civilian career. Finally, suggestions for further research

Young, Katie Elizabeth. "More than "Wisteria and Sunshine": The Garden as a Space of Female Introspection and Identity in Elizabeth von Arnim's The Enchanted April and Vera." BYU ScholarsArchive, 2011. https://scholarsarchive.byu.edu/etd/3033.

Full text
Abstract:
Recent scholarly interest in Elizabeth von Arnim has related Elizabeth and Her German Garden and The Solitary Summer to the New Woman and Female Aesthete movements, concluding that von Arnim does not align herself with any movement per se. Rather, in these early works, Elizabeth advocates and adamantly defends her right to time in her garden, which becomes her sanctuary for reading and thinking. Little critical attention has been paid to von Arnim's later works; however, many of the themes established in von Arnim's early works can be traced through her later novels. In The Enchanted April Lady Caroline retreats to the garden at San Salvatore in order to escape the attention of others and discover who she really is and what she wants out of life. Because she follows the early von Arnim model by defending her garden sanctuary, she is able to find the strength to insist on being treated as a person rather than a beautiful object. Additionally, Lucy Enstwhistle's interrupted time in the garden in Vera demonstrates the importance of the role of von Arnim's garden in forming an identity and developing the ability to make decisions for oneself. Because Lucy allows Everard Wemyss to rob her of these opportunities, she loses the opportunity to create her identity. She soon becomes the second Mrs. Wemyss, realizes that she is abject, and begins taking on first wife Vera's attributes and passions to cope with Everard's constant demands. Because Lucy has forfeited the formative experiences the garden space can provide, Lucy is left to take up Vera's identity and tragic fate.

Abstract:
The style of the Swedish writer Harry Martinson is characterised by a large number of conspicuous and creative word-formation units, which have a special function in his writing. One single word might summarise and denominate an experiance or a complex emotion, sometimes using an exact description, sometimes using a metaphor. The content and the novelty of such nonce forms catch the reader´s or listener´s attention, achieving the intended effect: to make the reader understand what Martinson wants to convey. The present study is an analysis of the neologisms used in two of Martinson´s semiautobiographical novels and their German translations. The object of the study is twofold: firstly to show that the great variety of nonce words-formations as well as their semantics provide the special stylistic markers of the texts, and secondly to draw more general conclusions about the effect of target languages regarding the form, content and function of the units in the texts, as well as their effect on the reader, the concept of equivalence is central. Correspondences and deviations are analysed applying a model specifically designed for the purpose and based in relevant theories. The results illustrate both the various problems a translator must seek to solve and the consequences that simplifications, omissions, and paraphrases might have on the meaning and effect of the text.

Abstract This chapter analyses policies and stakeholders' engagement in the planning and management of festivals and cultural events. The authors, Dang et al., utilize a case-study approach with four vignettes: (i)Giong Festival (Ha Noi city); (ii)Thanh Tuyen Festival (Tuyen Quang province); (iii)Tich Dien Festival (Ha Nam province); and (iv)the Tea Festival (Thai Nguyen province). Findings from semi-structured interviews with different stakeholders reveal a range of endogenous and exogenous drivers presented on vertical axes for stakeholder engagement. Important findings from this study relate to the process of changing roles of the local community, local authorities and the central state as the events evolve over time.

Abstract:
Abstract This chapter details the development of elephant tourism in Thailand. Following a logging ban enacted by the government in 1989, in response to devastating floods and loss of life brought about by unsustainable logging practices, elephants used in logging and their mahouts suddenly found themselves unemployed. From positions of high esteem, some 2000 elephants and their mahouts were forced to resort to begging on the streets of Thailand, in order to survive. Seeing this as an opportunity, Thai entrepreneurs began to offer visits to old logging camps that had been turned into attractions for tourists, beginning the involvement of elephants in the tourism sector. The welfare of the elephants at this stage was at best a secondary concern for many of the camp owners and operators. The authors note however that this is now changing. Interestingly, for the elephants in Thailand, the improvements in their welfare resulted from the actions of travel trade associations such as ABTA (the Association of British Travel Agents), travel trade channel members, and specialist animal welfare and ethnic community NGOs.

