Abstract:
The present configuration of worldwide economy raise many questions. Would regionalism not lead to question an organization of the world based on an hegemonic power ? throughout the 1980s, japan has risen a great prominence in economic and financial world whereas united-states lost power. So, the yen appears as a potential candidate to the role of international money. Byt, even if japan leads to get the profile of an international money issuing country, as far as its economic performances, the structure of its balance of payments and the gradual agreement of the national monetary authorities are concerned, the international role of the yen remains weak and japan can't be considered as a world banker country according to the specificity and the fragility of its international financial intermediation. Nevertheless, since we consider the emergence of a multi-currency system, it becomes possible to find a place for the yen in the ims and for japan to participate in the management of the international order in a shared leadership system

Abstract:
The internationalization of currency appears determined by a subtle balance between changes in external value and transaction costs. Both elements have supported a recent increase in the international use of the yen. On the one hand, the wealth transfer to the Japanese economy owing to decreasing oil prices as well as substantial current account imbalances of the united states have sharply modified perceived exchange risk on the yen. At the same time, growing contradiction between the international currency role and the national currency role of the dollar has deeply questioned its ability to assume the function of international store of value. Thus, the internationalization of the yen indicates the desire of the Japanese private sector to avoid further decreases of its financial terms of trade owing to dollar depreciation. This appears most clearly through the sharp increase in net capital exports denominated in yen. On the other hand, decreasing transcation costson yen denominated assets have been a major permissive factor of its internationalization. The liberalization of capital controls has ensured wider financial choices and speedier adjustments of assets and liabilities stocks. At the same time, progress in domestic financial reform has led to lower transaction costs as commissions decreased and the number of available risk-return combinations increased. The liberalization of short term interest rates equally contributed to higher levels of external use of the yen. Thus, the internationalization of the yen combines a crisis of the present international money, a dominant role of the Japanese private sector in world finance as well as decreasing costs of access to the yen. Results are supported are supported by extensive econometric results and detailed Japanese references. Appendixes on the external use of the yen, on the timing of capital controls on returns of external assets and liabilities of the Japanese economy as well as on the Tokyo government bond futures market represent data readily available for further research

Full text
Abstract:
Application of DPSIR framework (Drivers, Pressures, States, Impacts and Responses) aims to assess the current impact of the environment through a process starting with “driving forces” through “pressures” to “states” and “impacts” eventually leading to political “responses” in mineral mining in Luc Yen district. Research results show that the main drivers in Luc Yen are resources consumption (Wi = 3.675), the demand for industrial development (Wi = 3.575), followed by diversification and size of mines (Wi = 3.250). The environmental pressures are solid (Wi = 4.025), dust (Wi = 3.900) and wastewater (Wi = 3.625). The current state of environment is the most affected by air (Wi = 3.400). The soil and water are almost unaffected. The current environmental impacts have positive and negative social, economic and environmental impacts. Specifically, the positive impacts are employment opportunities, income (Wi = 3.325) and an increase in state budget (Wi =3.000). There are no positive improvements of the environment related to mining activities, such as negative impacts on ecological landscape (Wi = 3.050) and infrastructure (Wi = 3.075). Improving environmental quality and mitigating environmental impacts have been applied, including innovative technology (Wi = 3.175), pollution monitoring and environmental quality monitoring (Wi = 3.400). Communication activities to enhance community participation in Luc Yen area were also highly appreciated by people (Wi = 3.375).
Chen, Yen-Lin. "Cross-layer design and optimization for wireless networked control systems." Thesis, Queensland University of Technology, 2012. https://eprints.qut.edu.au/61089/1/Yen-Lin_Chen_Thesis.pdf.

