Abstract:
The importance of local media is indisputable for media theorists and media practitioners, despite the widespread globalization. Although electronic media has the largest audience, while online media is constantly expanding, the traditional print media is still surviving and they influence the political and social life of local communities. “Narodne novine” [English: The People’s Newspaper] are a daily news and political newspaper with the longest publication time in south-eastern Serbia. By using the quantitative and qualitative content analysis, as well as the comparative and synthetic research method, the authors investigate how this newspaper has transformed in relation to genre, and in thematic and visual terms during the two socially and historically different periods - in the socialist and transitional period. The research corpus consists of 63 articles from two editions of “Narodne novine” – the newspapers published on May 1st 1949 (28 articles) and 70 years later, on May 1st 2019 (35 articles).

Abstract:
The present study describes some of the meanings death holds for contemporary individuals. Twenty-six well-educated participants were given the Knapp metaphor inventory and asked to discuss the metaphors they chose as most closely reflecting their views of death. The results of a hermeneutic analysis of these discussions yielded three independent themes: death viewed negatively as a barrier to life's meanings, death viewed ambivalently as an essentially negative condition made acceptable by a variety of mitigating factors, and death viewed positively as a reinstatement or transformation of life's meanings. A correlational analysis comparing results produced by Knapp's original participants with those of the present group revealed significant stability in metaphoric choices over a thirty-year period. A further analysis evaluating the influence of religiosity on the meanings of death revealed that participants from church groups viewed death significantly more frequently as a transformation of life's meanings than did non-church participants who viewed it significantly more frequently as a barrier to life's meanings.

Abstract:
Abstract The article deals with the transformation of an experimental ontology, classifying selected declarative knowledge for the domain of thematic cartography, into classes and interfaces of the Java language. The reason for this transformation is to transfer the declarative knowledge from the field of thematic cartography into the form of a program code in the Java programming language. The resulting program code containing declarations of interfaces and classes will be further used for creating a software application for an intelligent system for the interactive support of thematic map creation. The upcoming pilot project of this knowledge system is designed for the users without necessary cartographic knowledge, which will allow them to create interactively thematic maps and provide them with the support. The purpose of the use of such a tool is to prevent the users from deviating from established cartographic rules and avoid the occurrence of gross errors in resulting maps. A properly compiled knowledge ontology facilitates the design of the prepared intelligent cartographic application, as the use of cartographic knowledge is enabled based on the automated transformation into the program code in the Java language. The generated program code contains declarations of basic concepts of thematic cartography, their structuring into classes corresponding to the source structures described in the ontology. The code also contains descriptions vertical and horizontal relations between the declared classes and also the interface for access to these classes and relations. The automated transformation of ontology into the Java code is not completely lossless. The examples of a transformation of individual components of ontology (classes, individuals, and object and datatype properties) into interfaces and classes in Java show the differences occurred during the transfer of the declarative knowledge into the program code. From these examples it is clear that the elements of ontology component description are or are not transformed into the Java code in full. The article proposes recommendations how to optimize the knowledge description on the part of ontology in order to minimize possible losses of the transformation of knowledge into the Java code

Abstract:
The paper researches the landscape transformation of the surface mines of the Đurđevik coal basin (northeastern Bosnia region), where 35.24 Mt of brown coal were produced in the past 74 years, and 227.40 Mm3 of overburden was excavated and disposed of. This type of coal exploitation caused the formation concave and convex of anthropogenic relief forms which ultimately led to significant landscape transformation. These transformations were identified and geovisualized on the basis of field research and comparative GIS analysis of archival maps, satellite images, Digital Elevation Models and plans of this area. As a result of the research, especially comparative GIS analysis of two prepared terrain models of surface mines, the transformation of hypsometry, slope and aspect, hydrographic network, pedological as well as vegetation cover were determined. Obtained geospatial data are geo-visualized in QGIS, and as a result, thematic maps were created to provide insight into the essence of transformations. Therefore, established indicators of landscape transformation can serve as a significant factor in planning the revitalization and land re-cultivation of devastated areas in the Đurđevik coal basin.

