Abstract:
AbstractThe Tsinghua manuscript *Ming xun 命訓 contains a compound sentence that reads: 大命殜罰少命=身. In an earlier article, the author translated this sentence as “The great mandate for generations punishes; the minor mandates command the person,” understanding the “=” mark to indicate that the preceding character ming 命 was to be repeated. However, scholars in China have recently noted that the “=” mark can also indicate the repetition of characters that occur in the same context earlier in the text. This would suggest that the “=” mark here indicates the repetition of the word fa 罰 in the preceding clause, such that the sentence should read “The great mandate punishes the world; minor mandates punish the person,” which is the reading of the received text of the Ming xun. This scribal practice has important implications for the reading of other manuscripts as well.

Abstract*Ming xun 命訓 is a text included among the Tsinghua University corpus of Warring States manuscripts and corresponds with a chapter by the same title in the Yi Zhou shu 逸周書. Although the manuscript and received text are quite similar, nevertheless there are numerous textual variants between them. This study provides examples of these variants, divided into five different categories: mis-writing or mis-copying; classifier variation; phonetic loans; graphic similarity; added or deleted text, as well as a sixth type of variant that might be termed “identical variants.” The study also provides complete translations of both the manuscript and received text.

Abstract:
Abstract By recounting how Lu Xun 鲁迅 went from studying medicine in Japan to writing for the magazine Xin qingnian 新青年 (New Youth), the preface to Nahan 呐喊 (Outcry, 1923), Lu Xun's first collection of short stories, not only presents an origin story of an important author but also contains important clues for understanding modern Chinese literature. This article offers a new reading of that canonical text by focusing on the problem of medium. Synthesizing author biography, media history, and textual analysis, it examines three intermedial references in the preface—the famous lantern slide, the modern periodical, and the recurring notion of outcry. As an autobiographical account, the preface contains narrated events that call for more media-centered analysis, including the “slide incident” (renamed “screen incident”) and Lu Xun's failed experiment with the periodical medium. Reading the preface as an act of narration, this article scrutinizes textual choices such as the confusing word dianying 电影 (film) and the outcry metaphor. The emergence of both modern vernacular literature and Lu Xun as a major literary figure, it is argued, should be historicized in a broader transnational media environment, in which diverse media practices intersected.

Abstract:
The transmission dynamics of Buruli ulcer (BU) largely depends on environmental changes. In this paper a deterministic model for the transmission of BU in fluctuating environments is proposed. The model incorporates periodicity in the disease transmission pathways and the Mycobacterium ulcerans density that are thought to vary seasonally. Two reproduction numbers, the time-averaged reproduction number [Formula: see text] and the basic reproduction number [Formula: see text], are determined and compared. It is shown that the time-averaged reproduction underestimates the number of infections. Numerical simulations confirmed that if [Formula: see text] the infection is sustained seasonally. The model outcome suggests that environmental fluctuations should be taken into consideration in designing policies aimed at BU control and management.

Abstract:
<p>This article investigates the relevance of the concept of copyright, which took its modern form in the last century, to the present conditions specific to music in the light of technological and cultural changes. Firstly, it provides a basic definition of copyright along with examples related to its implementation. Then, it dwells on production, distribution and consumption dimensions of music, addressing their differences between 20th and 21st centuries. The main cause of these differences is that there have been radical changes in technology and that reflections of these changes on cultural field have created a completely new paradigm. One of the characteristics of this new paradigm is that unprecedented creativity techniques and ideas are emerged in conjunction with the continuing intertwinement of the consumption and production dimensions of music. The article tries to express all these issues in relation to the need of alteration of the copyright concept, and discusses new alternatives to copyright, especially the most prominent one being Creative Commons. Pointing out the potential developments, it emphasizes the need of reformulation of the laws and regulations related to copyright.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Özet</strong></p><p>Bu makale, bugünkü biçimini geçtiğimiz yüzyılda almış olan telif hakları konseptinin müzik özelinde günümüz koşullarına uygunluğunu, teknolojik ve kültürel değişimler ışığında incelemeye çalışır.

