Abstract:
Archaeologists have likely collected, as a conservative estimate, billions of artifacts over the course of the history of fieldwork. We have classified chronologies and typologies of these, based on various formal and physical characteristics or ethno-historically known analogues, to give structure to our interpretations of the people that used them. The simple truth, nonetheless, is that we do not actually know how they were used or their intended purpose. We only make inferences—i.e., educated guesses based on the available evidence as we understand it—regarding their functions in the past and the historical behaviors they reflect. Since those inferences are so fundamental to the interpretations of archaeological materials, and the archaeological project as a whole, the way we understand materiality can significantly bias the stories we construct of the past. Recent work demonstrated seemingly contradictory evidence between attributed purpose or function versus confirmed use, however, which suggested that a basic premise of those inferences did not empirically hold to be true. In each case, the apparent contradiction was resolved by reassessing what use, purpose, and function truly mean and whether certain long-established functional categories of artifacts were in fact classifying by function. The resulting triangulation, presented here, narrows the scope on such implicit biases by addressing both empirical and conceptual aspects of artifacts. In anchoring each aspect of evaluation to an empirical body of data, we back ourselves away from our assumptions and interpretations so as to let the artifacts speak for themselves.

Abstract:
The study of Usul Fiqh only feels essential when it deals with different problems whose orders it executes not involve in the offer of the old Fiqh. Besides that, with the rising number of participants of comparative school legislation alike to discover out which idea is more powerful, since closely as the effort to transform Islamic rule, it will increase appeared in how urgent the role of Ushul Fiqh is. The paper tries to present this discussion to suggest the relevance of this idea of Fiqh in dealing with legal issues dealt with by Muslims who sometimes put on nonessential issues. The author organized research with a comparative descriptive analysis. This study organized a view of the works of Usul Fiqh along with the rules contained there in along with the development of Usul Fiqh and its benefits from time to time. The authors identify that Ushul Fiqh plays a highly considerable position in the improvement of Islamic law. Not merely that, Usul Fiqh, the essential function of Usul Fiqh, is to improve someone to find out the rules they take based on syar'i arguments, so that they do not rely very often on considering other people whose bases they do not have. There are not a few obstacles in the Islamic world community with the presence of discoveries by scientists who require answers and confidence of Islamic law.

Abstract:
This article explores the purpose for which GAS, as a data analytics tool, is utilised by internal audit functions in Australia. A quantitative research method was applied, and the data was analysed using descriptive statistics. The total number of online questionnaires returned was 50 (i.e., a response rate of 15.53%) from the total research population of 322 chief audit executives of internal audit functions of organisations that are registered members with the IIA-Australia. The purpose of descriptive statistics is to describe what the data looks like and to compare variables numerically; therefore, no inferences or extrapolation of the data results were made. The results of the study can be used as a benchmark that may enable CAEs to identify whether they are staying abreast of current best practice in the area of technology-based tools and techniques for tests of controls.

Abstract:
<span lang="EN-US">This study was carried out to identify the predictors of instant messaging use for academic purposes among undergraduates at Faculty of Educational Studies in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Predictors studied were perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, perceived convenience, attitude toward use and behavior intention to use instant messaging for academic purposes. A total of 285 samples were selected from undergraduates. Data were collected in a quantitative manner using a questionnaire. The inferential statistic confirmed the significant positive relationship between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, perceived convenience, attitude toward use and behavior intention with the use of instant messaging for academic purposes. All relationship was identified as moderate. Also, the multiple linear regressions analysis was used to identify predictors of six independent variables that contributed towards the use of instant messaging. Finally, the results showed the predictors of instant messaging use for academic purposes amongst students were the perceived usefulness, perceived convenience and attitude towards the use of instant messaging. The study indicated that when students feel by using the instant messaging is useful and convenience to them, they will use it. Besides that, positive attitudes towards using instant messaging is among critical factor for the students to use it. This finding further suggests that students in general positively view of instant messaging as a useful tool that supports them in communicating between peers and lecturers. This further suggests that instant messaging platforms are likely to have a positive perception and students feel pleased to use instant messaging as tools of communication.</span>

AbstractThe purpose an organisation attaches to its intranet should be the starting point for justifying an intranet project, defining use cases and ultimately being able to measure its success. An intranet's prospects for success are best when it is perceived as a tool for operations management. Full text
Abstract:
This is a review of the concepts of purpose, direction, and objective in the discipline of thermodynamics, which is a pillar of physics, natural sciences, life science, and engineering science. Reviewed is the relentless evolution of this discipline toward accounting for evolutionary design with direction, and for establishing the concept of purpose in methodologies of modeling, analysis, teaching, and design optimization. Evolution is change after change toward flow access, with direction in time, and purpose. Evolution does not have an ‘end’. In thermodynamics, purpose is already the defining feature of methods that have emerged to guide and facilitate the generation, distribution, and use of motive power, heating, and cooling: thermodynamic optimization, exergy-based methods (i.e., exergetic, exergoeconomic, and exergoenvironmental analysis), entropy generation minimization, extended exergy, environomics, thermoecology, finite time thermodynamics, pinch analysis, animal design, geophysical flow design, and constructal law. What distinguishes these approaches are the purpose and the performance evaluation used in each method.
