Abstract:
Art therapy has been recognized as beneficial and effective since first described by Adrian Hill in 1942. Even before this time, art therapy was utilized for moral reinforcement and psychoanalysis. Art therapy aids patients with, but not limited to, chronic illness, physical challenges, and cancer in both pediatric and adult scenarios. Although effective in patient care, the practice of art therapy is extremely underutilized, especially in suburban areas. While conducting our own study in northeastern Ohio, USA, we found that only one out of the five inpatient institutions in the suburban area

HAART (Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy) revolutionized HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) treatment upon its introduction in 1996. But, HAART has not been a complete solution for HIV infection. Hence, nanotechnology-based delivery systems are being developed to target the HIV virus and evaluated for their safety and efficacy. Among employed nanocarriers, dendrimers are repetitively branched molecules which are an ideal carrier for developing preventive antiretroviral dru

Patient geometry often changes during the course of radiation therapy due to factors such as weight loss, tumor and normal tissue growth or shrinkage, and intra-treatment position variations. It has been shown that these changes can cause the dose delivered to differ from the originally planned dose distribution. Often this will result in the need to create a modified treatment plan, a process known as adaptive radiation therapy. The management of patients failing second line antiretroviral therapy (ART) is a critical area of study considering the increasing numbers of patients on second line regimens, and the expense and poor availability of third line ART. Most patients who experience virologic failure (VF) on second line ART in low-middle income countries fail due to poor adherence rather than antiretroviral resistance. Pharmacy refill is an easily implementable adherence measure which has shown to correlate with viral load monitoring and survival, and has potential over the short term to be used as a simple adheren

A recent update of research adds to the evidence about the relative benefits and harms of newer anticoagulation therapies and tools to predict stroke related to atrial fibrillation and bleeding risk.