Abstract:

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a common psychological effect of military combat. However, little empirical research has been done to highlight specific complications and needs in treating this population, and even less has been done using the psychedelic drug MDMA. This study used the qualitative research method of thematic analysis to explore the lived experiences of combat veterans engaged in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD. This study reviewed video, as well as narrative data from MDMA psychotherapy sessions. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the transcribed audio data. The specific primary aim of the present study was to investigate the following research question: What is the lived experience of combat veterans in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy sessions, and how can this experience be understood through a psychotherapeutic perspective on well-being? Exploration of psychoanalytic and transpersonal aspects of the psychotherapy process are highlighted in their facilitation of healing in combat veterans.

Gray, Laura Jean. "Thematic transformation and motivic unity in the Symphony No. 4 in F Minor by Ralph Vaughan Williams." Thesis, University of British Columbia, 1989. http://hdl.handle.net/2429/28228.

Full text
Abstract:
Vaughan Williams composed nine symphonies of diverse character and style and each of fine quality. Because of the span of Vaughan Williams's symphonic career over many years (1903-1958) and because of the newly active musical climate in England during his years of symphonic production, these works are of considerable historical as well as analytical interest. There is much literature of differing kinds - analytical, social, historical, and critical - devoted to the works, mainly by leading English writers over the decades. Notwithstanding the bulk and quality of discussion, there is a noticeable lack of extensive analysis of the kind which seeks to elucidate and interpret the manner in which symphonic conflicts central to each of the symphonies is expressed. The lacuna of comprehensive analysis has retarded progress in the understanding not only of Vaughan Williams's symphonic works, but also toward a fuller understanding of developments in the twentieth-century English symphony, in relation to which these works are of such seminal importance. For this reason, it is the intention of this study to present an isolated examination of Vaughan Williams's Symphony No. 4 in F Minor. The investigation will be divided into two parts, the first, analytical and the second, an historical interpretation of the evidence presented in part I. The study begins with an expository analysis of the thematic, formal and tonal structures, and harmonic and contrapuntal techniques peculiar to the fourth symphony. The analysis is intended to lay a groundwork for the more particular considerations which follow. The purpose of the second chapter is to bring to light the central issues, features, and conflicts of the symphony: structurally pervasive motivic ideas, thematic transformations and interrelationships, and structurally significant dissonances. The second part of the thesis includes an investigation of particular influences on the fourth symphony evident from the analysis of part I and through external documentation. Chapter IV, which concludes part II, is subdivided into three parts: 1) a comparison between No. 4 and Vaughan Williams's other symphonies in order to determine its significance within the composer's total symphonic output; 2) a study of Vaughan Williams's participation in English symphonic developments of the twentieth century and the significance of the fourth regarding the musical atmosphere in England at the time; and 3) an examination of Vaughan Williams's general contribution to, and the particular historical place of No. 4 within, nineteenth- and twentieth-century lines of symphonic development. The analysis reveals that the Symphony No. 4 has a progressive network of thematic transformations and an underlying pattern of manifestations of the symphony's initial motivic dissonance. The consideration of the fourth symphony's historical importance discloses the role of the work as a catalyst upon Vaughan Williams's symphonic oeuvre toward a more sophisticated approach to harmonic, motivic, thematic and formal structure, the effects of which were witnessed immediately in the Symphony No. 5. The thesis exposes Vaughan Williams's contribution to conservative structural innovation in the twentieth-century symphony and his strongly individual stylistic interpretation of traditional symphonic thought.

Leinberger, Charles Francis 1955. "An Austrian in Hollywood: Leitmotifs, thematic transformation and key relationships in Max Steiner's 1942 film score, "Now, Voyager"." Diss., The University of Arizona, 1996. http://hdl.handle.net/10150/290651.

