Abstract The present study focuses on two Baltic-type peat bogs in Slowinski National Park, namely that at Żarnowskie and at Kluki, located in the Lake Łebsko catchment and both characterised by a centrally located dome with a very marshy fringe area featuring an emerging marshy coniferous forest (Vaccinio uliginosi-Pinetum). The Red River krait Bungarus slowinskii has hitherto been known only from six localities in northern and central Vietnam and central Laos. In this paper, the first country record of this species is reported for Thailand. One adult specimen was observed and photographed in the evergreen forest in the mountainous Doi Phu Kha National Park, Nan Province, eastern North Thailand. Its morphological characteristics closely matched those in the previous records of B. slowinskii. The new record extends the range of the species about 200 km to the west.

In 2015, the Natural Sounds and Night Skies Division (NSNSD) received a request to collect baseline acoustical data at Mesa Verde National Park (MEVE). Between July and August 2015, as well as February and March 2016, three acoustical monitoring systems were deployed throughout the park, however one site (MEVE002) stopped recording after a couple days during the summer due to wildlife interference.
