Although it has been used for many years, an existing computer code, developed to simulate the laminar opposed-jet diffusion flame (LOJDF), was found not to be written in an user-friendly fashion. This was especially true for the portion dealing with calculation of thermochemical properties. <p> In this project we created a hydrodynamic model of the Lower Green Bay of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, United States using the Visual Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC). The model includes four tributary rivers to Lower Green Bay as well as the open boundary flow conditions at Chambers Island. The ability of the open-source CFD software OpenFOAM® has been studied to simulate these phenomena. The CFD model has been compared with the physical experimental results. År 2009 kom en ändring av strandskyddslagen, där bland annat 7 kap. 14 § miljöbalken(MB) fick en ny formulering. Den nya lydelsen innebar en skärpning av kravet för att få utvidga strandskyddet. I samband med lagändringen gav regeringen i uppgift till Länsstyrelsen att utföra en översyn av de utvidgade strandskydden i Sverige och ta nya beslut i de fall som behövdes. Länsstyrelsen fick fram till 31 december 2014 på sig att genomföra översynsarbetet. Eftersom arbetet nyligen är avslutad, finns ännu ingen sammanställning av resultatet på nationell nivå.