Full text
Abstract:
Austrian-born composer Max Steiner (1888-1971), who moved to Hollywood, California (U.S.A.) in 1929, brought to the American cinema a style of composition inspired by the works of Richard Wagner, Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss. In spite of his profound influence on this new style of American music, very little detailed analysis of his film scores has been done. Biographical information is presented here with emphasis on the events leading up to and including the composition of the Academy-Award-winning score for the 1942 Warner Brothers film, Now, Voyager. The process of film score analysis is also briefly discussed, as well as the availability of unpublished film scores at various film archives in the United States. The body of this paper presents a detailed analysis of the harmonic, melodic and rhythmic elements that make up the seven main themes in the Now, Voyager score, as well as the transformation of those themes throughout the film. Leitmotifs and changes in tonality are an important part of this style, and they demonstrate a strong late-nineteenth-century romantic influence. These seven themes are consistently associated with the specific characters and situations as the film's narrative progresses. The relationship between these themes and the narrative of the film is discussed. Like Wagner and Strauss, Steiner has assigned themes to each main character and situation, and he applies the leitmotif technique to each of these themes. The consistency with which these themes occur simultaneously with their corresponding characters or situations on the screen is obviously intentional. The timing of these musical events in synchronization with the visual images is always very precise. Attempting such precise timing, however, could have easily resulted in a score that lacks any kind of unity or structure. The fact that all of these musical events are put together to form a logical and coherent score clearly exhibits a great sense of craftsmanship.

Whetter, Lindsay. "Faith inside : an ethnographic exploration of Kainos Community, HMP The Verne." Thesis, University of Exeter, 2015. http://hdl.handle.net/10871/22974.

Full text
Abstract:
In April 1997 Kainos Community in HMP The Verne, Dorset, England became the first faith-based prison unit to be established in the Western world. The foundations and ethos of Kainos are based on Christian concepts of ‘loving your neighbour’ and forgiveness. The community operates as a hybrid therapeutic community (TC) and cognitive behavioural programme (CBP). It is open to and inclusive of prisoners of all faiths and none. The aim of this study is to explore the Kainos community ethnographically, guided by the principles of grounded theory and thematic analysis, in order to investigate whether or not Kainos ameliorates some of the de-humanising aspects of prison, and if so, how it rehumanises the prison space. Theoretically, this study highlights the dehumanisation of imprisonment, and illuminates the role that a holistic, Christian-based approach can play in terms of making the prison environment ‘more human’. My findings reveal that on Kainos there are physical, liminal and spiritual spatial mechanisms, in which a family of sub-themes interact to enable flourishing to occur. Kainos has created a physical space in which spaces of architecture and design; sensory experience; movement; and home interact to enable flourishing, whereby prisoners feel ‘more homely’, ‘free’, safe, and calm. Kainos has created a liminal space in which spaces of atmosphere; identity; home; and creativity interact to enable flourishing, empowering prisoners in their self-expression; as a cathartic tool; and as a means of regaining or creating a new identity. Kainos has created a spiritual space in which spaces of Christian activism, love, and forgiveness enable self-worth, healing, transformation, and meaningful change. The implication is that Kainos has created spaces of flourishing, safety and peace within an otherwise dehumanising carceral space, and this plays an important role in the process of transformational change imperative in the desistance process. If society must have prisons, this study concludes that Kainos provides a model for how they should be.

Lindkvist, Holly. "Universitetslärares upplevelse av att använda Canvas : En kvalitativ studie om att använda och lära sig använda en lärplattform." Thesis, KTH, Lärande, 2021. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:kth:diva-289623.

Full text
Abstract:
The learning management system Canvas was introduced at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in 2016. Most teachers began using the platform in 2017, however the transition to a new system has its difficulties. This study has examined what influences teachers’ use of Canvas and which method they used to learn how to use the tool. The aim of the study has been to investigate how KTH can develop support for teachers and how Canvas usability can be improved. Seven teachers in mathematics were interviewed about their experiences. The interviewees were selected to highlight problem areas that can be experienced by teachers, which is therefore reflected in the results. All interviews were conducted shortly before KTH switched to digital education inconnection with the covid-19 pandemic. The study shows that teachers primarily use functions to share information and communicate with students. Functions that are more educational and interactive were less used. Four themes have been identified as explanations: Attitude, Needs, Structure and Technical Difficulties. Teachers’ attitudes and needs influence the teachers' motivation to expand their use and learn more about Canvas. The system’s structure and technical difficulties constituted additional obstacles that gave the teachers a negative experience. Among other things, the teachers had difficulty navigating and getting started with the platform. The teachers mostly learned how to use the system by trial and error, and many of the help functions were not used. This was partly because several of the teachers were oblivious to the existence of some of the help functions, but also because the teachers were not motivated to learn more than necessary. Based on the study, it is recommended that KTH reduces the threshold for starting to use Canvas. They could, for example, develop accessible templates that teachers can use in the beginning. If it is desirable to make teachers use more of Canvas functionality, it is also recommended that KTH work with the teachers’ motivation and drive so that they are willing to develop their work and increase learning. Formal education could be a way, however it must be designed according to the needs of the teachers. Finally, it is recommended to perform user tests to explore how the usability can be improved.