Abstract:
This article uses data collected for a study undertaken in the mid-2000s using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to investigate knowledge conversion processes in a Thai Government Ministry. The authors re-analyse this study making use of the power of actor-network theory. The original TAM study, based on technological innovation, investigated the relationship between technology support and management of the knowledge conversion process in a government ministry in Thailand to increase knowledge sharing. The original study found that a number of external variables impacted on the knowledge conversion process, including personal details, training, tools of persuasion, national background and culture, management and policies, employee behaviour, management, and policies and computing support. This paper briefly outlines the findings of the original study and discusses how an ANT study would have approached this material. An analysis is then made of how an Innovation Translation approach differs fundamentally from one using the Technology Acceptance Model.

Abstract:
The Tay people are an ethnic minority of Vietnam. Tay literature has many unique facets with relevance to cultural identity. It plays an important part in the diversity and richness of Vietnamese literature. In this study, Tay literature in Vietnam is analyzed through a cultural perspective, by placing Tay literature in its development from its birth to the present, together with the formation of the ethnic group, and historical and cultural conditions, focusing on the typical customs of the Tay people in Vietnam. The researcher examines Tay literature through poems of Nôm Tày, through the works of some prominent authors, such as Vi Hong, Cao Duy Son, in the Cao Bang province of Vietnam. Cao Bang is home to many Tay ethnic people and many typical Tay authors. The research also locates individual contributions of those authors and their works in terms of artistic language use and cultural symbolic features of the Tay people. In terms of art language, the article isolates the unique use of Nôm Tay characters to compose stories which affect the traditional Tay luon, sli, and so forth, and hence the use of language that influences poetry and proverbs of Tay people in the story of Vi Hong, Cao Duy Son. Assuming a symbolic framework, the article examines the symbols of birds and flowers in Nôm Tay poetry and the composition of Vi Hong, Cao Duy Son, so to point out the uniqueness of the Tay identity. The above research issue is necessary to help us better appreciate the cultural values preserved in Tay literature, thereby, affirming the unique cultural identity of the Tay people and planning to preserve and develop these unique cultural features from which emerges the risk of falling into oblivion in modern social life in Vietnam. In addition, this is also a research direction that can be extended to Thai, Mong, Dao, etc, ethnic minorities in Vietnam.

Abstract:
In this study we aimed to determine and compare some characteristics of the cinematic direct punch jab and cross applied in semi-contact system. Kinematic data acquisition was performed using inertial navigation technology embedded in the MOVEN equipment from Xsens, Netherlands. The equipment was mounted on a topic of world, national and international champion of kick boxing and Thai boxing heavyweight senior.Series of shots were recorded using the MVN equipment and dedicated software and a video camera (120 f /s). Data collected using MOVEN system were converted and processed, yielding information about the velocity and acceleration of body segments (this information is presented for fist, elbow, shoulder and right hip in executions with right arm). Were obtained fist velocity between 6.17 and 7.29 m /s for jab applied in semi-contact style and fist velocity in the range from 6.95 to 7.93 m /s semi-contact cross. Velocity variation in time curves presents two main peacks whose height and scale depend on the application coup - semi-contact, full contact and striking variant (cross, jab). These peacks reffer to race of the fistto the target and return. The path to the target is much faster than to recovery in the original position.Compared with the values obtained for the same techniques, performed by the same athlete in non-contact system, without completion, without reaching any material target (maximum of 6.75 m /s for jab and 7.59 m /s for cross) semi-contact applied punches speeds had higher peak values, demonstrating that the effect of target (highlighted by another authors) exists and must be used in specific speed training.