Abstract:
6548 Background: High dose chemotherapy and SCT is an accepted treatment option for pts with relapsed lymphoid malignancies. However, relapse remains a significant problem. A double alkylating regimen of Bu and Mel has been suggested as an effective and myeloablative pre-transplant conditioning regimen. Historically, oral Bu was used and the combination resulted in considerable mucositis and VOD. An i.v. formulation of Bu has been developed that has less pharmacokinetic variability. We are investigating i.v. Bu-Mel in pts with lymphoid malignancies undergoing auto- or allo-SCT. Patients and Methods: The conditioning regimen consists of i.v. Bu 130 mg/m2 over 3 hr daily for 4 days, either as a fixed dose per BSA, or to target an average daily AUC of 5,000 μMol-min ± 12% determined by a test dose of i.v. Bu at 32 mg/m2 given 48 hours prior to the high dose regimen. After the 4 daily Bu doses, there is a rest day, followed by 2 daily doses of Mel at 70mg/m2. Stem cells are infused the following day. Dilantin is given for seizure prophylaxis. GVHD prophylaxis is tacrolimus and methotrexate for pts receiving allo-SCT. Results: Patient characteristics, engraftment, and regimen-related toxicities are listed below: Grade I or II mucositis was the most common regimen-related toxicity. There were no cases of VOD; reversible hyperbilirubinemia was observed in 3 pts receiving allo-SCT. No grade IV toxicity was noted, and there were no regimen-related deaths with longest follow-up of 10 months. All allo-SCT pts had 100% donor chimerism by day 30. 27 pts had i.v. Bu delivered per test dose guidance; 6 pts received fixed dose Bu at 130 mg/m2. The median daily systemic Bu exposure was 4867 μMol-min. Conclusion: Intravenous Bu-Mel is well tolerated, and enables prompt neutrophil and platelet engraftment. Individualized PK-directed dosing of i.v. Bu is feasible, and likely contributes to the low toxicity profile of this regimen. Longer time is needed to assess disease control. In this contribution, different porphyrin derivatives were experimentally synthesized and theoretically analyzed using several electronic structure methods to study the geometrical and electronic properties of A4, trans-A2B[Formula: see text]and A3B porphyrins bearing several functional groups (–OH, –COOH, -3,5-di-[Formula: see text]Bu, –OCH2CH2CH2COOEt and –OMe) suitable to be employed as dyes in Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC). A4 (R [Formula: see text] -H, -OMe, -OH, -3,5-di-tert-butyl, –OCH2CH2CH2COOEt) and A3B (R[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]R[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]R[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]–H; R[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]–OH and R[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]-3,5-di-[Formula: see text]Bu) porphyrins were synthesized and characterized by UV-vis and 1H NMR spectroscopies for comparison. The geometrical parameters were analyzed in the ground state and gas phase using the semiempirical method PM6 and the DFT functionals M06-2X and B3LYP, in combination with the 6-31G(d), DZVP and TZVP basis set. For calculations of the electronic and excited state properties, CAM-B3LYP, M06-2X and HSE06, using SMD as solvation model, were applied. This study revealed that HSE06/DZVP protocol is the best methodology to simulate electronic spectra in these porphyrin derivatives. Indeed, whereas substituent groups did not significantly affect the geometrical structure of the porphyrin derivatives studied, they do influence their electronic structures, mainly in the LUMO (lowest unoccupied molecular orbital) energy levels.

