Abstract:

Cette these est constituee de quatre parties. La premiere presente le cadre de vie dans lequel therese a evolue. Sont evoques tour a tour les contextes politique, economique, social, culturel, religieux, familial et carmelitain qui permettent de mieux comprendre cette jeune femme. Il est ensuite precise la signification du vocable "misericorde" qui se manifeste, pour therese, a tous les tournants de sa vie, a travers des evenements precis. Cette etude se penche ensuite sur les diverses sources et influences qui ont permis a therese d'etre confortee et affermie dans sa conception de la misericorde divine. La deuxieme partie est centree sur l'autobiographie de therese en tant que temoin de la misericorde divine. Une fois les manuscrits autobiographiques replaces dans leur contexte, il est procede d'une facon plus precise a l'examen de la conception theresienne de la misericorde dans sa propre existence. La troisieme partie examine la pensee theresienne concernant la misericorde qui s'impose comme l'attribut essentiel de dieu qui apparait comme un pere plein de tendresse et d'amour. Mais c'est la personne de jesus qui retient surtout l'attention de therese. Il est etudie la nature et les manifestations de cette misericorde qui descend au coeur de la faiblesse, de la pauvrete de l'etre humain afin de l'elever a la gloire divine. La quatrieme partie, la plus developpee, presente la reponse de therese a la misericorde de dieu au sein de trois grands chapitres : la force et la faiblesse de therese, l'oraison, accueil de la misericorde divine, la reponse au dieu misericordieux dans la foi, la confiance et l'amour
This thesis is comprised of four parts. The first presents therese in her daily life and environment. The socio-political contents as well as the cultural, religious, familial and carmelitan ones, which evoke the meanings of the term "mercy" are then studied. Ste therese's reasons for her strong belief in divine mercy are examined through the study of sources and influences that my have guided her. The second part focuses on the saint's autobiography as testament of divine mercy once the autobiographical manuscripts are placed in the proper context, we can proceed to examine more precisely therese's concept of mercy in her own life. A third part studies the theresian characterization of mercy as god's principal attribute. Therese is above all attracted to jesus as a person. We investigate, through therese beliefs, the nature and manifestations of this mercy, showing how it goes right to the heart of the human being's spiritual frailty and poverty, in order to lift him towards divine glory. The last part deals in a more developped way therese's response to god's mercy divided into three long chapters, this final section presents therese's strnghts and weaknesses, her prayers and acceptance of divine mercy, and finally her answer to god's mercy through faith, trust and love

Abstract:

Le probleme du personnage a toujours ete un des points de fixation de la critique mauriacienne. Cette lecture des personnages dans "therese desqueyroux" se situe sur un terrain d'etude ou s'impose l'approche semiotico-narratologique. En tant que signifiant du personnage, l'"etiquette" signifie parce qu'elle assure des fonctions narratives et descriptives en designant la place des personnages dans la narration et en fournissant les premiers indices semantiques. La mise en scene des personnages realise un effet de hierarchie a travers les procedes de qualification, de mise en fonction et de focalisation. Une causalite psychologique proprement mauriacienne et un monologue interieur assigne a l'heroine caracterisent la mise en relief du "heros". Defini en semiotique comme lieu de rencontre de la composante grammaticale et de la composante semantique, l'acteur se compose par deux structures correlatives: la structure narrative ordonnance les contenus offerts par la langue, decelant les regles de la transformation des actants au cours du recit; la structure discursive decrit semantiquement les statuts et les formes de ces contenus. Le signifie du personnage est indissociable d'autres composantes du recit. L'espace dans ce roman depasse le role d'un cadre d'existence, il s'errige en un langage qui parle de la psychologie du personnage et en constitue ainsi un second systeme de signification. Une telle analyse conduit a mettre en evidence un mecanisme du personnage mauriacien qui repond a la fois aux contraintes du genre et a l'originalite de l'oeuvre
The problem of character has always been one of the focal points in mauriac criticism. This study of characters in "therese desqueyroux" a field of study where semiotico-narratological methods are brought into play. As a signifier of character, the "label" holds meaning because it fulfils narrative and descriptive functions by designating the place of the characters in the narration and providing their first semantic indications. The staging of the characters creates an effect of hierarchy through procedures of qualification, deployment ans focalisation. A psychological causality specific to mauriac and the intorior monologue given to heroine characterize the highlighting of the "heros". Defined in semiotics as the meeting point of the grammatical and the semantical components, the "actor" issues from two correlative structures: the narrative structure organize the units of meaning, regulating the transformation of the "actants" during the narration; the discursive structure gives a semantic description of the status and forms of this units. The signified of the characters is inseparable from other components of the text. In this novel, the role of space goes beyond that of mere serroundings; it becomes a language of psychology and constitutes a second system of meaning of the characters. Such a study aims to bring to light the mechanism of mauriac's characters; it both responds to the constraints of the genre and to the originality of the work

