Abstract:
Value Analysis (VA), as it was originally conceived, was defined and applied as a cost cutting tool, in order to make products more competitive. That short scope was early identified as limiting further developments and applications of the concept, by its initial pathfinder, if no extra effort was made to take the concept into other levels of management and, consequently, of business. The many different and alternative applications of the concept and of its original methodology have taken many professional practitioners and scholars to theorize and apply new concepts and methods. We can find a tremendous number of different learning exercises and theoretical evolution from that work, but that has not yet answered many aspirations regarding the initial concept of value and value analysis. This paper aims at bringing a new and more comprehensive understanding to professional practitioners, scholars, trainers and students, about some major concepts and applied methodologies in the disciplines of Value Management (VM), Value Analysis (VA) and Value Engineering (VE).

Abstract:
The term of consumption value is a dynamic and a developing concept. Consumption value is often identified as synonymous to the terms of costumer value or user perceived quality for the goods or services. Variety of interpretations of consumption value concept prevailing in the scientific literature, presupposes the further theoretical research of its genesis. The aim of the paper – to create principal scheme of evolution of consumption value concept. In order to achieve the aim, following tasks were raised: to provide the links between the terms of quality and the user perceived value; to define the ratio between concepts of the value to the consumer and the consumption value; to create principal scheme of consumption value evolution concept. Study methodology: analysis of the scientific articles which deal with the theoretical aspects of the consumption value, user perceived value and costumer value in order to determine the origin of the formation of consumption value concept. Information were grouped and structured, revealing the following graph and influence to the formation of the consumption value concept. Based on the analysis, the principal scheme of consumption value concept`s evolution were created.

Abstract:
The evolution of CSR is largely the history of reconciling economic goals of business and social goals of society. Relatively recent CSR related concepts “creating shared value” (CSV) and “integrated value creation” (IVC) aim at aligning interests of business and society by producing economic and social value simultaneously. The purpose of this article is to compare the CSV and IVC concepts and show their relation to CSR. In particular, we discuss whether CSV and IVC can be regarded as substitutes for CSR, varieties of CSR or completely new paradigms, and come to the conclusion that the positioning of both concepts depends on how broadly CSR is defined. We summarize major criticisms of the CSV concept and provide our own vision of the strengths and limitations of both concepts, showing why at least the CSV concept cannot supplant CSR. Comparing CSV and IVC, we focus on the differences between them and show that IVC represents a more fundamental shift in business philosophy and aims at a deeper and system-wide rather than local and fragmentary integration within society. We maintain that the CSV and IVC ideas can and should be used in strategic planning as inspiration for innovative thinking, as guidelines for increasing business competitiveness and societal well-being. We also point out the need for refining methodological frameworks for the practical implementation of the CSV and IVC ideas.

AbstractThis paper aims to show that the concept of intrinsic value — value as distinct from exchange-value — became an increasingly important element of Karl Marx's critique of political economy. The existence of the distinction is not unknown, but its importance to Marx's work is under-appreciated and the nature of the distinction is often misunderstood.

<em>Abstract : </em> This article reflects on the concept of value, one of Saussure's key concepts in semiology: this notion allows Saussure to avoid the question of traditional signification, which would involve a restricted understanding of language as a set of signifieds (signifi&eacute;s) that would communicate the idea of the speaker. "The essence of the language" appears as a complex tangle where the signs take on meaning in relation to others, hence the idea of value. This article proposes to analyze how the concept of value has led to the renewal of linguistics and resulted in the reinvigoration of its functioning. In order to do so, it will reflect on the meaning of the term value, before examining how it operates at the level of sound, word and literature.&nbsp;

Abstract:
Abstract This article takes up the processual account of drive and its derivations in relation to desire and emotion with an aim to explore the continuity of feeling from internal drive to value in the world. A mental state or act of cognition begins with an impulse and the category of instinctual drive. Drive partitions to desire, which is shaped by value. The combined concept/feeling can remain internal as emotion or distribute into action in vocalization or display. The transition in the mental state from drive (need) through desire (want) is constrained by intrinsic value, which accompanies the object outward as extrinsic value (worth). The partly intrapersonal nature of action prevents feeling from externalizing. Feeling drives concepts to completion. Concepts propelled by feeling undergo specification to images and/or objects. The feeling in the action gives intensity to emotion; the concept in the perception gives the quality of emotion. Feeling empowers concepts to finality, as emotions, ideas, or act/objects. In the animal mind, feeling empowers drive categories. In the human mind, feeling distributes as emotion into a diversity of ideas. Feeling unfelt in lower organisms is felt in a human mind according to the degree of individuation.