In this article the semantic field of the Armeno-Kipchak word arï/ari “holy, sacred” is examined on the basis of Töre Bitigi (Wrocław version), which is an Armeno-Kipchak version of the Old Armenian law code Datastanagirk’. This magistrative-juridical text was based in a large part on ecclesiastical prescriptions. Accordingly it is possible to see a group of religious terms in the text and the word of arï/ari is one of them. This significant term shows parallelism with other historical Turkic texts, which have been translated from the Holy Book. Abstract:
The radical chain decomposition of cyclopropylmethyl (1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)-diazene [Formula: see text] at 253–341 K in hexafluorobenzene or in dichloromethane solution containing bromotrichloromethane affords cyclopropylmethyl bromide, 4-bromo-1-butene, 1-bromo-5,5,5-trichloro-2-pentene, and 3,5-dibromo-1,1,1-trichloropentane from the cyclopropylmethyl portion of 1. Other major products are nitrogen, acetone, and chloroform. The rate constant for formation of cyclopropylmethyl bromide by attack of cyclopropylmethyl free radicals from 1 at bromine of BrCCl3[Formula: see text] was calculated from the product composition using the known rate constant for rearrangement of cyclopropylmethyl radicals to 3-buten-1-yl radicals. At 25 °C,[Formula: see text] and the temperature dependence is given by [Formula: see text], where θ = 2.3RT kcal/mol−1. Non-chain decomposition of (CH3)2C(OH)N=N—R (2, R = Bu, and 3, R = Ph) in the presence of excess 1,1,3,3-tetramethylisoindolin-2-yloxyl (4) and bromotrichloromethane afforded BuBr and PhBr, respectively, in yields determined by the relative concentrations of 4 and BrCCl3. Rate constants for coupling (kc) of Bu• and Ph• with 4 were assumed to be proportional to rate constants for diffusion controlled reactions, kd, which were estimated from measured viscosities. Values of [Formula: see text] and[Formula: see text], calculated from kc and product yields for reactions at 80 °C, are 0.26 × 109 and 1.55 × 109 M−1 s−1, respectively. The relative radical reactivities toward BrCCl3 at 80 °C are Ph, 6; cpm, 5; Bu, 1.

Abstract:
This thesis examines the Chinese painter Fang Xun (1736-1799) and the text he authored and published, the "Shanjingiu hualun". The first section approaches Fang Xun, a Zhejiang painter with close ties to Jiangnan literati circles, from a biographical perspective, placing him in the context of his times and milieu. An illustrated catalog of his work is included. Fang Xun is revealed as emblematic of the professional painter of the late 18th century literati ; likewise, although his painting belongs to a tradition considered Orthodox, its variety in terms of repertoire and style is characteristic of the period. The "Shanjingiu hualun", never before translated in an occidental language, is then presented unabridged and with commentary, based on the two known versions of the text. The comentary views the text in relation both to earlier texts known to Fang Xun, and to the work of his contemporaries. Other aspects of Fang Xun's opus are explored which reveal its value : the views of a professional appear alongside those of a theorician, which makes this a non-negligible document concerning both technical aspects of painting (particularly flower painting) and debates then current in the milieu of cultured professional painters. The "Shanjingju hualun" thus serves as an exceptional witness to the painterly theory and prctice of the period. In the third section, descriptions left by Fang Xun of some 30 paintings, of which some still exist and were described by eminent literari, give rise to in-depth reflection on the role of the description of painting in Chinese visual culture. The annexes present all documents (texts and illustrations) available to the author on the life and work (both text and visual) of Fang Xun

The purpose of this thesis is to study the content of Oracle Bone Script, constrained in Bu-Xun(卜旬),the record of the ancient psychic augury every half-decade, of Collection Bin(賓組). We carefully assorted all the pieces available by its ways of writing and its exterior forms in this range. Later, we present the connection between Zen-Ren(貞人) the ancient official psychics and Yen-Tzu(驗辭) of certain augury of Bu-Xun of Oracle Bone Scripts which note whether the prediction was found to be true or false. In chapter one we explain the research methods used and the context of the study. In the second chapter, text of Bu-Xun in the Oracle Bone Scripts assorted by its form and font will respond to predecessors’ assortments which have been a controversy between the researchers. In chapter three and four we further study the retained Yen-Tzu, the proven and disproven notes engraved on, of the text on Bu-Xun in Collection Bin, and then figuring out the correlation between the content of it and our assortment. In the fifth chapter, in the study of known psychics, we further discover a new chronological order by pointing out the relations between the specific font and the names of these official psychics The final chapter summarizes the four chapters above, and concluded the result of our research on Bu-xun Oracle Bone scripts in the large Collection Bin and explained how this study develop the field of research.