Abstract:
This study offers the first extensive analysis of the function and significance of urban panegyric in the Central Middle Ages, a flexible literary genre which enjoyed a marked and renewed popularity in the period 1100 to 1300. In doing so, it connects the production of urban panegyric to major underlying transformations in the medieval city and explores praise of cities primarily in England, Flanders, France, Germany, Iberia, and Italy (including the South and Sicily). The study demonstrates how laudatory ideas on the city appeared in extremely diverse textual formats which had the potential to interact with a wide audience via multiple textual and material sources. When contextualized within the developments of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries these ideas could reflect more than formulaic, rhetorical outputs for an educated elite, they were instead integral to the process of urbanization. This study assesses the generation of ideas on the Holy City, on counter-narratives associated with the Evil City, on the interrelationship between the city and abundance (primarily through discourses on commercial productivity, hinterlands, and population size), on landscapes and sites of power, and on knowledge generation and the construction of urban histories. Urban panegyric can enable us to comprehend more deeply material, functional, and ideological change associated with the city during a period of notable urbanization, and, importantly, how this change might have been experienced by contemporaries. This study therefore highlights the importance of urban panegyric as a product of, and witness to, a period of substantial urban change. In examining the laudatory depiction of medieval cities in a thematic analysis it can contribute to a deeper understanding of civic identity and its important connection to urban transformation.

Abstract:
Gunnar Myrdal published his magnum opus, Asian Drama: An Inquiry into the Poverty of Nations, in 1968. He was deeply pessimistic about development prospects in Asia. The fifty years since then have witnessed a remarkable social and economic transformation in Asia – even if it has been uneven across countries and unequal between people – that would have been difficult to imagine, let alone predict at the time. This book analyses the fascinating story of economic development in Asia spanning half a century. The study is divided into three parts. The first part sets the stage by discussing the contribution of Gunnar Myrdal, the author, and Asian Drama, the book, to the debate on development then and now, and by providing a long-term historical perspective on Asia in the world. The second part comprises cross-country thematic studies on governments, economic openness, agricultural transformation, industrialization, macroeconomics, poverty and inequality, education and health, employment and unemployment, institutions and nationalisms, analysing processes of change while recognizing the diversity in paths and outcomes. The third part is constituted by country-studies on China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, and sub-region studies on East Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia, highlighting turning points in economic performance and analysing factors underlying success or failure. This book, with in-depth studies by eminent economists and social scientists, is the first to examine the phenomenal changes which are transforming economies in Asia and shifting the balance of economic power in the world, while reflecting on the future prospects in Asia over the next twenty-five years. It is a must-read.

Abstract:
“Transforming Glasgow is designed to become an essential book for academics, students, and urban practitioners. The book explores how the city of Glasgow is coming to terms with its post-industrial status and the challenges it still faces to reposition itself as an economically competitive and socially just modern city. The ways in which Glasgow is navigating its transition from a de-industrial to a post-industrial city and beyond will be critically examined through 14 thematic chapters along with an introduction and conclusion. The chapters cover the fundamental elements of urban transformation including health, housing, migration, transport, the built environment, culture, sustainability, community development, governance, and economic development, with attention to the transformation of Glasgow as a place and the impacts on people in the city. In so doing Transforming Glasgow seeks to question what comprises a post-industrial city and the extent to which Glasgow is moving beyond characterisation as a post-industrial city.”