Full text
Abstract:
Wireless networked control systems (WNCSs) have been widely used in the areas of manufacturing and industrial processing over the last few years. They provide real-time control with a unique characteristic: periodic traffic. These systems have a time-critical requirement. Due to current wireless mechanisms, the WNCS performance suffers from long time-varying delays, packet dropout, and inefficient channel utilization. Current wirelessly networked applications like WNCSs are designed upon the layered architecture basis. The features of this layered architecture constrain the performance of these demanding applications. Numerous efforts have attempted to use cross-layer design (CLD) approaches to improve the performance of various networked applications. However, the existing research rarely considers large-scale networks and congestion network conditions in WNCSs. In addition, there is a lack of discussions on how to apply CLD approaches in WNCSs. This thesis proposes a cross-layer design methodology to address the issues of periodic traffic timeliness, as well as to promote the efficiency of channel utilization in WNCSs. The design of the proposed CLD is highlighted by the measurement of the underlying network condition, the classification of the network state, and the adjustment of sampling period between sensors and controllers. This period adjustment is able to maintain the minimally allowable sampling period, and also maximize the control performance. Extensive simulations are conducted using the network simulator NS-2 to evaluate the performance of the proposed CLD. The comparative studies involve two aspects of communications, with and without using the proposed CLD, respectively. The results show that the proposed CLD is capable of fulfilling the timeliness requirement under congested network conditions, and is also able to improve the channel utilization efficiency and the proportion of effective data in WNCSs.

Abstract:
99
To be a rich man who owns success and fame is the dream of many people for their whole life. But, in the process of pursuing, have you ever stopped to calm down, and ask yourself what you are looking for ? This dissertation aims to discuss the understanding of human versatility and the process of finding myself by the research on my work. In Chinese, “To be a hau-yen-ren”means “To be a rich man”. But, in this dissertation, I consider “ a hau-yen-ren”as“a good primitive man”, and make “yen-ren”be on behalf of “essence of men”. So, the original meaning of “To be a hau-yen-ren”has been changed, it is not to announce to be a rich man anymore, but to declare my determination to discover the inner essence. I hope I can sincerely face the inner world by the creation and introspection, and find the goodness fit with my own value. I also hope it can be a slogan to appeal the ones who have taken a look at my work to touch their heart honestly and look for the “hau-yen-ren”deep in their mind. The structure of the dissertation is as following: In the introduction, I state the motive, purpose and ways of my creation. In chapter I, I analyze the documents. And I discuss the versatility of humanism form anthropology which is started from researching the apes, analytical psychology of Jung, and sociology. In Chapter II and III, I analyze my work form 2003 to the period of creating 《hau-yen-ren》 serial on my own view. I turn back to the unconscious by the way of analyzing the text and the background of creation, and realize the evolution of thought in my own values and creating. In chapter IV, I expand the view from text to author in order to find out the evolution of the art vocabulary in 《hau-yen-ren》serial and humorous attitude. At the end, I reorganize the inspiration in my life and work from the research in the conclusion.