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to assess the factors affecting budget performance through the concept of value for money. This quantitative study uses a rating scale and a survey. The samples included 426 government officials from 43 regional organizations in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The final sample size was 153 respondents. According to the results, participatory budgeting (β = 0.190; p-value = 0.017 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05), budget goal clarity (β = 0.428; p-value = 0.000 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05), and commitment (β = 0.339; p-value = 0.000 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05) have a direct impact on budget performance. As a moderating variable, organizational culture affected participatory budgeting (β = 0.047; p-value = 0.004 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05), budget goal clarity (β = 0.091; p-value = 0.000 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05), and commitment (β = 0.066; p-value = 0.000 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05). Moreover, motivation, as a moderating variable, affected participatory budgeting (β = 0.041; p-value = 0.019 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05), budget goal clarity (β = 0.078; p-value = 0.000 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05), and commitment (β = 0.070; p-value = 0.000 &amp;amp;lt; 0.05). This study offers significant implications for local government officials in selecting the most effective variables to improve budget performance. For policymakers, the findings suggest supporting skill optimization to carry out government tasks. Finally, it is necessary to reconsider the approach to training the local government staff.

Abstract:
Purpose – This paper aims to focus on the value of workplace concepts. The aim is twofold. First, the development of expected value into actual perceived value of workplace concept is studied together with the methods adopted to realise such value. After this, the perceived value of concepts is analysed in more detail to supplement the literature. Design/methodology/approach – The identified relationship is analysed qualitatively through six Finnish case organisations. The data were collected both through interviews and observations and analysed through coding. Findings – The actual perceived value of the workplace concepts was richer than the expected value before the workplace implementation. The direction from cost- to business- workplace strategies was noticed. Active employee involvement and orientation towards their needs, as well as also the activity-based offices with unassigned workspaces and more meeting areas, were the main tools and methods used to perceive the value. Practical implications – More organisations develop their own workplace concepts. For practitioners, this paper offers the insight on what was expected, provides the workplace concept development results and practical insights into realizing such value from the organisational perspective. Originality/value – The value of this paper lies in the relationship between the expected value from the workplace concept and the actual perceived value of the concept, along with tools and methods to perceive it.

Abstract:
Many philosophers of science have maintained that science should be value-free; still others believe that such ideal is neither achievable nor desirable for science. Hugh Lacey is presently one of the main supporters of the idea of value-free science and his theory is probably the most debated today and attracts the most attention and criticism. Therefore, in this text, I will primarily analyze his theory of value-free science. After briefly defining the notion of value I highlight which strategy Lacey chooses to lay a firm foundation for the concept of science without value, with his starting point being the differentiation between cognitive and non-cognitive values. Then I describe three basic characteristics of Lacey’s value-free science: impartiality, neutrality, and autonomy. However, the overall plan and design of his project, together with some concrete steps he takes, are not without problems in our view. I will try to point out some of these problematic issues and provide brief suggestions for alleviating them.

Abstract:
The choice problem within the philosophical researches is widely presented, historically the problem of the choice was considered originally in philosophical anthropology in the context of a free will problem. But in educational practice it is possible to observe a gap between theories of the choice, decision-making and concrete ways of practical work with the choice i.e. if in most cases the theoretical analysis of a problem is submitted widely, then a practical part, namely didactic conditions, technologies of expansion either are presented narrowly, or are absent in general. Insufficiency of a research of didactic conditions and development tools of the personal sphere of pupils by means of use in training of situations of the value-sense choice has formed the basis of the choice of a subject of a research. For any scientific research accurate definition of a concept is basic. The value-sense choice is the choice between alternatives with the creation of comparison by the subject of criteria where criteria of comparison are under construction through a prism of the available values and meanings and the choice of an alternative to being carried out in favour of the arising its personal sense. In article differentiation between the concept "value-sense choice" and the concepts "idle time", "personal choice", "vital choice", "vital choice", "semantic choice", "personal choice", "personally significant choice", "existential choice", partially similar to him, is carried out.

Abstract:
Algebra students often have difficulty in sorting out and correctly using the concepts involved in the solution of linear inequalities. The introduction of the concept of absolute value causes additional complications for many students. Two of the major problem areas are (1) the concept of absolute value as normally defined and (2) the recognition and appropriate use of the logical connectives and and or in the solution of problems that combine inequalities with absolute value. One way to alleviate students' confusion and promote their problem-solving ability in such a setting is to adopt an approach different from that found in current textbooks. This approach involves consideration of the function concept as the graph generated by associated ordered pairs of real numbers rather than functional values as obtained from the standard definition of absolute value.

Abstract:
Throughout this research the customer valuation trend in marketing is going to be reviewed, emphasizing Customer Lifetime Value and Customer Equity measures. The main theoretical contributions in the development and evolution of the Customer Lifetime Value concept are analyzed. Customer Lifetime Value is also differentiated from Customer Equity and Customer Profitability analysis to estimate customer value in terms of firm profitability. Customer Lifetime Value and Customer Equity concepts are formally defined. Additionally, a classification of a set of published research into Customer Lifetime Value and/or Customer Equity is developed. This classification has been posited according to several criteria that serves as a guide to key requirements for developing these types of models. Finally, several conclusions, suggestions, and future research streams are highlighted.
