The research object of this thesis is the sum of a random number of summands of independent identically distributed random variables with positive weights. Such sums appear as models, for example, in insurance, finance mathematics. Throughout the thesis, it is assumed that the random number of summands is independent of the summands, the summands satisfy S. N. Bernstein's condition, and the random number of summands together with weights satisfy some compatibility conditions. Consider an iterated function system (IFS) that does not necessarily contract uniformly, but instead contracts on average after a finite number of iterations. Under some technical assumptions, previous work by Barnsley, Demko, Elton and Geronimo has shown that such an IFS has a unique invariant probability measure, whilst many (such as Peigné, Hennion and Hervé, Guivarc'h and le Page, Santos and Walkden) have shown that (for different function spaces) the transfer operator associated with the IFS is quasi-compact. A result due to Keller and Liverani allows one to deduce whether the transfer op

We consider a simple one-dimensional random dynamical system with two driving vector fields and random switchings between them. We show that this system satisfies a one force - one solution principle and compute its unique invariant density explicitly. We study the limiting behavior of the invariant density as the switching rate approaches zero and infinity and derive analogues of classical probabilistic results such as the central limit theorem and large deviations principle.

D'une part, on prouve qu'en fixant le pas de la grille et en faisant tendre la taille de la population en chaque point de la grille vers l'infini, le modèle stochastique converge vers le modèle déterministe sur la grille. With the offshore wind industry aiming to deploy deeper water sites (> 30 m) while still utilizing monopiles, support structures with larger diameters are required. For the design and assessment of so-called XXL monopiles, wave-induced forces, which become more dominant with increasing diameter, have to be determined accurately. Thus, this study focuses on the identification of differences between state-of-the-art theories for wave load calculations with engineering models and the forces exerted on large monopiles from high-precision numerical reference methods. Gamma spectrometry is widely used to determine the radioactive content of waste drums. However, the results of such surveys often result in large numbers of limit-of-detection (LOD) results. In that approach it was necessary to make assumptions about the statistical distribution (taken to be lognormal) of the activities and the geometric standard deviations of the distribu
