Histological studies were carried out and morphological features were examined that were removed by hemangiomas before and after cryo-sclerosing therapy. The morphological study showed that in 50.0% — the tumour had the structure of (simple) capillary hemangioma, in 35.7% — cavernous hemangioma and in 18.3% of the combined hemangioma. In hemangiomas removed after cryo–clotting therapy, there are signs indicating their recurrence. Over time, hemangiomas increased in size. Properties of aggregates are affected by their morphological characteristics, including shape factors, angularity and texture. These morphological characteristics influence the aggregate's mutual interactions and strengths of bonds between the aggregates and the binder. The interactions between aggregates and bond strengths between the aggregate and the binder are vital to rheological properties, related to workability and friction resistance of mixtures. As a consequence, quantification of the aggregate's morphological characteristics is essential for better quality control and performance

Abstract:
Wupatki National Monument contains an abundance of prehistoric and historic archaeological sites that are vulnerable to gully erosion from heavy sporadic rainstorms. Increased erosional risks are predicted as more extreme weather causes frequent or intense rainfall, flooding, and gullying. At Wupatki National Monument, gullies generally form on hillslopes within volcanic-derived cinders that are ubiquitous across the landscape and are unconsolidated, non-cohesive, highly mobile, and permeable. Lithological differences between volcanic cinders and underlying sedimentary rocks, and surface runof

Soil microorganisms enhance the plant availability of phosphorus (P). This ability is related to the production of organic acids and the activity of phosphatases. It is assumed that the production of organic acids solubilize insoluble phosphate forms to usable form such as orthophosphate, increasing its potential availability to plants (Vázquez et al. 2000). Filamentous fungi such as Trichoderma sp. have advantages in acid soils presenting morphological and metabolic characteristics that make them promising organisms (Nahas, 1996; Vera et al, 2002). On the other hand, inoculation of soil with

Original objectives: The overall goal of our work was to gain information regarding the genetic and molecular control of pathways leading to the production of secondary metabolites determining major fruit quality traits in pepper and to develop tools based on this information to assist in crop improvement. The specific objectives were to: (1) Generate a molecular map of pepper based on simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. (2) Map QTL for capsaicinoid (pungency) content (3) Determine possible association between capsaicinoid and carotenoid content and structural genes for capsaicinoid and caro

Beach cusp characteristics were explored using 15 months of 3D lidar scans collected hourly at the Duck, NC, Field Research Facility. Fourier analyses performed on lidar-derived beach elevation contours generated spatial cusp spectra. Active cusp events identified from the location and magnitude of each spectrum’s peak were used to evaluate conditions during cusp formation and evolution. Cusps primarily developed during normally-incident, long-period, low-energy wave conditions with low frequency spread and reflective beach conditions. Often, however, persistent upper-beach cusps lasted days t

The need to improve energy efficiency of the building stock has led to a continuous increase in the implementation of exterior thermal insulation systems, such as ETICS. Progressively, these systems are being applied with darker colours, increasing the concern for hygrothermal behaviour and durability. Despite the significant developed studies, very few reports regarding their optical properties are available. The optical and catalytic capacity turns nanomaterials into excellent candidates for use in finishing coatings with high solar reflectance with dark colours without affecting the aesthet

Abstract:
The Dong Nai Delta in Vietnam has been projected to face long-term changes in physical conditions stemming from climate change. Sea level rise combined with changes in the hydrologic cycle will result in increased salinity conditions, causing significant damage to the current style of agricultural production. Adapting to these changes in salinity will require not only adjusting the cropping patterns, but also new water infrastructure investments. Two important questions arise for planners and practitioners. First, a balance needs to be found with regards to the appropriate timing of the invest