Abstract:
This book is a social history of the property market in late-colonial Delhi; a period of much turbulence and transformation. It argues that historians of South Asian cities must connect transformations in urban space and Delhi’s economy. Utilizing a novel archive, it outlines the place of private property development in Delhi’s economy from 1911 to 1947. Rather than large-scale state initiatives, like the Delhi Improvement Trust, it was profit-oriented, decentralized, and market-based initiatives of urban construction that created the Delhi cityscape. A second thematic concern of Possessing the City is to carefully specify the emerging relationship between the state and urban space during this period. Rather than a narrow focus on urban planning ideas, it argues that the relationship be thought of in triangular fashion: the intermediation of the property market was crucial to emerging statecraft and urban form during this period. Finally, the book examines struggles and conflicts over the commodification of land. Rents and prices of urban property were directly at issue in the tussles over housing that are examined here. The question of commodification can, however, also be discerned in struggles that were not ostensibly about economic issues: clashes over religious sites in the city. Through careful attention to the historical interrelationships between state, space, and the economy, this book offers a novel intervention in the history of late-colonial Delhi.

The introduction establishes the importance of works of urban panegyric as sources for understanding urban transformation in the period 1100 to 1300. It details how the study categorizes and identifies works of panegyric, demonstrating that praise of cities appears in many and diverse textual forms and does not conform to a formulaic template. The introduction also provides an overview of the scholarship on urban panegyric and establishes some of the study’s key criteria (definitions of a city, geographical and chronological coverage). It also provides a contextual overview of the sociopolitical development of the medieval city in the Central Middle Ages as initial background for the thematic analyses that will follow in subsequent chapters. Finally, it provides an overview plan of the arrangement of the book and the content of its chapters.

Abstract:
AbstractIn the 2016 Volume 2 of the Satoyama Initiative Thematic Review (SITR), a summary of the activities of the Grani Antichi Association in Montespertoli, Tuscany, was introduced with a roll out plan for transformative change of the supply chain and possible replication of the project in other regions. The main goal of the project has been to restore and preserve ancient varieties of wheat, cultivate them sustainably and include a form of payment for the least compensated members of the production chain. The aims of the Association are to reduce the carbon footprint of modern agricultural practices and the landslides and soil erosion caused by them, to preserve biodiversity and most importantly, to improve farmers’ revenue, enabling them to safeguard the environment and improve health by cultivating healthy food. The preservation of social ties and local knowledge is an additional result. Markers of the project’s success include benefits that are equally distributed across the production chain, farmers who are motivated to cultivate ancient wheat varieties and the conversion of 500 ha of abandoned or conventionally cultivated land to a more sustainable and biodiverse system. The market economy system in place was dismantled, and farmers now have access to more economic benefits, which must be distributed fairly. Because the project provides a transformative model of production and consumption outside the traditional market economy system, it appears to function with a complete multi-sectoral chain, where producers, food processors and consumers agree on a set price for a defined product. This chapter provides a preliminary analysis of the successes and challenges related to the main project and to upscaling in different areas.

Abstract:
This chapter extends the critique of transformation in American philosophy by looking at conversion thematically. It argues that the American philosophers are convinced that a genuine transformation of the form, content, and character of habits and inquiry is possible in experience. The origin of this transformation transcends experience and complete conscious control, but this transcendence can be discovered only by approaching the limit of self-consciously controlled change. The remainder of this chapter contains, first, some considerations concerning the shared methods of approach to transformation, especially in light of the religious character of this discussion in the pragmatists; and second, a thematic account of the transformation that becomes conversion.

Abstract:
"In the modern world, when the situation of social transitivity is, in fact, a complex difficult situation, it is relevant to turn to the study of coping methods that are characteristic and specific to this situation. A special role in the study of coping in a transitive society can be played by turning to cross-cultural studies that allow us to trace the transformations of coping in the context of modernization society. The article presents the results of a thematic analysis of narratives and free-form interviews of respondents from Russia and Uzbekistan, which allow us to conclude that the transformation of coping strategies in the process of modernizing traditional culture goes along the path of individualization, which is expressed as the need to take individual responsibility for solving difficult situations, and in the formation of a flexible repertoire of coping strategies that correspond to an individualistic, rather than a receding traditional collectivist culture. The study allows not only to understand individual strategies of perception, categorization and affective assessment of difficult life situations by representatives of different cultures, but also makes it possible to interpret them in the broader context of studying coping processes in a situation of social uncertainty and variability."

