The journalistic threads with which everyday life is entwined are the narrative articulations that this thesis analyzes. It investigates the temporal identity of journalistic narratives and the value that time plays for such a type of communication, by checking the contributions of journalism to the perception of social time. This research also investigates the notions of time that contribute to its legitimacy, while separating journalistic narrations into the production of past, present and future. The thesis purposes analyze these productions in two ways – as commemorations and as events - and investigates the need to celebrate the past and the ways that this celebration experience takes as history, as tradition and as memory, three different strategies of narratives of bygone days. It also notes the participation of the past in the construction of news, a particular form of producing events, different from that held by the historiographical operation. We present a typology of the uses of time in daily narratives of three newspapers with more than one hundred years in Rio de Janeiro: Jornal do Commercio, O Fluminense and Jornal do Brasil. These uses of time expose some functions performed by journalistic practices in everyday life, especially that of counting the course of time, either fixing it or potentiating its flow effect. Then, this thesis shows the concepts of history involved in these journalistic emplotments and, in a broader approach, investigates the long-term processes of signifying journalism by the different connections we have established over time with this social practice. Finally, we highlight the importance of journalistic narratives to frame multiple consciousness of history, due to their daily work of synthesizing gates to other times, whether to the past or to the future or even to the present as an extended territoriality larger than experiences personally attended. We tend to approach journalism as a particular form of social interaction, defined by a specific experience based on the periodicity and for whom most of its history has been based on the expectation and the generation of novelties.

Full textThe purpose of this research is to create a social-cultural history about the city of Sorocaba, in the corresponding period between the decade of 1890, when industrialization is intensified in the city, and the first years of the decade of 1940. Therefore the object to be studied is the city of Sorocaba itself during this period; the challenge is also to reflect about the entrance and specificity of the city in the modernity flow, a historical process regulated by the transformation and intensification of the capitalistic relations in the country. Concerning this issue, I intend to investigate aspects of the urban development that took place in Sorocaba, so in order to think of the city as an artifact, it is crucial to study a few fundamental urban improvements, like the introduction of the water and drain system and the use of electricity, and the representations, impressions and perceptions elaborated in this context that interact with these transformations. The idea is to search for and grasp the physiognomy of the city. Such modifications are implemented by the local governing elites, which consequently build an image of the city that would become known as the Manchester of São Paulo. Therefore, the aim is to analyze and historicize this symbolic construction, connecting it with other representations/ perceptions of the urbe, produced by several groups, segments and social classes in the daily routine, by this means the endeavor is to grasp the various practices, forms of sociability, that occur among different actors in the urban space as a consequence of the modifications that the city goes through during the observed period.

Full textThis paper aims to study the social aggregations’ every day life from Praça da Alfândega, located in the center of Porto Alegre city in Rio Grande Sul. The aspects of relationship and identity, the subjective and esthetic expressions, the borders of acquaintance as well as the territories settled by people who compounded these social groups in the space of Praça da Alfândega were investigated. Besides, this paper also aims to discuss relevant questions about the function of public space, citizenship and aspects about the forms of sociability and unsociability in modern metropolis. It is possible to affirm that Praça da Alfândega, on this mosaic of social representation adjacent territories and symbols form an important locus of analysis about urban space. For this reason, it becomes a dichotomic space both of material survival and of social acquaintance for the social forms, called social aggregations. Because of this reason, the study of the social aggregations’ every day life settled in Praça da Alfândega constitutes also an investigation about recent urban phenomena and their several and emergent social practices according to ways of life, symbolical forms, and settlement in big cities.

Full textThe didactics of adult education are usually studied with normative and deductive analytical instruments, which tend to produce results that merely confirm the researcher’s initial observations. This dissertation—an ethnomethodological case study—develops an analytical model for helping the learning facilitator arrive at the self-explication of a specific empirical and didactic reality by interpreting its constituent social and behavioral patterns and aspects through an abductive procedure the author calls “hermeneutics of action”. It effectively informs the decoding of both a specific and an overall context. This analytical tool, which the author comes to name the “everyday didactic configuration model”,can illuminate the inside and outside perspectives on one’s own pedagogical techniques. The model is intended as a contribution to theory-building fruitful for the andragogical community of practice.

