Abstract:
Yakuts in religious beliefs and heroic epics (olonkho) retain the idea of the highest deities of the cult of ayyy, who act in the image and role of positive heroes together with the heroes of the middle world. The main antagonists are evil spirits (abaaahs) and restless souls (uor). They are also an integral part of Yakut traditionalism. The article presents the traditional classification of antagonistic images in religion and the heroic epic as the main components in the representation of the Yakuts (based on the materials of researchers of the XVIII–XX centuries).
