This paper examines the impact of the building or renovation of a sports arena on net migration and amenity premiums. Swedish municipal data is collected for 289 municipalities over the period 1999 to 2016. The econometric analysis makes use of fixed effects (FE) and feasible generalised linear squares (FGLS) estimation techniques. In 2011 Storvreta IK installed two solar collector systems in order to reduce the club’s electricity demand for domestic hot water. However, electricity use from 2012 to 2015 shows that the expected reduction in the electricity demand has not occurred. The aim of this study is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the underrepresentation of women working as sports journalists at local newspapers in Sweden. This study also aims to investigate how the Swedish Union of Journalists works to improve gender equality for female sports journalists.
