Ultrasonic surface rolling process (USRP) combined with deep cryogenic treatment (USRP+DCT) was applied on quenched and tempered Cr12MoV. The results indicated that USRP and USRP+DCT could significantly improve the surface mechanical properties, leading to smaller surface roughness and smoother morphology with less cracks and defects. Test of microhardness showed that the hardness increase of USRP and USRP+DCT were 16.4% and 23.6%, respectively. In addition, the wear resistance was improved by USRP and USRP+DCT. Compared with USRP, USRP+DCT can further improve the surface mechanical properties

Ultrasonic surface rolling process (USRP) is a novel surface severe plastic deformation (SPD) method that integrates ultrasonic impact peening (UIP) and deep rolling (DR) to enhance the surface integrity and surface mechanical properties of engineering materials. USRP can induce gradient nanostructured surface (GNS) layers on the substrate, providing superior mechanical properties, thus preventing premature material failure. Herein, a comprehensive overview of current-state-of-the art USRP is provided. More specifically, the effect of the USRP on a broad range of materials exclusively used for

The effects of an ultrasonic surface rolling process (USRP) on the localized corrosion behavior of 7B50-T7751 aluminum alloy in a sodium chloride + hydrogen peroxide solution were investigated through microstructural observation, immersion testing, and electrochemical measurements. The results revealed that this alloy is prone to pitting. However, the localized corrosion resistance can be significantly improved via both one-pass USRP and 12-pass USRP treatment. Furthermore, in the test solution, the thickness and the acceptor density of the passivation film were affected by the USRP treatment.

Abstract:
The University of Washington Applied Physics Lab team collected these data using microSWIFT wave buoys at the USACE Field Research Facility as part of the USCRP funded project DUNEX (During Nearshore Events Experiment). The files contain both directly measured and computed quantities from the drifting wave buoys. The collection and processing of these data is explained in the github repository at https://github.com/SASlabgroup/DUNEXMainExp along with examples of how these data can be used. The link to the actual data files is https://chldata.erdc.dren.mil/thredds/catalog/frf/projects/Dunex/UW_