It is made through the creation of etcher and then uses the work to present the results of the study. People are searching for themselves, and they are searching for themselves in the art world through stories, life, fantasy, and experience. As an indigenous people have the solitary color of the mountains, he or she may feel surrounded by the solitude in coming to the city. As we talk to and share with others, this suggests that there are many selves in the heart, which begins with the dialogue that I intend to suggest. Thinking is the thinking path produced by the continuous creation. The research motiv of the study intends to suggest a thinking towards the thinking of the art of the self. In the process of the study, we can see the tolerance of the epoch toward the art of the self. The framework and purpose of the research demonstrates the results obtained through the continuous creation. Chapter Two examines the relevant theory and practice of arts through the abstract painting and Jean Dubuffet; examines the abstract linkage with paintings, Willem de Kooning, and works. It is made through continuous creation that researches the works of the self, and it reflects a kind of art linkage of the return. It is, too, a yelling of “Who I am” in the art world. Chapter Three studies the context and the idea in order to speak through the work. From the thinking and accumulation of the study of the work to the color representation of the research work, the study extends a self-interpretation of the work. Chapter Four studies the analysis and interpretation of the works, which are the learning spirit of the creator’s practice. Chapter Five examines the analysis of the works, which serves as the answer of the continuous creation. From the dialogue and thinking of the research creation, the researchers are continuously in the search of the answer of creation. The end of the study is to discover the self of this moment, that is, the existence in the field of arts. This is what the researcher repeatedly intends to study and prove.
99
Research on Yen Kun-yang’s Knowledgeable Prose Chang Yu-teng Abstract Among numerous modern prose writers, Yen Kun-yang is attributed to a scholar writer who is not only capable to produce good works but also well learned of the old as well as the present. His works range from classic poetry to modern proses to novel creation, of which the proses are most knowledgeably and affectionately appealing, closely connected with their background in time. This essay focuses its theme of research on “Yen’s knowledgeable prose”, discussing the literary achievements of contemporary master Yen Kun-yang and analyzing the theme contents and artistic performances of his knowledgeable prose works to have a glimpse of the scenarios of the world of his proses and thus make known his value and contributions in Taiwan’s literature. The fourth chapter “the artistic performances of knowledgeable prose” disintegrates the artistic beauty of Yen’s knowledgeable prose from the dimension of literary diverse performances and the prose styles. The fifth chapter “conclusion” summarizes analyses and discussions of previous chapters in order to categorize inductively and systematically the traits of Yen’s knowledgable prose in this chapter so that they may be properly assessed and positioned. It also indicates their meaning and characteristic in Taiwan’s modern prose development and the direction of the style for research in the future. He wrote many books, which aimed to cleanse the human psyche. Moreover, his practice and vow could be seen as a spiritual lesson for people. By the way literature review and historical investigation, I analyzed relevant bibliographies and focused on the theme of spiritual cleansing and the vision of turning this world into a pure land. This paper’s started from the spiritual aspect of education, human nature, morality to analyze and interpret the logic and foundation of Sheng Yen’s theories of education. In addition,I explored the metaphysical dimension with the help of mind maps to construct the essence, values, and goals of Master Sheng Yen’s educational thought.I found that “wisdom as the substance, expedience as the character, and compassion as the use” demonstrate the educational thought of Master Sheng Yen,and”using Buddhist teachings to improve oneself and to help others”become his teaching principle.Educators could grasp the essence and principles of Master Sheng Yen’s educational thought and apply them into the education.

101
Abstract The main idea of this discourse is focused on "self". It is by using one's portfolio to discuss that person's creative forms of painting. We will also discuss the related possibilities between self-creation and daily living. It is author's explanation and deliberation for art during 2010 and 2012. It is also author's creating process, and portfolio discussion. He is trying to practice self-creating by using related theories and cogitation researching. To the author, painting is way for expressing emotions, responding daily life, and showing genuineness. It will make one's creating purpose refer to one's psychological exploration, it will also make that person try to convert anxieties into the source for creation by using repetitive (or mechanical) pressure releasing methods on canvases. The author is not only trying to use impulses from oneself but also analyzing aesthetics from a psychological perspective as the creating resources . He sees repetitive self-creating process as a cure and dependence for psyche. To him, painting is not an experience for producing outcome because he is more emphasized on process. This discourse is about self-analyzing by using backtracking, perceiving, and viewing, it also used a way of aesthetic introspecting to arrange portfolio content. Trying to promote art can be possible and relative to daily life if we use continuous self-asking or self-exploring methods to convert personal behavior into a more creative performance. Exploring some social phenomena will be future goal for author. Key words: Daily living, Repetition, Mechanization, Psychotherapy.

Xingshan-Shi and 釋性禪. "The Chan Teaching Concepts of Master Sheng Yen—— Based Mainly on the Method of Guan Yin." Thesis, 2014. http://ndltd.ncl.edu.tw/handle/sctnv8.