This thesis has been put in the background of My creating process at the present stage. It is necessary,to my creating process,to doubt honestly about, first, the body gesture itself which, for a long time, has been influenced deeply and heavily by the habitual thinking, and, secondly,my self-concept and ego which have been inscribed, tamed and instructed out-and-out.It is both my crisis and opportunity to do this. Therefore,I will work out this treatise“creepingly”in the form of doubt-presenting and self-examining. In the foreword ,I try to present the condition on which the creators’ ego-self could be stretched and extended through his creative skills, and then try to arrange my thoughts of this creative argument and its dimensions. From this,I continue to point out the fact that only through insistent tries and accurate description can an artist achieve a desirable degree of adjacency of art---a kind of touching through which a creating body enters into its environment subtly and profoundly. The first chapter is a kind of presentation through question-and-answer in which I ask myself and I answer myself. My discussion goes round several topics concerning creating process and the sculpting of the creators’self. I observe myself along the crossing lines of questions and answers in which I act both as “me” and as the “others” Creation,in a way, proceeds on the eternally incessant rolling waves of asking and answering. Chapter two clarifies that the creator is part of the land, growing on the land, growing in the natural environment, mutually depending on each other.Regarding to the artistic and literal expressing in the existing situation of creation, and to the cleansing and changing between body, language and labor. The creator,in creating, must understand himself through the physical labor as he can,and practice some kind of restricted self-caring,to win the quality of “languagelessness”which bears a strong power to express some unique silence. That is a kind of spiritual sedimentation and a vital springing of the creative life. Chapter three argues that creating is a kind of silent self-to-self conversations---I write and I read,I speak and I listen, and I pile up a “me”in a secret mansion through the “other’s” hands. Besides,I,adopting dialectics between self and non-self,use the concept of “side-cutting”---cracking-in or breaking-out from the out-skirt of a meditating self,to study the active elements and structure of “self-caring”. The creative works presented in chapter four are expansions of my adolescence fancies.Placed in a cut-broken after-teenagerhood vacant spiritual space of enlightenment, and dreaming with a materialistic ahead-going,I try to recomb out the elemental body of creating, and come back home to the spiritual wildland. Then I work to clarify my body-view of creating and put it into a body practicing,to creat my inner scenery through language and non-language. In chapter five ,giving comments on the life skills and the main life-elements,I enter my good-old-days ‘mansion”---under time variations, though “chewing of cud,”letting caring come back to myself, practicing wholemindedly “selfcaring” or“getting away from self---and try to construct a practical life aesthetics. And in the concluding chapter,I make the point that a creative writing is presented in the looks of it literal mansion which can be shared by others as it offers a kind of “blankness”in which the author, through his practical inner inspection and brewing, undertakes a changing process from daily-life-experiences to work-experiences.But,such blankness,as referring to creating itslf,is still a traceable ahead-leading trail between creating and thinking.

Full textThe notion of everyday life is inevitably linked to the present. Art arises from theexperience of individuals, their intentions and the circumstances of any place. And,every artist inevitably participates in the daily life that he / she shares with his / her audience. We must therefore think of the moments when we encounter new situations, atrandom in everyday life. It opens up to others, to a world that is indifferent, dangerous, but also seductive and fascinating. This experience would be considered as a way tostop the world, to stop the mechanical life and space, if only for a brief moment. Inshort, the "here and now" is manifested through visual tools, exacerbating, in particular, the features of a milieu, an environment, a place. This thesis attempts to narrate someprocesses involved in the production of works, in order to insist for each work on methodsof expression and transformation. It will then be a question of presenting the worksunder the sign of a daily reading, in the optics of a rediscovery of forms and, cultures, with a centered attention on the man: his representation, his environment and his modeof life are the three components of this thesis. More precisely, it is a matter of testingthese notions of "monad" and "nomad" in the real space of life. For this reason, thisstudy could be perceived as a momentum comparable to an art lived "here and now".Unlike painting, in this respect, this art is not only representable by a variety of people in itself, but it has a limit in that it can not solicit the same reactions from each of thesepeople. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is that there is no imposition of a certainbehavior, at a certain time in the face of a certain work, but rather an instantaneity assumedin the face of always renewed situations. Thus, through this thesis that drawsutopias of proximity, we question an urban bodily experience that differs from the usualreferences (city-neighborhood, territorial construction and identity). Our questioningtherefore remains guided by the consideration of variations of the urban by the body andvice versa. This thesis finally becomes possible to provoke the daily use of the meeting, toplay the practices of contemporary art, become the reflection of an amplified daily life. All this is a discourse heard but whose modalities, in our opinion, are constantly to bereconsidered and rebuilt. In this hypothesis, everyone becomes his own mediatorcontributing to the renewal and spectacularization of the world. Finally, we are back onthe wall yet we know that it is our job to graft the reality. At the same time, we haveagain the possibility of appealing to universality in an attempt to reveal the internalstructure of contemporary daily life, even though it would be a question ofcontemplating the duplicity and ambiguity of one's own daily existence