Abstract:
The essay in question brings images that were created during the development process of this author's thesis, made to compose the electronic game from the doctoral/PhD research in Arts. It is the result of readings and exercises on Aby Warburg's reflections on the survival of images through their anachrony and their intuitive interrelationships (pathosformeln), strongly influenced by his Atlas Mnemosine project, where he collects several and different images of various eras and organizes them on Boards, in them Warburg assumes them as elements that talk about some themes (in this case, his Boards spoke of the Renaissance, a constant theme in his research), this "talking about" capability is considered by the historian/theorist similar to a text, rather than words, images, Instead of grammar, aesthetics, the requirements for interpreting the Boards should be another, deeper, it demands more boldness and context. So, understanding Warburg's reflections as a method of reading and interpreting images in their contexts, I started to organize images that I photograph from my daily life, or that I encounter with different media, and which, intuitively, I realized have a common essence: my (Amazonian) region, I started to redraw them using an hatch technique, sometimes putting them on maps or reinforcing some feature that could refer to old cartographic drawings with the intention of, as a kind of cartographer of a contemporary Amazon, reframing stereotypes, paying attention to the local-global relations to which the region ends up being subjected by its inhabitants and other individuals around the world. Those drawings are build in a aesthetic-intuitive interrelationship with each other, based on the Amazon region in a collection of improbable images in the face of the forest-and-river stereotype, without ignoring such, being just a starting point for reflection on a proposed conversation by the images. Can an urban image be related to the Forest? Was it a good or bad relationship? Whatever is the relationship, would it be good or bad for whom? What do we have from the forest in the urban and vice versa? Where is the conflict and where is the symbiosis? Images, unlike texts, are better at instigating questions; where some may see confusion before the "freedom of interpretation" which the images propose to us, others, better equipped (or simply audacious), see in this freedom the opportunity for construction of deep knowledge, more linked to feeling (pathos) it’s not just “read” something from the image, but “feel it” instead. The process of capturing, curating, drawing and presenting the images carries a large number of reflections for the author of this work and hopes that other reflections may emerge from those who face such images, allowing not only the free interpretation of the individual works, but also the order in which they present themselves, thus exploring a greater potential of questions, feelings and interpretations. Thus, the author hopes that this experiment will be an exercise in interpretation similar to what he expects to see in the game he develops in his research.

Abstract:
Purpose – The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus left a significant negative mark on the world economy, and tourism industry. It has also significantly affected the perception and behavior of tourists when it comes to the safety of a tourist destination. To continue to record a positive recovery trend, destinations must undertake scientific and professional research, and based on the results consider and develop new development strategies for the development of tourism in the post-pandemic period. The perception of risk in tourists is changing, which ultimately has an impact on their future behavior when choosing a holiday destination. Opatija Riviera is a destination with a rich and long tourist tradition, which until before the pandemic was perceived as safe, as evidenced by the continuous growth of tourist turnover. The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the importance of monitoring whether and to what extent tourists perceive Opatija Riviera as a safe tourist destination and based on the findings to offer developmental guidelines for the post-pandemic period. Methodology – Data collection was conducted during June and July 2022, using an online survey questionnaire. 152 respondents agreed to participate in research. The basic measurement instrument was based on the Tourists’ Perceived Safety at Destinations (TPSD) scale developed by Xie et al. (2020b), i.e. initial items (25) proposed by these authors. To extract the dimensions of perceived tourist safety, the authors primarily used exploratory factor analysis. Findings – by using the exploratory factor analysis the following factors were identified: perception of safety of human elements (PSH), safety of facilities and equipment (PSFE), safety of natural environments (PSNE), perceived safety of social environments (PSSE) and safety of management elements (PSM). The results for PSH, PSFE, PSNE and PSSE have proven to be satisfactory in terms of how tourists perceive them as safe and reliable, which is not the case with the PSM. The f indings for PSM indicate the need for additional investments aimed towards improvement of protection of tourist´s safety (safety of the construction, safety of information and visibility of warning sign about security in Opatija Riviera). Originality of the research – this research contributes to the theory by presenting relevant literature content in safety perception in tourism. The empirical contribution derives from the fact that no similar research was conducted on Opatija Riviera until now. Its findings set the basis for future empirical research that will be conducted in the post-COVID period in Opatija Riviera, based on which it will be possible to plan further developmental activities aimed towards improving tourist´s safety during their stay.

