Abstract:
To reconstruct the climatic fluctuations that occurred in the middle latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere in the Atlantic Ocean in the Campanian Age, the systematic composition of the shells of planktonic foraminifera was studied from core samples from seven deep-water drilling holes. The identified foraminiferal assemblages are assigned to two types (boreal and intermediate) and one subtype (warm boreal) thanatocenosis. On the basis of their spatial distribution, the position of climatic zones for sections of the early, middle, beginning and end of the late Campanian was determined. Different

At the final stage of the taphonomic cycle, after the deposit has gone to the surface in a result of different processes, the alteration of the deposit in the zone of surface weathering occurs, due to the mechanic destruction as well as the processes of soiution and replacement. A phenomenon of the deposition in thanatocenosis the reburied fossils - redeposition - has a widespread occurrence in this time. On the basis of the unique finding of the cervical vertebra of the Upper Pleistocene European roe deer in the modern freshwater catfish (Silurus glanis Linnaeus) a new type of the fossils red

Marine mollusks from Baix Camp (Tarragona, NE Iberian Peninsula). In this paper, species from beach thanatocenoses of Baix Camp area (localities of Montroig, L’Hospitalet de l’Infant and Vandellòs) in the province of Tarragona are reported, with a total of 477 collected species. This is an area of high malacological diversity; it is noteworthy the presence of at least three species never described before for the Catalan and/or Iberian malacofauna: Monoptygma modesta, Cerithium cf. protractum and Cerithium cf. haustellum.

Erosional and depositional processes shaped the coastal strips, while inland areas were affected by aeolian and fluvial processes. Abstract:
Lake Tanganyika is a complex, tropical ecosystem in East Africa, harboring an estimated 2,100 species. Extensive watershed deforestation threatens the biodiversity and ecological integrity of the lake. In this dissertation, ecological and paleoecological methods were employed to study the distribution of invertebrate biodiversity through space and time, with particular emphasis on linkages between biodiversity and land –use patterns.