Abstract:

'Sola gratia' is the core of 'spiritual childhood' for Therese of Lisieux (1873--1897) as an existential theology centered on the redemptive work of God. This theological aspect is shared both by Therese's spirituality and by Dietrich Bonhoeffer's (1906--1945) theology. This study offers for the first time a comparison between their thought, mainly with regard to the Lutheran doctrine of justification by faith, analysed through the notion of kenosis and the question of otherness. The first part (chapters 1 to 3) is more philosophical. It deals with Bonhoeffer's theology in its early stage and analyses his debate with Erich Przywara (1889--1972) concerning the 'analogy of being' ('analogia entis'). The second part (chapters 4 and 5) expatiates on the proper basis for the comparison between Bonhoeffer and Therese offered by the notion of kenosis (chapter 4) and by the communicative structure of faith experience (chapter 5). This part is the pivotal one, from the first phase of Bonhoeffer's theology---his discussion with Przywara's philosophical and theological endeavour---to the second and third phases of Bonhoeffer's theology then compared to Therese's spirituality. The third part (chapters 6 to 9) deals with the kenotic structure common to Bonhoeffer and Therese, and basic for a genuine understanding of justification by faith.
Justification by faith is thus the unifying aspect of this study, whose three-parts structure reflects the evolution of Bonhoeffer's theology traditionally divided up in three different periods. This study deepens the way Bonhoeffer understands otherness and the shifted emphasis in his thinking from the subject/object scheme, through otherness as exteriority, and finally to otherness as interiority.
The many cultural and thematic differences between the Roman-Catholic nun and the Lutheran pastor are being taken into account, along with the common elements central to their thinking. The emphasis on the kenotic structure sheds light on questions never asked in theresian studies so far, e.g. the relationship between 'faith' and 'works'. Through the gratuitousness of redemption implied in justification and in sanctification as well, Therese's teaching and Bonhoeffer's theology are on the same line: the freeing of the self does imply the conformation to Christ's kenotic existence.
This study pertains to the following three major concerns: oecumenical (doctrine of justification by faith), philosophical (otherness), and spiritual (authentic self-accomplishment). This study offers a polyphonic analysis pertaining to issues christological (kenosis), theological (grace and freedom), and spiritual (maturity in faith). Thus, it shows how theological discourse can be developed in a new way mainly with regard to the anthropological foundation of spiritual experience and the relevance of it for systematic theology; this cannot be achieved without a more critical use of the philosophical argumentation in theology.