Abstract:
Forensic author profiling plays an important role in indicating possible profiles for suspects. Among the many automated solutions recently proposed for author profiling, transfer learning outperforms many other state-of-the-art techniques in natural language processing. Nevertheless, the sophisticated technique has yet to be fully exploited for author profiling. At the same time, whereas current methods of author profiling, all largely based on features engineering, have spawned significant variation in each model used, transfer learning usually requires a preprocessed text to be fed into the model. We reviewed multiple references in the literature and determined the most common preprocessing techniques associated with authors' genders profiling. Considering the variations in potential preprocessing techniques, we conducted an experimental study that involved applying five such techniques to measure each technique’s effect while using the BERT model, chosen for being one of the most-used stock pretrained models. We used the Hugging face transformer library to implement the code for each preprocessing case. In our five experiments, we found that BERT achieves the best accuracy in predicting the gender of the author when no preprocessing technique is applied. Our best case achieved 86.67% accuracy in predicting the gender of authors.

Abstract:
The review is about textbook on television and radio communication for students, teachers of faculties and departments of journalism, as well as journalists-practitioners, prepared by the author’s team edited by Vasyl Lyzanchuk. Textbok absorbed some considerations and conclusions from previous theoretical developments, which found a new meaning here, deeper argumentation, supplemented by many interesting observations that correspond to the spirit of the time, the innovations that have appeared in recent years in the media space of Ukraine. The textbook has ten sections, each of which is designed to enrich the student with knowledge of television and radio communications, teach him or her all that a media professional should know and be able to apply it in practice. The titles of the sections indicate their practical orientation: «Basic methodical measures of functioning of information radio and television genres», «How we analyze, interpret, explain facts, events, phenomena», «Features of the creation of artistic programs on radio and television» and others. All sections of the textbook are meaningfully connected and constructed in such a way as to provide students with the opportunity to gradually, step by step to deepen their theoretical and practical knowledge of television and radio communications. This is undoubtedly the merit of the authors of the edition. The student will benefit from the numerous examples of television and radio materials prepared by the students themselves. Their creative work should convince that this work can serve as a stimulus for creative work for future journalists during their years of study. In addition to professional competence, as rightly emphasized in the textbook by Professor Vasyl Lyzanchuk, “It is very important to form in students, future journalists, socio-national competence, deep understanding of the essence of freedom of speech and responsibility for the content of the spoken word and image, to develop the belief that they are active participants in the Ukrainian state-building processes, and not intermediaries or repeaters of information”. It should be noted that the educational element is present throughout the textbook starting with the first chapter, historical (author Professor Ivan Krupskyi). While studying this textbook, students should realize that from the honor of journalists, their dignity, patriotism depends on the honor, authority, bright name of Ukraine, its future; that their assertion of Ukrainian national identity is the key to further prosperity of our state.

This policy brief, authored in collaboration with the MITRE Corporation, provides a new perspective on the U.S. Department of Defense’s struggle to recruit and retain artificial intelligence talent. The authors find that the DOD already has a cadre of AI and related experts, but that this talent remains hidden. Better leveraging this talent could go a long way in meeting the DOD’s AI objectives. The authors argue that this can be done through policies that more effectively identify AI talent and assignment opportunities, processes that incentivize experimentation and changes in career paths, and investing in the necessary technological infrastructure.

