A novel all-polymer flexural plate wave (FPW) sensor from a piezoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) thin-film with poly-(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) poly- (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) interdigital transducer (IDT) electrodes has been fabricated and characterized. PVDF films are made piezoelectric by stretching and poling. X-ray diffraction measurements confirm the transition of the PVDF into its piezoelectric β-phase. Long bone fractures are fixed with bone plates to restrain movement of bone fragments. Fracture site must experience some pressure for proper healing. Bone plates are mostly made up of metals having 5 - 10 times higher elastic modulus than bones and most of the load is carried by them, leading to stress shielding and a bony tissue with low mineral density and strength. To avoid these problems, biodegradable polymer-based composite plates were designed and tested in this study. Abstract:
This project is aimed at developing and demonstrating highly conductive, lightweight, and low-cost thermoplastic blends to be used as flow field bipolar plates for polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells.

The research is focused on designing, prototyping, and testing carbon-filled thermoplastic composites with high electrical conductivity, as well as suitable mechanical and process properties.

The impact of different types of fillers on the composite blend properties was evaluated, as well as the synergetic effect of mixtures of fill types within a thermoplast
