Simple statistical model has been used to report the thermodynamic, structural, transport and surface properties of liquid Ag-Au alloys at 1350K. In thermodynamic properties we have studied the free energy of mixing, heat of mixing, entropy of mixing and the chemical activity of both components of the alloys. For the structural investigation, our study includes concentration fluctuation in long wave length limit and Warren-Cowley short range order parameter. Viscosity and diffusivity of the alloys have been studied to understand transport properties. The surface behavior has been analyzed by c

Structure on long- and intermediate-length scales in polymer-containing ionic liquids is investigated on the basis of the polymer integral equation method. The structural features of flexible homopolymer chains and the ions of the solvent are analyzed in reciprocal space using partial structure factors. There is a range of polymer concentrations at which the long-range correlations of polymer chains are observed. When these correlations are pronounced, the decrease of the characteristic scale of the long-range polymer ordering with increasing polymer concentration fits a power law. The effect

The multi-faceted nature of twentieth-century music is anything but familiar to listeners who are accustomed to hearing Western music based on ideas steeped in the classical tradition. The emergence of new tonalities and atonality as well as new temporalities challenged and revolutionized commonly accepted notions of musical sound and musical motion. The surge of new music characterized by the treatment of sound as independent entity, the absence of functional tonality and the dissolution of metric order has created new demands on the perceptual-cognition abilities of the listener. Abstract:
One of the major problems associated with developing fitness-for-purpose procedures for sleeve and branch welds is the prediction of the local stress distribution at the welds. Since the presence of a sleeve or branch will increase the local stiffness of the pipe and give rise to local stress concentration effects, the stress distribution at sleeve or branch welds cannot be readily estimated using simple stress analysis. This project studied the structural behavior of sleeve and branch connections in pipelines. Because these connections create local stress concentration effects, where several

Abstract:
Nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems hold promise for improving therapeutic efficacy and targeting precision. However, a critical challenge in their development is ensuring size stability, as particle size directly influences biodistribution, cellular uptake, and drug release profiles. This study establishes a streamlined methodology to assess nanoparticle size consistency by comparing three widely used characterization techniques: Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA). Two types of nanoparticles were analyzed: 100

Proteins are important macromolecules responsible for a variety of processes in living organisms. One of the most important features of proteins is their ability to respond to environmental stimuli, such as changes in intracellular metal concentration by binding metal ions, which in turns triggers structural changes within the protein that can modify its function or allow the protein to participate in a signaling pathway. One such signaling protein is the so-called neuronal calcium sensor 1 protein or NCS1, which binds Ca2+ along with other abiogenic metals such as Li+, and the metal binding r

Abstract:
Ethylene is a plant hormone that controls many plant responses, such as growth, senescence, ripening, abscission and seed germination. Recently, 1-methy- cyclopropene (1-MCP), was shown to bind to ethylene receptor for a certain period of time and prevent ethylene action. The objectives of this research were to synthesize analogues of 1-MCP and test their potency to block the ethylene receptor and inhibit ethylene action. During the course of this project, procedures for synthesis and shipment of the cyclopropene compounds were developed as well assay procedures for each compound were worked o

Abstract:
In the last three decades, the supply of housing in Argentina has not kept pace with demand. This study analyzes the main drivers of Argentina's housing market and relates them to the macroeconomic environment in order to advance a policy agenda for housing policy reform. The demand for housing was calculated and tenure choice was analyzed. Structural characteristics affecting Argentina's housing market include the high concentration of the urban population in a few large metropolitan areas, te association of urban poverty with the housing deficit, and overcrowding. The mortgage market lost it

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to understand whether what has been labelled as “twin transition”, at first as a policy flagship, endogenously emerges as a new technological trajectory stemming by the convergence of the green and digital technologies. Embracing an evolutionary approach to technology, we first identify the set of relevant technologies defined as “green”, analyse their evolution in terms of dominant blocks within the green technologies and concurrences with digital technologies, drawing on 560,720 granted patents by the US Patent Office from 1976 to 2024. Three dominant blocks emerge a