Abstract:
102
The motivation of study of this dissertation is to investigate the Chan teaching of Master Sheng Yen, which is based on wonderful wisdom and wonderful applications of the method of Guan Yin to link to the system of the teaching of Chan practice. Using protection of the spiritual environment as the core, Master Sheng Yen advanced the practice of purification of our thoughts, and when the mind is purified the world is purified. He also developed the idea of “to uplift the quality of mankind, to build a pure land on earth” of Dharma Drum Mountain organization. The life of Master Sheng Yen corresponds to the spirit of the great compassion of Guan Yin and its causes and conditions. He taught everyone starting from prostrating to Guan Yin, seeking after Guan Yin, and learning from Guan Yin, to behaving like Guan Yin. His vows are like those of Guan Yin Bodhisattva who sees sentient beings through compassionate eyes, and whose great compassionate vow is to save the world, to offer with equality, and to use compassion and wisdom together. Master Sheng Yen’s main method of practice is Guan Yin method, and it is interlinked with the teaching system of Chan practice. Master Sheng Yen’s method of teaching of Chan practice is: After one reaches unification of body and mind, one uses contemplation, returning, purification, Silent Illumination and Hua Tou methods to sever attachment to self-centeredness, Dharmas, ignorance, and habitual tendencies. This accomplishes the unity of samadhi and wisdom of Guan Yin. The Chan School talks about sudden enlightenment, revealing wisdom and the practice of naturally using the idea of “without abiding the mind manifests”. Wonderful applications of these concepts are: “using the mind to turn the environment” and “when the mind is purified the world is purified”. In order to respond to the needs of modern society and to accomplish the missions of the field of practice of Guan Yin, he advocated the movements of “The Four Environmental Protections”; “The Fivefold Spiritual Renaissance Campaign;” “The Six Ethics of The Mind;” and “The Great Good Year.” The idea is “to uplift the quality of mankind, to build a pure land on earth”. Together we hope all will work hard toward that goal.

Abstract:
91
Summary of Thesis Key words: Shui-Long Yen, history of fine arts in Taiwan, history of handicraft in Taiwan, history of design in Taiwan, painting of aboriginals, mosaic Mr. Shui-Long Yen was an artist who had experienced both the time of Japanese occupation and the rule by the government of the Republic of China. His life was very colorful because his art not only presents a single art but also is a combination of a variety of cross-realm arts. In the history of fine arts in Taiwan, Mr. Shui-Long Yen is a special case. Regarding his spirit of art, he had directly inherited the concept since renaissance that an artist has to be “a person of all talents,” which however can only be understood by a few. In the history of art, there is scarcely an artist like Mr. Yen, who is talented in so many fields including painting, handicraft, design, archeology, public art and teaching of art. Just like Leonardo da Vinci, his charisma is too profound to be felt. In exploring his art, we may say that Mr. Yen is a painter full of native colors of Taiwan, which are especially shown in his paintings of aboriginals in Taiwan and the intense sunlight in Southern Taiwan. He may also be described as the pioneer of the advertisement and design in Taiwan. He had promoted handicraft and attached importance to the art with useful functions. He had sought for the ways of living for the persons engaged in handicraft at that time. He made mosaic fresco and is the first person of public art in Taiwan. In order to promote education in handicraft, he had taught not only university students but also illiterates, just like Confucius, who taught students according to their ability. He is not a man of letters, but he still has literary works about handicraft, architectural survey and aboriginals. He had participated in archeological activities at Fort Providentia in Tainan as early as the time of Japanese occupation. His activities of art were broad and essential. He is not only a multi-faceted artist but also a reformer of social thoughts. This thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter, the preface, mainly describes the nature, subject, motivation and purpose of the research, sources of data, and the methods of research; the second chapter introduces Mr. Yen’s whole life and the background at his time; the third chapter illuminates Mr. Yen’s relations with the movement of fine arts in Taiwan; the fourth chapter analyzes the style of Mr. Yen’s painting; the fifth chapter probes Mr. Yen and mosaic fresco; the sixth chapter lists Mr. Yen’s contributions to the handicraft, fine arts and design in Taiwan; and the seventh chapter is the conclusion. The results of research are as follows: (1) A complete presentation of Mr. Shui-Long Yen’s background of life. (2) The periods of and analysis on the style of Mr. Yen’s works. (3) The realization of concept of the “all-talented” artist since renaissance. (4) The determination of the value of handicraft fine arts and pure fine arts. (5) The position Mr. Yen should have in the history of art in Taiwan.

