Abstract:
Link community gradually unfolds its capacity in complex network research. In this paper, a novel link similarity measure on line graphs is proposed. This measure can be adapted to different types of networks with an adjustable parameter. We prove its value converges to a limit on line graphs with the relationship of the nonneighbor links taken into account. Based on this similarity measure, we propose a novel link community detection algorithm for link clustering on line graphs. The detection algorithm combines the novel link similarity measure with the classic Markov Cluster (MCL) Algorithm

The solution of the non-Abelian SU (N) quantum Chern–Simons field theory defined in R3 is presented. It is shown how to compute the expectation values of the Wilson line operators, associated with oriented framed links, in closed form. The main properties of the universal link polynomial, defined by these expectation values, are derived in the case of a generic real simple Lie algebra. The resulting polynomials for some simple examples of links are reported.

Rectangular diagrams of links are link diagrams in the plane ℝ2 such that they are composed of vertical line segments and horizontal line segments and vertical segments go over horizontal segments at all crossings. Cromwell and Dynnikov showed that rectangular diagrams of links are useful for deciding whether a given link is split or not, and whether a given knot is trivial or not. We show in this paper that an oriented link diagram D with c(D) crossings and s(D) Seifert circles can be deformed by an ambient isotopy of ℝ2 into a rectangular diagram with at most c(D) + 2s(D) vertical segments,

AbstractThe hyperbolic volume of a link complement is known to be unchanged when a half-twist is added to a link diagram, and a suitable 3-punctured sphere is present in the complement. We generalise this to the simplicial volume of link complements by analysing the corresponding toroidal decompositions. We then use it to prove a refined upper bound for the volume in terms of twists of various lengths for links.

In this note, we will study Δ link homotopy (or self Δ-equivalence), which is an equivalence relation of ordered and oriented link types. Previously, a necessary condition is given in the terms of Conway polynomials for two link types to be Δ link homotopic. A pair of numerical invariants δ1 and δ2 classifies all (ordered and oriented) prime 2-component link types with seven crossings or less up to Δ link homotopy. We will show here that for any pair of integers n1 and n2 there exists a 2-component link κ such that δ1(κ) = n1 and δ2(κ) = n2 provided that at least one of n1 and n2 is even.

Therefore, this paper proposes a new link deflection model, compatible with the bending mechanism of flexible links. Then a new nonlinear dynamic model is der
