Every year, there is one Sunday to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. This means that every year, priests have the opportunity to give a homily or sermon in order to explain for their flock the meaning of the Triune God. With a 10-minute time limit for homilies set by Pope Francis, it is important for preachers to find a balance between simple delivery and rich theological reflection. How to do it? This research analyzes Pope Francis' sermons and homilies on the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, over a period of 10 years (2013-2023), to understand how the Pope offers a theological

The human experience is a tapestry woven from a multitude of threads. Our personalities, those unique blends of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, form a central part of this rich fabric. In India's ancient wisdom traditions, the Triguna system offers a fascinating perspective on understanding these very personalities. Triguna, literally meaning "three qualities," refers to Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas – three fundamental principles that govern our inner world. Sattva embodies purity, clarity, and serenity. Rajas represents passion, activity, and ambition. Tamas, on the other hand, is associ

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic profoundly affected neurosurgical practices globally, prompting the introduction of emergency health protocols to safeguard patients and healthcare personnel. While these measures were essential for controlling virus spread, they were resulted in challenges like surgical delays, resource shortages, and heightened stress for medical staff. This study aims to evaluate the impact of these protocols on neurosurgical care, identify the challenges posed, and suggest strategies to enhance patient safety and healthcare resilience in future outbreaksSubject and Metho

Abstract Background Numerous tools exist to screen for frailty in clinical settings but a single international standard has not yet been adopted. Recent research indicates that more than one tool is often deployed by clinicians to diagnose frailty. This study aimed to compare the use of two screening tools in the emergency department and assess the predictive ability of keywords in triage notes to detect frailty. Methods Frailty screening was carried out on 198 individuals (100 female / 98 male) attending the emergency department of a large urban teaching hospital, using the Rockwood Clinical

AbstractThe detection of fast (< 1 second) transient signals requires a challenging balance between the need to examine vast quantities of high time-resolution data and the impracticality of storing all the data for later analysis. This is the epitome of a “big data” issue—far more data will be produced by next generation-astronomy facilities than can be analyzed, distributed, or archived using traditional methods. JPL is developing technologies to deal with “big data” problems from initial data generation through real-time data triage algorithms to large-scale data archiving and mining. Al

Artificial intelligence (AI) systems are already being used in various healthcare areas. Similarly, they can offer many advantages in hospital emergency services. The objective of this work is to demonstrate that through the novel use of AI, a trained system can be developed to detect patients at potential risk of infection in a new pandemic more quickly than standardized triage systems. This identification would occur in the emergency department, thus allowing for the early implementation of organizational preventive measures to block the chain of transmission. Abstract Introduction/Objective Both point of care (POC) antigen-based assays and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) laboratory-based assays exist for diagnosis of COVID-19. COVID-19 RT-PCR tests are the gold standard based on their higher sensitivity. However, in this era of inflation and supply chain disruptions, the use of only RT-PCR tests would be more expensive and may be vulnerable to reagent supply chain shortages. Triage of resources of both test types is important in ensuring access and equity in testing distribution as well as ensuring economical RT-PCR testing