104
Addition to Space is my pseudonym -- imprisoning myself in an inner, closed space. On another level, I regard space as an unit container -- a metaphor which takes human body as a container. With space as the medium for observation, it contains many stories. My composition features constant return to my memory and house; therefore, this paper attempts to recall my memory of childhood to analyze my psychological state and my mind. Suffering from the Tourette syndrome since a young age, I couldn’t help showing some repeated movement or sound caused by the congenital bodily neural disorder. This often attracted the attention and doubt from the people around me, which was a heavy blow to me. From Chapter 1 to Chapter 3, emphasis is placed on the author’s experience and feeling at home in childhood; Chapter 4 Search for “Art” focuses on the pattern of my composition and relevant history of Western fine arts; in Chapter 5 Freedom of Composition, the author categorizes the works into three themes, namely, “White Paper-like Entry: Cross-regional Interpretation”, “Black and White Lines: Linear Narration” and “Colors: Dimension of Emotion”. Like an anthology, these works correspond to my artistic communication in daily life. For a long time, my creations have been focused on recording a number of ongoing and disappearing memories and traces in our lives. For us, traces can represent the actual existence of a previous event, or memories in our mind which are sometimes clear and other times obscure. Over the years, my creations have primarily used low-cost everyday materials such as charcoal, cardboard, canvas, plastic bags, etc., and further exposed the naked spatial text of human desires in a new form by using these materials to conduct visual reconstruction of the abstract mass in a new spatial structure through a sprawling and covering drawing technique. Out of the various contours of my creations, the three elements: people, space, and materials are direction guides of people’s sensory memory, and images of spaces are presented in a way resembling the feature of time packets. A juxtaposition of conflicts between residue and disappearance as well as sense and sensibility in the interwoven time and space also constructs an imaginary experience in human beings’ everyday turbulent memory.

Full text
Abstract:
101
Research on The Narratives Art of San Yen Student: Chang Pei Lin Advisor: Dr. Ke Jinhu ABSTRACT In this thesis, "San Yen" as a case study. The success of "San Yen" is partly due to the infusing of the vivid narrating style of folklore literature into the genteel classical Chinese writing. This combination of vernacular narrating and formal literal writing opens a great space for our deep research into its diversified techniques of story telling. This thesis mainly focuses its attention on the the study of narrating methods in "San Yen", which include the significant arrangements of characters, episodes , plots and time sequence as well as varied narration of the story from different points of view. The narrator often tells his story with the pace of normal time, while sometimes on the basis of time discrepancy, inserts flash-forward and flashback into the narration to make the story more affecting and impressive. The author is also good at controlling the story plots. When an episode is reaching a climax , the author would make the pace slow down to intensify the highest tension. And for a trivial episode, the author would briskly hurry the readers to next page. The different narrative paces make the whole story progress more fluently and more clearly. While the general rule is for novels to adopt a single approach to point of view throughout, "San Yen" is an exception. The stories in "San Yen" alternate between the first and third person. In this case, the author wouldl move back and forth between a more omniscient third-person narrator to a more personal first-person narrator. The omniscient third-person narrator steers the reader to walk safely through the mazes of compilcate events. On the other hand, the more personal first-person narrator invites the readers to set off an exciting adventure with the author together. The creation of various characters in "San Yen" is also a great accomplishment.By explicitly depicting various kinds of costume ,actions and facial expressions, the authors makes the inner emotion of his characters come out easily and naturally. "San Yen" deserves its uppermost celebrity and attention not only by the moral teaching in the story but also by its outstanding writing skills that make the story readable and agreeable. Compared with Feng Menglong’s peers, "San Yen" is unique and worthy of our vigilantly exploration , especially on its fascinatng narrating talents.
