Full textThis work constitutes a contribution to the simulation of the microscopie behavior of polymers using a new generation of numerical techniques. The kinetic theory models ar~ characterized by a discrete representation of functions in probabilistic spaces of configurations of very high size. AlI the CUITent deterministic methods remain unable to solve equations of the Fokker-Planck type describing the evolution of the probability distribution. Our approach consists in treating dimensions of the problem in an uncoupled manner : it is the method of representation in tensorial product of functions tested in various cases: reptation models, polymer suspension, polymers and fibers Network. . . This work was extended to the study of the complex flows within the framework of the Stream-Tubes method in order to carry out a coupling between the microscopie structuring and the macroscopic flow

Full textLet Γ be a finite subgroup of SU2(ℂ). Then the quotient ℂ2/Γ can be embedded in ℂ3 as a surface with an isolated singularity. The quotient ℂ2/Γ is called a Kleinian singularity, after F. Klein who studied them first in 1884. Through their minimal resolutions, these singularities have a deep connection with simply-laced Dynkin diagrams of types Ar, Dr and Er. In the 1970's E. Brieskorn and P. Slodowy took advantage of this connection to describe the resolutions and deformations of these singularities in terms of Lie theory. In 1998 P. Slodowy and H. Cassens constructed the semiuniversal deformations of the Kleinian singularities using quiver theory and work from 1989 by P.B. Kronheimer on symplectic geometry. In Lie theory, the classification of simple Lie algebras allows for a separation in two classes: those simply-laced of types Ar, Dr and Er, and those of types Br, Cr, F4 and G2 called inhomogeneous. With the use of a second finite subgroup Γ’ of SU2(ℂ) such that Γ ⊲ Γ’, P. Slodowy extended in 1978 the definition of a Kleinian singularity to the inhomogeneous types by adding to ℂ2/Γ the group of automorphisms Ω= Γ’/Γ of the Dynkin diagram associated to the singularity. The purpose of this thesis is to generalize H. Cassens' and P. Slodowy's construction to the singularities of types Br, Cr, F4 and G2. It will lead to explicit semiuniversal deformations of inhomogeneous types on the fibers of which the group Ω acts. By quotienting such a map we obtain a deformation of a singularity ℂ2/Γ’

Full textLipids from microalgae and carbohydrates from cyanobacteria can be transformed into biodiesel and bioethanol, respectively. Enhancing the production of these molecules must account for the periodic inputs (mainly light) forcing the metabolic network of these photosynthetic organisms. It is therefore necessary to account for the dynamics of the metabolic network, while reducing its dimension to ensure mathematical tractability. The aim of this work is to design an original approach to reduce dynamic metabolic networks while keeping the core dynamics. This method is based on time-scale separation. For a class of metabolic network models described by ODE, the dynamics of the reduced systems are computed using the theorem of Tikhonov for singularly perturbed systems. This Quasi Steady State Approximation accurately coincides with the original network dynamics, with a bounded error. The approach is first developed for reaction systems that can be linearized around a working point and that are forced by external continuous inputs. Then, a generalization of this method is given for networks with fast reactions of Michaelis-Menten kinetics and any type of slow kinetics, also considering a finite number of external continuous inputs. The reduction method highlights a relation between the concentration magnitude of the metabolites and the range of the reaction rates: the metabolites that are consumed by fast reactions have concentration one order of magnitude lower than metabolites consumed at slow rates. This property is satisfied for metabolites with fast dynamics that are not in a flux trap, a concept introduced in this work. The reduced system can be calibrated with experimental data using a dedicated identification procedure based on minimization. The approach is illustrated with an autotrophic microalgae metabolic network, including the core metabolism and representing the carbohydrates and lipids dynamics. The approach efficiently fits the experimental data from Lacour et al. (2012) with the microalgae Tisochrysis lutea. Finally, a scheme to optimize the production of target molecules is proposed using the reduced system

Full textDue to increasing environmental concern, the automotive industry needs a better control of consumption and pollutants emission. A predictive study of these requires complex physical models that have high computation times. So this research work aims at elaborating a simplified model of thermal engine behavior during temperature increase phases. A reduction methodology of nodal thermal models is adaptated to systems including variable and non-symmetric elements (fluid flow). Starting from heat transfer model of the engine (1700 nodes) we obtain a reduced model (10 nodes) giving the dynamics at the system interfaces with low computation times. To produce a both simple and harmonically rich reduced model, we use nodal models structures called “arborescent” corresponding to a form of Padé approximation. The termination of these structures in cases where the initial model changes (variable fluid flow) is a necessary progress to consider such a complex model as an internal thermal engine