Abstract:
Chapter 1 approaches the literary manifesto as an exemplary form of literary modernity, which writers all over the world used in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries to declare bold new conceptions of literature and aesthetics. It focuses on texts by Percy Bysshe Shelley and Lu Xun, major writers whose critical sophistication and wide-ranging erudition have made their work sources of both literary influence and forces in ongoing legacies of cultural critique. While the chapter focuses on Shelley’s 1821 A Defence of Poetry and Lu Xun’s 1908 “On the Power of Mara Poetry” and “Toward a Refutation of Malevolent Voices,” it refers also more widely to other of these authors’ writings that sustain and extend the preoccupation with the emancipatory power of poetic voice found in the aforementioned literary manifestoes.

Abstract:
Abstract If the interference effect is not considered for well test interpretation, it could lead to wrong analyses especially in boundary identification. In addition, there are some case where interference effects might be hidden where it may not be obvious due to data uncertainty. Therefore, special diagnostics of the multi well interference models will be required to differentiate between the boundary and interference effects. In addition, there is no analytical method for a well in a multi-well reservoir with no flow boundary condition. In this paper a new method was developed to model Pressure Analysis of Well-Test Data from a Well in a Multi-well reservoir with no flow boundary condition. It covers; Derivation of the analytical model, based on the superposition principle, with and without "no flow" boundary condition; Modeling of various combination of testing & interfering well cases (i.e. testing well is on production or shut-in while interfering well is on production or shut-in) Modeling of various combinations of testing & interfering well rate cases (i.e. production or injection, rate variations) Modeling of various number of interfering well cases (i.e. location and well count) Investigation deeply on how to differentiate between the boundary and interference effects (or vice versa) and developing the special diagnostics to able to detect interference effect directly. Results are shown that 1) the multi-well interference effect with and without no flow boundary condition has huge impact on the well test interpretation and this effect might be interpreted as a boundary effect if interference is not considered. 2) Build-up (BU) behavior of testing well is depending on whether interfering well is shut-in or producing. If interfering well is producing, pressure derivative of BU curve is concave down and If the interfering wells are shutting in, pressure derivative of BU curve is concave up 3) the interfering well rate is affecting magnitude of impact on pressure derivative and the higher the rates, the bigger the response 4) the interfering well distance is affecting the timing of deviation on pressure derivative and the closer the distance, the quicker the response Study also concluded that there are 3 special characteristics, which only exists in interference cases, and which does not exist in boundary cases. Therefore, those characteristics can be used to differentiate between the interference and boundary effects. Those are 1) Pressure decrease or rise at the beginning of well testing 2) the drawn-down (DD) and BU pressure derivatives in Log-Log plot are different (i.e. when BU is concave up, DD is concave down or vice versa) in case of interfering well is on continuous production 3) The consecutive BU's (or DD's) pressure derivatives on Log-Log plot are different and changing over time

