Self-managing work groups are a form of work design in which employees take responsibility for the group's tasks and have discretion over decisions which impact group performance. To explore the impact of age and work teams on job attitudes, data from 477 employees suggested that self-managed work group members differed from traditional job holders regarding perceived general job satisfaction, perceived control by supervisors, as well as a number of specific dimensions of the work environment. The finite-set statistics (FISST) foundational approach to multitarget tracking and information fusion has inspired work by dozens of research groups in at least 20 nations; and FISST publications have been cited tens of thousands of times. This review paper addresses a recent and cutting-edge aspect of this research: exact closed-form—and, therefore, provably Bayes-optimal—approximations of the multitarget Bayes filter. The five proposed such filters—generalized labeled multi-Bernoulli (GLMB), labeled multi-Bernoulli mixture (LMBM), and three Poisson multi-Bernoulli mixture (PMBM) filter vari

Schoenberg's D-minor Quartet, Opus 7, is distinctive for fusing elements of sonata and four-movement form into an immense fifty-minute work that coheres primarily by thematic processes and relationships. The numerous sketches for the quartet reveal that the task of achieving both thematic continuity on such a scale and adequate contrast between sections challenged even the normally rapid and "spontaneous" composer, who had to stop at certain points to revise his compositional strategy. Schoenberg resorted at these points to groups of brief concept sketches to work out the thematic associations