Abstract:
The paper explores the perceptions of university students and their desired features on the use of blockchain technology for the management of education records. A literature review forms the theoretical basis of the research allowing to explore how education records are managed nowadays and the potential for the use of blockchain technology in this area. The theoretical framework is then used to discuss the research findings. The research adopts the interpretive qualitative approach and collects data through a focus group interview with university students. Computer assisted thematic data analysis yields five key themes: current usage of university education records, understanding how blockchain works, sustainability of blockchain, security of blockchain and implementation of blockchain for education records. Participants were generally positive towards the use of blockchain for the management of education records and saw it as one of the potential future solutions. Nevertheless, they voiced some reservations regarding the high energy consumption, costs and security towards a possible use of the blockchain technology. Therefore, careful implementation would be needed, with increased focus on usability, solving some security and sustainability issues and ensuring a fair and transparent access model. This research contributes to the current body of knowledge within informatics by empowering students to share their perception of possible development of student record systems based on blockchain technology. It also provides insights which can be used in the future to achieve a more user focused design of education records management systems.

Full text
Abstract:
Purpose– the article explores how did management accounting concept evolve and develop in Russia during the post-Soviet era. This study is informed by the specific way of the development of management accounting in Russia and a lack of related studies. Research methodology – this is a historical study based on archival methods. Evidence was obtained from sources varying from related literature to personal field notes and reflections arising from observations and experience gained in my more than 2 decades as a consultant and educator in the field of management accounting. The analysis in this study follows an interpretive approach: a narrative analysis of evidence used the model of thematic analysis to arrive at the findings. Findings – the results of the research demonstrate that the management accounting evolution in Russia contains three distinct periods: 1990’s – transactional focus, mainly related to cost; 2000’s – management accounting as an internal advisory function; 2010’s – management accounting on its way to financial leadership. This evolution followed the same path as in the developed markets, however, the patterns of this typology in Russia were much weaker. The driving forces of the development of management accounting were different than in the environment of developed markets. The benefits of management accounting to the overall corporate success were insignificant at each of the discussed phases. Research limitations – research results could be influenced by contextual nature and subjectivity of interpretative analysis, possible incompleteness and subjective selection of archival data, limited resources for analysis and interpretation. Practical implications – the research enriches our understanding of the development of management accounting in emerging economies, and it could support decisions in the transformation of financial function along with its maturity continuum. Furthermore, this research could be used as a part of the content of programs in professional and business education. Originality/Value – there is a lack of similar studies, which makes the research a significant contribution to existing conversations in science and professional practice