Abstract:

Each year thousands of students enrol in introductory statistics courses at universities throughout Australia, bringing with them formal and informal statistical knowledge and reasoning, as well as a wide range of basic numeracy skills, mathematical inclinations and attitudes towards statistics, which have the potential to impact on their ability to develop statistically. This research develops and investigates measures of each of these components for students at the interface of secondary and tertiary education, and investigates the relationships that exist between them, and a range of background variables. The focus of the research is on measuring and analysing levels and abilities in statistical reasoning for a range of students at the tertiary interface, with particular interest also in investigating their basic numeracy skills and how these may or may not link with statistical reasoning allowing for other variables and factors. Information from three cohorts in an introductory data analysis course, whose focus is real data investigations, provides basis for the research. This course is compulsory for all students in degree programs associated with all sciences or mathematics. The research discusses and reports on the development of questionnaires to measure numeracy and statistical reasoning and the students' attitudes and reflections on their prior school experiences with statistics. Students' attitudes are found to be generally positive, particularly with regard to their self-efficacy. They are also in no doubt as to the links that exist between mathematics and statistics. The Numeracy Questionnaire, developed to measure pre-calculus skills relevant to an introductory data analysis course which emphasises real data investigations, demonstrates that many students who have completed a basic algebra and calculus senior school subject struggle with skills which are in the pre-senior curricula. Direct examination of the responses helps to understand where and why difficulties tend to occur. Rasch analysis is used to validate the questionnaire and assist in the description of levels of skill. General linear models demonstrate that a student's numeracy score depends on the result obtained in senior mathematics, whether or not the student is a mathematics student, gender, whether or not higher level mathematics has been studied, self-efficacy and year. The research indicates that either the pre-senior curricula need strengthening or that exposure to mathematics beyond the core senior course is required to establish confidence with basic skills particularly when applied to new contexts and multi- step situations. The Statistical Reasoning Questionnaire (SRQ) is developed for use in the Australian context at the secondary/tertiary interface. As with the Numeracy Questionnaire, detailed examination of the responses provides much insight into the range and features of statistical reasoning at this level. Rasch analyses, both dichotomous and polychotomous, are used to establish the appropriateness of this instrument as a measuring tool at this level. The polychotomous, Rasch partial credit model is also used to define a new approach to scoring a statistical reasoning instrument and enables development and application of a hierarchical model and measures levels of statistical reasoning appropriate at the school/tertiary interface. General linear models indicate that numeracy is a highly significant predictor of statistical reasoning allowing for all other variables including tertiary entrance score and students' backgrounds and self-efficacy. Further investigation demonstrates that this relationship is not limited to more difficult or overtly mathematical items on the SRQ. Performance on the end of semester component of assessment in the course is shown to depend on statistical reasoning at the beginning of semester as measured by the partial credit model, allowing for all other variables. Because of the dominance of the relationship between statistical reasoning (as measured by the SRQ) and numeracy on entry, some further analysis of the end of semester assessment is carried out. This includes noting the higher attrition rates for students with less mathematical backgrounds and lower numeracy.

Abstract:

För att uppmärksammas bland dagens stora utbud av videoklipp på Youtube skapar vloggare rubrik- och bildsättningar som innehåller clickbaits. Begreppet innebär att rubrik- och bildsättningar är av uppseendeväckande karaktär, innehåller lite information och enbart syftar till att locka mottagare att klicka sig in på videoklipp. Syftet med denna studie är därför att öka medvetenheten om hur clickbaits är utformade på Youtube. Studien bygger på en kvalitativ kritisk textanalys. Vi har studerat en av Sveriges största Youtube-kanaler där sammanlagt 22 av de populäraste videoklippen från 2017 studerats utifrån retoriken och semiotiken. Detta för att synliggöra vilka attribut clickbaitsen är utformade med. Därefter har 4 slumpmässigt utvalda videoklipp analyserats utifrån relevansteorin för att undersöka hur relevant clickbaitsen är för innehållet. Studiens resultat visar att sex, starka känslor, välvilja och personlighet är vanligt förekommande i utformningen av clickbaits på Youtube, där personligt varumärke visar sig vara av stor betydelse. Resultatet visar även att videoklippens rubrik- och bildsättningar till stor del inte är relevanta för innehållet. Studien diskuterar även att clickbaits är något som gynnar vloggarna eftersom det ger dem en hög klickfrekvens, men missgynnar oss mottagare eftersom vi tar del av information som många gånger inte är den mest relevanta.
To be noticed among today's large supply of video clips on Youtube, the creators are using both headline and thumbnails that contain clickbaits. The concept means that the headline and thumbnails are of a ostentatious character, they seldom contain information about the video you are about to watch. The clickbaits only purpose is to entice the watcher to click on videos. Therefore the purpose of this study is to raise awareness of how clickbaits are built up on Youtube. The study is built upon a qualitative critical text analysis. We have studied one of Sweden's largest Youtube-channels, where 22 of the channels most popular clips from 2017 have been studied through the rhetoric and semiotic. We want to make visible on which attributes the clickbaits are built upon. Subsequently has 4 randomly picked videoclips been analysed through the relevance theory to examine how relevant the clickbaits are for the actual content of the video. The studies result show that sexual content, strong emotions, goodwill and personality are common traits within clickbaits on Youtube, where the personal brand show to be of great meaning. The result also show that the headlines and thumbnails are not relevant to the content of the video. The study indicates that the use clickbaits benefits the creator because it gives them more views on their video. From the viewers point of view are they not beneficial, because the information that we receive from the clickbait is not the most relevant when you compare it to the actual content of the video.

