Systematic list of the Romanian vertebrate fauna Compiling different bibliographical sources, a total of 732 taxa of specific and subspecific order remained. It is about the six large vertebrate classes of Romanian fauna. The first class (Cyclostomata) is represented by only four species, and Pisces (here considered super-class) - by 184 taxa. The rest of 544 taxa belong to Tetrapoda super-class which includes the other four vertebrate classes: Amphibia (20 taxa); Reptilia (31); Aves (382) and Mammalia (110 taxa).

This paper reports on two research results: ( 1) designing an English for Specific Purposes (esp) corpus architecture complete with annotations structured by regular expressions; and ( 2) a case study to test the design to cater for creating a specific vocabulary list using the compiled corpus. The first half of this study involved designing a precisely structured esp corpus from 190 veterinary medical charts with a hierarchy of the data. The data hierarchy in the corpus consists of document types, outline elements and inline elements, such as species and breed. Perl scripts extracted the data

Dutch scholarship is so international in outlook that it tends to overlook the particular contributions of the Dutch themselves. The last general overview of Dutch scholarly literature appeared thirty-five years ago, Wabeke’s A guide to Dutch bibliographies (1951). The following survey offers an interim update of bibliographical material for art historians. The compilers are dismayed that there is so little that can be listed here, not least because of promising initiatives which have not been brought to fruition. The introduction of automated data processing improves access to information but

Nowadays, because of the tremendous amount of information that humans and machines produce every day, it has become increasingly hard to choose the more relevant content across a broad range of choices. This research focuses on the design of two different intelligent optimization methods using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for real-life applications that are used to improve the process of generation of recommenders. In the first method, the modified cluster based intelligent collaborative filtering is applied with the sequential clustering that operates on the values of dataset,

How to evaluate candidates properly leaving the search process behind? While having a list of candidates on our hands it is very important to choose the best one, and only afterwards we should develop a proper situational leadership system. It is necessary to have the “right” people on the “right positions”, and the choice should be made by using a number of approaches to personnel selection and evaluation.

Background: Clinical trials, key elements of the processes that account for many of the recent advances in cancer care, are becoming more complex and challenging to conduct. The Stephenson Cancer Center (SCC) has been the lead accruer to NCI-LAP trials over the past three years, and in addition, fields investigator initiated and industry sponsored trials. To identify opportunities for continued improvement in clinical trial enrolment, we sought to identify the obstacles encountered by our clinical trial staff in these activities. At first glance, well testing may not come across as high-tech. At a time of rampant digitalization, with catchy phrasing such as “machine learning” and “Internet of things,” how can we compete with “slip joints” and “Bourdet derivatives” from the ’80s? Further down Memory Lane, bubble buckets and semilog graph paper look even more as if they are from a bygone era. Yet the former are still relied upon in specific onshore applications (I used one 2 years ago), and petroleum engineering students continue to learn the fundamentals of pressure transient analysis with the latter. Which parties benefit from open-list (as opposed to closed-list) proportional representation elections? This article shows that a move from closed-list to open-list competition is likely to be more favorable to parties with more internal disagreement on salient issues; this is because voters who might have voted for a unified party under closed lists may be drawn to specific candidates within internally divided parties under open lists. The study provides experimental evidence of this phenomenon in a hypothetical European Parliament election in the UK, in which using an open-list ballot would

Works cited in six forensic psychology journals published 2008–2010 were counted to identify the most frequently cited journals. The sample of works cited ( N = 21,776) was not a definitive ranked list of important journals in forensic psychology, but was large enough to indicate high-impact journals. The list of frequently cited publications included more general psychiatry and psychology journals than titles specific to forensic psychology. The implications of the proportion of general versus specific titles for collections supporting research in forensic psychology were discussed.
