Issues in Automatic Video Biography Editing are similar to those in Video Scene Detection and Topic Detection and Tracking (TDT). The techniques of Video Scene Detection and TDT can be applied to interviews to reduce the time necessary to edit a video biography. The system has attacked the problems of extraction of video text, story segmentation, and correlation. This thesis project was divided into three parts: extraction, scene detection, and correlation. This thesis explores how U.S. newspapers framed the death of Captain America. Specifically, the presence of various frames and their classifications was determined via a content analysis of 139 newspaper articles. Additionally, this thesis explores relationships between frame substance and other frame classifications. Generic/recurring frames were more prevalent than issue-specific/recurring frames. This study sought to understand how middle-class, white, male baby boomers approach ageing in contemporary Western society. The thesis explored the relationship between bodily ageing and identity construction, and the influence of consumer culture in this process. By using a three-choice preference test I tested food preferences in eight meerkats (Sutricata suricatta) for nine different food items. The meerkats were presented with all possible combinations of 9 food items, in total 84 combinations. The meerkats displayed the following rank order of food preference: cricket > zophoba lava > egg white > banana = tomato > orange > apple > cucumber > carrot. Empirical measurements of the use of space of an enclosure are important indicators of the enclosure’s appropriateness for the exhibited animal. By studying the animal’s use of space zoological parks are able to provide a more species-adequate environment. In this study the utilization of space by the Siberian tigers held at Kolmården Djurpark was analyzed.