Det finns en skulptur som har börjat formas i tanken, som jag tänker mig är en del av den här essän och en del av min examensutställning. Den finns ännu inte i fysisk form, men den har en stegrande lust att bli till. Ett tag till får den röra sig fritt som en vild häst. När tiden är rätt ska den stanna i en frusen position och tilldelas sin fysiska form.En skulptur är full av beslut. Från början till slut och från topp till tå finns beslut. Jag tänker på en skulptur som tar en varelses gestalt, och hur besluten avtecknar sig med ögats riktning i förhållande till vart stortån pekar, med mungipornas små nyanser som avslöjar en sinnesstämning och händernas gester som välkomnar, avvisar eller skyddar, med fördelningen av kroppsvikten på fötterna som låter mig förstå om den vilar eller är på språng, med huvudets hållning som visar om den ställer en fråga eller ger ett svar. Alla dessa beslut tas under arbetet med en skulptur, men så händer något – ett misstag. Det ena ögat hamnar en aning snett och skelande, den fasta blicken som skulle se rakt in i betraktarens ögon förvandlas till skör osäkerhet, den som får mig att ömma för skulpturen. Ett misstag blåser liv i tinget och blir plötsligt den viktigaste och mest värdefulla kvaliteten hos skulpturen.

Abstract:

In the first half of the 20th century, the researchers in the medical sciences in Sweden were dependent on funding from private foundations. Earlier research has shown that the foundation Stiftelsen Therese och Johan Anderssons Minne was a financier of great importance especially for the 1920s until the 1950s. This paper is written with the purpose of examining how the financing has changed over time, by analyzing the foundations yearly accounts from 1931 until 1963. I will show that physiologists and chemists took a dominant position in the fight for funds. In conclusion, it seems that the fact that the colleague of teachers at Karolinska had the power to decide who to fund were an important factor for the foundations activity. The characteristics of the medical research exercised by the researchers applying for funds were not the sole factor which affected the outcome.

Abstract:

Denna uppsats undersöker spänningen mellan frihet och trygghet respektive ensamhet och gemenskap som typiskt moderna erfarenheter i Therese Bohmans samtidsroman Aftonland (2016). Studien syftar till att relatera dessa teman till viss kritik av det moderna samhället genom sociologiska teorier om modernitet och individualism. Tillvägagångssättet för studien är en litteraturvetenskaplig analys med en hermeneutisk forskningsansats. De slutsatser som kan dras utifrån studiens resultat är att spänningen mellan frihet och trygghet kan kopplas till ensamhet, såväl självvald som ofrivillig. Det moderna samhällets frihetsbetoning och individers identitetsskapande som skildras i Aftonland kan resultera i en upplevelse av otrygghet och oro som kan härledas tillbaka till sökandet efter balans mellan frihet och trygghet. I detta resultat kan också en kritisk diskussion om individualism och frihet som moderna erfarenheter anas.