Abstract:
This experimental study measured the detailed Nusselt numbers (Nu) distributions over two opposite leading and trailing walls of a rotating rectangular channel fitted with diamond shaped pin-fin array with radially outward flow for gas turbine rotor blade cooling applications. The combined and isolated effects of Reynolds (Re), rotation (Ro) and buoyancy (Bu) numbers on local and area-averaged Nusselt numbers (Nu and Nu) were examined at the test conditions of 5000≤Re≤15000, 0≤Ro≤0.6 and 0.0007≤Bu≤0.31. The present infrared thermography method enables the generation of full-field Nu scans over the rotating endwalls at the realistic engine Ro conditions as the first attempt to reveal the combined rotating buoyancy and Coriolis force effects on heat transfer properties. The selected heat transfer results demonstrate the Coriolis and rotating-buoyancy effects on the heat transfer performances of this rotating channel. Acting by the combined Coriolis and rotating buoyancy effects on the area-averaged heat transfer properties, the rotating leading and trailing area-averaged Nusselt numbers are modified respectively to 0.82–1.52 and 1–1.89 times of the static channel references. A set of physically consistent empirical Nu correlations was generated to permit the assessments of individual and interdependent Re, Ro and Bu effects on the area-averaged heat transfer properties over leading and trailing endwalls.

Abstract:

Abstract:
An experimental study of heat transfer in a radially rotating trapezoidal duct with two opposite walls roughened by 45° staggered ribs and mid-rib bleeds from the apical side wall is performed. Centerline heat transfer variations on two rib-roughened surfaces are measured for radially outward flows with and without bleeds at test conditions of Reynolds number (Re), rotation number (Ro) and density ratio (Δρ/ρ) in the ranges of 15000–30000, 0–0.8 and 0.04–0.31, respectively. Geometrical configurations and rotation numbers tested have considerably extended the previous experiences that offer practical applications to the trail edge cooling of a gas turbine rotor blade. A selection of experimental data illustrates the individual and interactive influences of Re, Ro and buoyancy number (Bu) on local heat transfer with and without bleeds. Local heat transfer results are generated with the influences of sidewall bleeds examined to establish heat transfer correlations with Re, Ro and Bu as the controlling flow parameters for design applications.

Abstract:
This experimental study examines the pressure drop coefficients (f) and the detailed Nusselt numbers (Nu) distributions over two opposite leading and trailing walls roughened by 45° ribs for a rotating parallelogram channel with radially outward flow. For the first time the isolated effects of Reynolds (Re), rotation (Ro) and buoyancy (Bu) numbers on local and area averaged Nusselt numbers (Nu and Nu) measured from the infrared thermography method were successfully examined at the parametric conditions of 5000≤Re≤15000, 0≤Ro≤0.3 and 0.001≤Bu≤0.23 for the single-pass parallelogram channel. A set of selected heat transfer data illustrates the Coriolis and rotating-buoyancy effects on the detailed Nu distributions and the area-averaged heat transfer performances of the rotating parallelogram channel. With the consideration of the f data generated at the isothermal conditions, the thermal performance factors (η) for this radially rotating channel were evaluated. The Nusselt numbers obtained from the leading and trailing walls of the rotating test channel fall in the respective ranges of 0.78–1.34 and 1.09–1.38 times of the stationary levels; while the η factors are in the range of 0.979–1.575 for the present test conditions.

