In 2000, the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia in the specialty 14.00.22 (traumatology and orthopedics) reviewed and approved 122 dissertations, including 30 (24.6%) doctoral (in 1999 - 19, or 18.6% ) and 92 (75.4%) candidates (in 1999 - 83, or 81.4%). There were no dissertations rejected. There were no violations of the Regulations of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation during the defense of dissertations.

This thesis examines the recently decided Supreme Court case Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. The case regards campaign finance reform, and has raised significant controversy recently. This thesis will evaluate the arguments from both the dissent and the majority opinions, contextualize these arguments with respect to the history of campaign finance reform and the history of the legislation with regard to corporations, and will ultimately pass judgment on whether the Court was correct in its decision. Implications for the post-Citizens world will also be considered.

In the 2010 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, the Court held that political speech of corporations is entitled to the same rights as political speech by individuals.