Abstract:

Holiness has fascinated, plagued and mystified the Church for nearly two millennia. One of the most significant controversies on this theme is the issue of cultural influence. With this in mind, I have selected two contemporary figures from very different cultural backgrounds for modem-d~y comparison and contrast in this matter: Therese of Lisieux and William J. Seymour. While both lived near the tum of the last century, they came from vastly dissimilar cultural milieus: Therese from the Republican Monarchist conflict of late nineteenth-century France and Seymour from the post-Civil War racism of American history. Yet, with all of their differences, each strove with utmost diligence to pursue a holy life. This thesis will demonstrate the elements of holiness that are supra-cultural by highlighting the commonalities of these two innovative thinkers and will also illustrate important elements of distinction between them. Both faced a critical cultural dilemma in their day - in America, racism; in France, class division - therefore it is essential to portray the manner in which each overcame, or attempted to overcome, his or her cultural hurdle. Despite societal limitations, they were nonetheless able to offer fresh insights on holiness in their respective settings. In addition, it will be demonstrated that a common historical element exists in the tradition of our key figures which stems from the influence of The Imitation o/Christ. It will be illustrated how the traditions of holiness described in this famous devotional by Thomas aKempis were, directly or indirectly, influential in the lives of these individuals. Consequently, one will be able to observe that the two greatest revival movements o fthe twentieth century share a familiar connection as regards holiness; namely, the writings of a fifteenth-century Roman Catholic monk. The influence of Thomas aKempis in combination with the cultural influences of Therese of Lisieux's and William J. Seymour's respective settings brings new insight to this vital subject.

They can create an irresistible desire or be the one thing that we want to get rid of the most at the end of a long day.

When people by shoes the chose more out of appearance rather then comfort. The result is a fact. The feet feel tired and soar after a couple of hours and the only thoughts are about the aching feet that firmly object to the way there being treated. Who will say no to a relaxing foot massage in this moment?

…Sometimes they seem to have shrunken after a couple of hours…

Does your legs feel heavy and swollen when you are sitting down for a couple of hours, maybe in front of the computer or during a flight? Do you have or are you starting to get visible veins alongside your legs? Do your feet often turn cold?

Then maybe you are one of the 40 % in Sweden who suffers from reduced circulation of the blood, a so called vein insufficiency.

This projects aims to find a solution that will ease the pain for a foot that feels tired and soar, beside this a solution that also increases the blood circulation in the legs during a longer time sitting down.

The work has been carried out according to the principles of DPD - Dynamic Product Development (Ottosson, 2002). The project started with an idea and resulted in a product that is ready for the market.

The project has resolved in two different solutions hence the problem was separated into two that would hopefully be introduced on the market shortly:

Solution one is a massage slipper Njuta (English = Enjoy) that easy and quickly eases the pain in the feet with an adjustable foot massage.

The tramp machine Cirkulera (English= Circulate) is used to keep the blood circulation going and prevent possible complaint. The solution activates the muscle pump so it can help to press the blood back up to the heart through the veins and this will prevent the blood from in slogging in the feet and legs.

