The research not only identified particular language processes contributing to successful and less successful therapeutic outcomes; but, how therapists use language to enable clients to make meaningful changes to their lives. The research developed a new methodology to objectively assess therapeutic performance that was based upon an analysis of several thousand therapy sessions undertaken in the QUT Psychology Clinic in order to examine the language processes associated with more and less effective psychotherapy. An objective was to examine their attitudes and beliefs toward inclusion. This study used role theory as the theoretical framework.