Abstract:
In the article on the material of the Salzburg weekly «New Days» (1945–1947) various spheres of activity of Peter Volyniak are presented. It is noted that this edition was a business card of the publishing house of the same name and had a history of continuation: in Toronto Petro Volyniak restored the publishing house of the same name and continued the publication in the format of the universal monthly «New Days» (1950–1969). The article also presents periodicals («Latest News», «New Days», «Timpani», «Our Way») and literary, artistic and scientific collection «Steering Wheel», which were published in the Salzburg publishing house of Peter Volyniak «New Days». The purpose of the publication is to trace the path of Petro Volyniak from a writer to a literary critic, journalist and publisher. This trend is reproduced in chronological order. Peter Volyniak as a writer is informed in the article «Literary Evening of P. Volyniak» (author – M. Ch-ka). O. Satsyuk’s literary-critical article is devoted to the coverage of ideological and artistic aspects of Petro Volyniak’s collection «The Earth Calls» (Salzburg, 1947). Petro Volyniak as a literary critic is presented in an article devoted to a collection of literary tales by A. Kolomiyets (Salzburg, 1946), which was published by «New Days». Petro Volyniak as a journalist presents the essay «This is our song…». With the help of content analysis it was observed that the text is divided into two parts: the first contains the author’s reflections on the Ukrainian song, its role in the life of the Ukrainian people; in the second, main, Peter Okopny’s activity abroad is presented. The publisher Petro Volyniak in 1947 in a separate publication of the February issue of the weekly summarizes the third year of activity, providing statistics on the publication of periodicals, books, postcards, calendars, various small format materials. The analyzed material demonstrated the experience of combining creative work and commercial activity.

Abstract:
The article clarifies the features of interactive relationships, which are modeled by the addresser of modern media text for maximum impact on the addressee. The author controls the perception of the text, focusing on linguistic competence and an objective picture of the reader’s world. A pragmatic approach to journalistic text makes it possible to identify explicit and implicit forms of dialogue: modeling feedback and interactive settings that can turn a hypothetical reader into a real one, adapting to the addressee’s language thesaurus. Discursive openness to the exchange of views with the addressee leads to the fact that the entire media text becomes a guarantee of commonality of addresser-addressee interpretations. The difference between the addresser and the addressee is minimized, their connection is strengthened through the combination of linguistic consciousness, which, in turn, forms a special structure and semantics of the journalistic text, in which the emphasis is not on I but on the Other. The addressee in some implicit or explicit form is always in all segments of the media text, and the author establishes a trusting relationship with the reader through the phatic linguistic means that the addressee relates to himself. Approaching the addressee is a sign of modern journalistic texts, which show a tendency to dialogue and democratization of forms of mass communication, and their characteristic feature is the actualization in the center of attention of the addressee, latent (mediated by written text) dialogue with which is modeled as real. The addressee in the process of establishing contact with the author of the media text also becomes the part of broad cognitive space. This opportunity is realized if the journalist has different types of competence – communicative and procedural, that is, is able to compare their own thesaurus, their own knowledge with the thesaurus and the picture of the world of his reader. Modern journalism is characterized by the search for contact with the addressee and new effective models of influence and intimacy of relationships that contribute to the creation of a single cognitive space for both, which, in turn, will allow the recipient to move from knowledge to understanding.