Le thème de l'éducation est ensuite observé dans les textes du corpus : relevé, étude comparative, évolution sur la période de production littéraire de l'auteur, persistance de l'attachement à certains concepts et principes pédagogiques et situation dans le contexte pédagogique de l'époque. Enfin, les textes du corpus sont scrupuleusement analysés et toutes les occurrences ayant trait à la nature et au paysage qui ont été relevées et analysées, permettent des observations et des réflexions touchant au symbole, à la valeur littéraire des textes, à la persistance ou à l'évolution de certains, en conclusion et par recoupement, l'œuvre est replacée dans sa filiation avec les lumières rationalistes, bibliographie et source des illustrations
After a confrontation with the research and the critic, T. Huber's biography is developped in its greatest points. The work is studied under three aspects. The historical dimension comes first, with the analysis of the place and the part given to the french revolution in the novel «die familie seldorf». Then, the education is studied in the texts and the analysis of the references allows to situate the work in the pedagogical context of the 18th century. At least, all the references to nature and the landscapes in the texts are scrupulously listed and observed and it comes to conclusions and reflexions about the symbols, the evolution or persistance of several motifs or characters, the importance of nature, and the different parts accorded to it in t. Huber's literary universe. In conclusion, each part of the analysis allows to replace the work in the heritage of the rationalist tradition of the age of enlightenment

Si Anne-Thérèse de Lambert (1647-1733) est aujourd’hui méconnue en tant qu’autrice, c’est en raison d’une tradition historiographique qui a surévalué sa place de femme de salon au dépend de son activité littéraire. Pourtant, elle s’est efforcée, sa vie durant, à concilier, dans un respect des conventions, son statut d’aristocrate et de mondaine célèbre avec ses ambitions littéraires. Peu à peu, elle s’est construite une posture singulière de mondaine et d’intellectuelle qui lui a permis à la fois de détenir un certain pouvoir au sein des cercles de sociabilité et des différentes institutions et de façonner une pensée sur le monde. Elle médite sur la société qu’elle connaît bien, met en lumière les inégalités et remet en cause les habitudes et les préjugés qu’elle juge néfastes. Ce faisant, elle construit une morale, propre à donner à chacun et à chacune les moyens de vivre pour soi, de s’épanouir au sein du monde et d’être heureux. Plus qu’un perfectionnement des mœurs, elle cherche surtout à concevoir les possibilités d’un bonheur individuel et collectif. Elle exprime ainsi des idées progressistes qui se fondent sur une solide culture mais surtout se déploient au sein d’un contexte intellectuel stimulant, celui des décennies 1690-1730, qu’elle alimente en débattant et en échangeant toujours avec ses contemporains
If Anne-Thérèse de Lambert (1647 – 1733) is ignored nowadays as an author, it’s because of an historiographical tradition that overrated her rank as a society woman compared to her literary work. However, she endeavoured for a lifetime to reconcile her position as an aristocrat and and her literary ambitions, while respecting conventions. Little by little, she built herself a unique stance as a society woman and a scholar. This helped her to hold some power in the sociability networks and in various institutions and to build a way of seeing the world. She reflects on the society she knows well, highlights inequalities and questions habits and biases, that she believed are harmful. While doing that, she builds a moral that fosters everyone to live for themselves, to thrive in the world and to be happy. More than an improvement of values, she mostly tries to understand the possibilities of an individual and collective happiness. Therefore, she expresses progressive ideas that are based on a strong culture and that also deploy to a challenging intellectual context , in the 1690s-1730s, which she develops by always debating and discussing with her contemporaries

Syfte:Syftet med denna uppsats är att i rollen som specialpedagog undersöka och beskriva de uppfattningar ett antal pedagoger ur ett arbetslag har beträffande två elever med inagerande beteende samt att belysa ett för pedagogen tänkbart förhållningssätt till inagerande elever. Metod:För att synliggöra inagerande elevbeteenden används två fallbeskrivningar. Dessa baseras på halvstrukturerade intervjuer med sex pedagoger som under en treårsperiod arbetade med eleverna bakom fallbeskrivningarna. Resultat/Diskussion:Varje form av inagerande handlar i grund och botten om en obalans i interaktionen med andra. I skolan innebär ett inagerande beteende ett hinder för en god måluppfyllelse. Inagerandet är problematiskt även utanför skolan. Skolan måste bli bättre på att utveckla ”hela eleven”. Med stöd i Schibbyes relationsteori finns goda möjligheter för pedagogen att bli den tillerkännande pedagogen som ser och bemöter också den inagerande eleven.