Full text
Abstract:
The research is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of mediatization of art on the example of virtual museums. Main objective of the study is to give communication characteristics of the mediatized socio-cultural institutions. The subject of the research is forms, directions and communication features of virtual museums. Methodology. In the process of study, the method of communication analysis, which allowed to identify and characterize the main factors of the museum’s functioning as a communication system, was used. Among them, special emphasis is put on receptive and metalinguistic functions. Results / findings and conclusions. The need to be competitive in the information space determines the gradual transformation of socio-cultural institutions into mass media, which is reflected in the content and forms of dialogue with recipients. When cultural institutions begin to function as media, they take on the features of media structures that create a communication environment localized by the functions of communicators and audience expectations. Museums function in such a way that along with the real art space they form a virtual space, which puts the recipients into the reality of the exhibitions based on the principle of immersion. Mediaization of art on the example of virtual museum institutions allows us to talk about: expanding of the perceptual capabilities of the audience; improvement of the exposition function of mediatized museums with the help of Internet technologies; interactivity of museum expositions; providing broad contextual background knowledge necessary for a deep understanding of the content of works of art; the possibility to have a delayed viewing of works of art; absence of thematic, time and space restrictions; possibility of communication between visitors; a huge target audience. Significance. The study of the mediatized forms of communication between museums and visitors as well as the directions of their transformation into media are certainly of interest to the scientific field of “Social Communications”.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the peculiarities of the media content shaping and transformation in the convergent dimension of cross-media, taking into account the possibilities of augmented reality. With the help of the principles of objectivity, complexity and reliability in scientific research, a number of general scientific and special methods are used: method of analysis, synthesis, generalization, method of monitoring, observation, problem-thematic, typological and discursive methods. According to the form of information presentation, such types of media content as visual, audio, verbal and combined are defined and characterized. The most important in journalism is verbal content, it is the one that carries the main information load. The dynamic development of converged media leads to the dominance of image and video content; the likelihood of increasing the secondary content of the text increases. Given the market situation, the effective information product is a combined content that combines text with images, spreadsheets with video, animation with infographics, etc. Increasing number of new media are using applications and website platforms to interact with recipients. To proceed, the peculiarities of the new content of new media with the involvement of augmented reality are determined. Examples of successful interactive communication between recipients, the leading news agencies and commercial structures are provided. The conditions for effective use of VR / AR-technologies in the media content of new media, the involvement of viewers in changing stories with augmented reality are determined. The so-called immersive effect with the use of VR / AR-technologies involves complete immersion, immersion of the interested audience in the essence of the event being relayed. This interaction can be achieved through different types of VR video interactivity. One of the most important results of using VR content is the spatio-temporal and emotional immersion of viewers in the plot. The recipient turns from an external observer into an internal one; but his constant participation requires that the user preferences are taken into account. Factors such as satisfaction, positive reinforcement, empathy, and value influence the choice of VR / AR content by viewers.

Abstract:
Long-term trends in Nordic societies (such as ageing populations), along with rapid social transformations (like those brought about by automation and digitalisation), have resulted in increased attention being paid to skills and skills enhancement – not least from policymakers looking to cope with those challenges. However, skills are complex and many actors are involved in their promotion and provision. In this study, we focus on the regional level, which is the point of scale at which the demand for, and supply of, various skills is often articulated. In order to respond to the research question concerning How regions work with skills, six case studies were conducted in 2019 and 2020. That meant one case study in each of the Nordic countries. Those selected were Pohjois-Karjala (North Karelia, Finland), Värmland (Sweden), Hovedstaden (Denmark), Hedmark and Oppland (Norway), Norðurland eystra (Northeastern Region, Iceland), and one in Greenland. This report on skills for resilient and innovative regions is part of a series of reports conducted on behalf of the Nordic Thematic Group for Innovative and Resilient Regions 2017–2020, within the Nordics Cooperation Program for Regional Development and Planning, and under the aegis of the Nordics Council of Ministers.

Full text
Abstract:
The article examines the world and Ukrainian history of corporate periodicals. The main purpose of this study is to reproduce an objective global picture of the emergence and formation of corporate periodicals, taking into account the business and socio-economic context. Accordingly, its tasks are to compare the conditions and features of corporate media genesis in different countries, to determine the main factors of their development, as well as to clarify the transformations of the terminological apparatus. The research is based on mostly foreign secondary scientific works published from 1915 to the present time. The literature was studied using methods such as overview, historical, functional and thematic analysis, description, and generalization. A systematic approach was used to determine the role and place of each element in the system, as well as to comprehensively consider the object in the general historical context and within the current scientific discourse. The method of systematization made it possible to establish internal and external connections, patterns and contradictions in the development of the object of study. The main historical milestones on this path are identified, examples of the first successful corporate publications and their contribution to business development, public relations, and corporate communications are considered. It was found that corporate media emerged in the mid-nineteenth century spontaneously, on the wave of practical business needs in response to industrialization, company increase, staff growth, and consumer market development. Their appearance preceded the formation of the public relations industry and changed the structure of the information space. The scientific significance of this research is that the historical look at the evolution of corporate media provides an understanding of their place, influence, capabilities, and growing communicative role in the digital age.