Abstract:
Background: The tens of thousands of academic journal websites that are on the Internet today often do not have a clear organizational structure for their website. If most of them are convenient enough for readers (if the journal is open access), then many have problems informing authors about the conditions, the process of submitting and reviewing the manuscript. The Editorial Offices empirically populate the journal's website with content that can change dramatically (both in terms of website design and content) as the journal develops. Aim of Study: To develop a website model for an academic journal that takes into account the basic requirements for the preparation, publication, and archiving of high quality scientific manuscripts. Material and Methods: The academic journal website model is based on a structural-functional approach. The website content consists of text and integrated applications. This model takes into account the basic requirements for the preparation, publication, and archiving of high-quality open access scientific manuscripts, as well as the indexing of journal articles by leading indexing agencies. Results: The academic journal website model is structured with the following menu and submenu elements: 1. HOME: 1.1. Journal information; 1.2. From the editorial office; 1.3. Databases, Indexing; 2. EDITORIAL BOARD: 2.1. Editorial board; 2.2. Reviewers; 2.3. Editing and reviewing process; 3. EDITORIAL POLICIES: 3.1. Editorial policies; 3.2. Plagiarism policy; 3.3. Open access policy; 3.4. The ethics codex of scientific publications; 3.5. Disclaimer; 3.6. License terms; 3.7. Terms of publications (fee); 4. ARCHIV: 4.1. Previous issues; 4.2. Current issue; 4.3. Articles online first; 5. INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS: 5.1. General recommendations; 5.2. Manuscript templates; 5.3. Supplemental materials; 6. STATISTICS: 6.1. Publications; 6.2. Authors; 6.3. Readers; 7. CONTACTS: 7.1. Contact; 7.2. Subscriptions; 7.3. Search. Conclusions: This academic journal website model was implemented for the International Journal of Science Annals (IJSA). Authors and readers of IJSA noted the advantages of the model proposed by the author, including: a convenient and understandable website interface, the availability of the necessary hyperlinks to the pages of the journal's website and external media (sites of indexed agencies, library archives, etc.), convenient search for information on the website and published in the journal articles (by author, publication, text of the article), availability of integrated applications (online submission of manuscripts, filing appeals against the decision of reviewers and complaints about published articles, viewing the interactive printed version of the journal, etc.), availability of templates (for authors, reviewers), availability of multiple formats for archiving articles (PDF, DOAJ, XML, TXT), the ability to choose the style of citing the article and the website language (English, Ukrainian), etc. Keywords: journal, model, website, academic, indexing

Abstract:
The article analyzes the media discourse around the figure of Oriana Fallachi and her journalistic work during 2017-2020. The actual media image of the figure of Fallachi is highlighted, examples of positive and negative statements are given. It is substantiated why her journalism should be researched in various ways, taking into account other aspects of her work that are not related to Islamophobia. The subject of the study is critical texts in modern foreign media dedicated to the author’s work. The objective of the study is to outline the media discourse around the figure of Oriana Fallaci and her journalism during 2017-2020. The methodology. The following methods have been used in the process of scientific research: historical, comparative, systems analysis, content synthesis, and others. The main results. In total, we have analyzed eight materials in foreign publications, published over the past 3 years, as well as the two most famous biographies of Oriana Fallaci. Some of the most recent reviewed texts have been published in the last few months, reflecting the interest in the author’s journalism, her writing, and reporting. Therefore, we see the need for further tracking and analysis of this body of texts. Conclusions. Critics of Fallaci express polar views that are not all negative. Authors recommend quite cautiously her texts for reading, emphasizing their positive aspects. Both Fallaci’s biographies are also not entirely complementary: some aspects of her work are glorified, others are condemned. We managed to find general tendencies in the criticism of Oriana Fallaci’s journalism. These include accusations of xenophobia and Islamophobia, uncompromisingness, lack of political correctness, and moral value. The authors emphasize, at the same time, the openness and directness that bribe the reader, patriotism and honesty, strength of spirit and firmness of position. Significance of the research. The analysis of the latest criticism reveals what kind of media image Fallachi’s figure has today, and gives the possibility to research it for demonization and one-sided coverage. This is important not only for thorough research of the author’s work but also for understanding how the modern world perceives journalism, which is contrary to the generally accepted principles of political correctness, journalistic ethics, and humanity.

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: This methodological review aims to find out how often strategies for handling overlapping data from primary studies are used across the systematic reviews considered by overviews authors focused on exercise-related interventions in different health conditions. Secondarily, we aim to describe the overlap strategies used, the authors' acknowledgment of not using any management strategy as a methodological weakness, and the congruence between the protocol and the final published overview in terms of overlap management. Study designs to be included: We will include overviews that consider SRs with or without meta-analysis (MA), without distinction of the methodological design of the primary studies included. The definition of SR adopted by the authors of the overviews will not be considered as an eligibility criterion. Overviews that also include primary studies not considered in the selected SRs will not be excluded. An overview is defined as any study: 1) aimed at synthesising general information, methods, and outcome data from SRs, 2) that makes explicit the inclusion and exclusion criteria for SRs, 3) that includes an explicit sear.
