A preliminary experiment showed that sampling site, dosing time and passage model had little influence on passage parameter estimates for grain in lactating cows. For this purpose, three thermophilic fungi Humicola insolens, Torula thermophila and Thermomyces lanuginosus were screened for lactase production.