Abstract:
An experimental study was performed on heat transfer characteristics of supercritical pressure CO2 (SC-CO2) flowing at medium mass flux conditions in a vertically-upward tube of 16 mm inner diameter at the Heat Transfer and Flow test loop of Supercritical CO2 (HTF-SCO2) in Xi’an Jiaotong University. Experimental parameters included the pressure ranging from 7.5 to 10.5 MPa, the mass flux of 400–600 kg/m2s, and the heat flux of 20–100 kW/m2. Based on the experimental data, effects of mass flux, heat flux and operation pressure on heat transfer characteristics of SC-CO2 were thoroughly discussed. With the decrease of mass flux and increase of heat flux, heat transfer characteristics of SC-CO2 becomes worse and worse. The wall temperature rises to high levels with the occurrence of a wall temperature peak and the wall temperature peak also rises remarkably with the decrease in mass flux and increase in heat flux. Especially, effect of pressures on the heat transfer of SC-CO2 was found to be quite different from that previously reported in literature. When the heat flux is low (such as 30 kW/m2), the HTD was diminished with the increase in pressures, but when the heat flux is up to 50 kW/m2, the HTD is surprisingly intensified by the increase of pressure. The buoyancy effect was considered to explain this distinct influence of pressure on the heat transfer of SC-CO2 by employed a non-dimensional parameter Bu. With the increase of pressure, buoyancy effect was diminished owing to the decrease of density difference between fluids near the wall and the center. When heat flux was lower, the Bu was located between 5×10−6 and 10−4, where buoyancy effect impaired heat transfer, so the heat transfer coefficient increased by rising pressure. But when heat flux was larger, the Bu was above 10−4, where buoyancy effect began to enhance heat transfer, as a result, the heat transfer coefficient was reduced by weakened buoyancy effect because of the increase of pressure. Abstract:
An experimental study was performed to measure the detailed heat transfer distributions, Fanning friction factors (f) and thermal performance factors (TPF) of a radially rotating twin-pass parallelogram channel. Laboratory scale full field Nusselt number (Nu) distributions over Leading Endwall (Leading-E) and Trailing Endwall (Trailing-E) of the rotating channel are measured at the test conditions of 5000 < Re < 20000, 0 < Ro < 0.3 and 0.028 < Δρ/ρ < 0.12. A selection of Nu data illustrates the individual and interactive impacts of Re, Ro and buoyancy (Bu) numbers on local and area-averaged heat transfer properties. Without the additional flow complexities induced by the turbulators, the degrees of Bu impacts are significantly amplified from those developed in an enhanced rotating ribbed channel. Relative to the similar rotating square twin-pass channel, the heat transfer recovery over the stable wall proceeds at the lower Ro for present rotating parallelogram channel. Accompanying with the improved heat transfer performances from the square-channel counterparts, the f values are raised. With a set of f correlations generated using the f data collected from the Leading Sidewall (Leading-S) and Trailing Sidewall (Trailing-S) at isothermal conditions; the TPF values at various rotating conditions were evaluated. The heat transfer correlations that determine the area-averaged Nusselt numbers over the inlet and outlet legs and over the turning region are generated. The area-averaged Nu, f factors and TPF determined from the present rotating parallelogram channel are compared with those reported for the rotating twin-pass channels to determine the comparatively thermal performances of the parallelogram rotating channel for turbine rotor blade cooling.

Abstract:
Underfill is one of the crucial materials in flip chip (FC) packages. The role of underfill is not only to protect the solder bumps but to minimize package warpage, and to protect the fragile low k dielectric at end of line (EOL), moisture resistance test (MRT), and temperature cycle B (TCB) conditions. As packages move towards green products, the complexity of selecting a good underfill increases. The interaction of high Pb or eutectic solder with the underfill is different than that of Pb free solder. Moreover Pb free solder behavior for FC bumps is just being explored in the literature. Besides Pb free solder, other parameters like die passivation, bump height and pitch, under bump metallurgy (UBM) metallization, and package substrate are also extremely important for underfill selection. As the design of the package continues to change smaller package, tighter bump pitch and thinner core and build up (BU) layers, all of these parameters are directly related to package reliability. Sometimes an underfill good for a smaller die, body size, taller bump height, and pitch doesn’t necessarily mean it will be appropriate for a bigger die with larger body, and tighter bumps. So there are lots of variables in the package that directly affect the reliability. A good underfill should have very good adhesion between underfill and die passivation at room temperature, and moderate adhesion at underfill Tg. Adhesion properties are solely depend on chemistry of the underfill. Therefore to determine a good underfill for a bigger die and body size, we need to have a sequential selection methodology. In this paper a sequential selection methodology is used to eliminate the unsuccessful underfill candidates and select the best one which comfortably satisfies the requirements for all different solder alloys, and a wider range of package geometries. Important selection criteria including underfill workability issues and modeling data are also discussed.
