Abstract:
In the electricity systems, which have a large share of seasonal hydropower plants in the total production of electricity and do not have a developed structure of maneuvering power units running on organic fuels, it is necessary to use basic power plants to regulate the system capacity (load) on a daily basis. For the optimal solution of this task, the authors of the article have proposed a formula by which it is possible to estimate the monetary costs in different scenarios of power system management. It takes into account the pricing of electricity generated by imported and locally generated

Abstract:
Coal is the main fuel of thermal power plants (TPP), which provides more than 40% of electricity generation and about 25% of thermal energy in the world. Unlike renewable energy sources, thermal power plants supply consumers with energy around the clock and without interruption, regardless of the time of year. Expensive highly reactive fuel (fuel oil or natural gas) is burned to kindle pulverized coal boilers of thermal power plants. The burning of heating oil leads to an increase in harmful emissions into the atmosphere and initiates the search for alternative solutions for fuel-free kindling

Abstract:
Thermal power stations emit significant amounts of fly ash and ultra fine particles into the atmosphere. Electrostatic precipitators (ESP) or electro filters remove flying ashes and fine particles from the flue gas before passing the gas into the chimney. Maximum allowable value of dust is 50 mg/m3 and it requires that the efficiency of the ESPs better than 99 %, which calls for an increase of active surface of the electrodes, hence increasing the filter volume and the weight of steel used for the filter. In previous decades, electrostatic precipitators in thermal power plants were fed by thyr
