Abstract:
Electro-optical properties of thin film are of great interest owing to the perpetual demand for miniaturization and higher speed devices for communication, electronic, and biomedical applications. The thickness of polymer films developed for these applications has decreased dramatically making interfacial effects significant. It is well documented that, in submicron thickness range, both film/substrate & film/air interface are critical. In this study, we probe the dynamics of electro-optical polymer thin films in the sub-micron thickness regime to understand interfacial effects. The polyme

Abstract:
In recent years, portable devices and larger display are the trend of market, so transparent conducting oxides (TCO) draw a considerable interest due to their unique characteristics and essential role in the technology of flat panel display. Indium tin oxide (ITO) is one of the most widely used TCO in the application of display technology. In this work, properties of ITO thin film as a function of dopant ratio and density of sputtering targets had been done. It is found that the mechanism of oxygen vaccines is more dominated in electrical conduction than dopant concentration. Meanwhile, the co

Abstract:
This thesis is concerned with the growth, electronic properties and modification of hydrogenated amorphous carbon films of a thickess range of 50-300 nm, which have been deposited using rf plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition. These films may be subdivided into two types according to the electrode on which they are grown and the resulting film properties. These are polymer-like amorphous carbon or PAC, and diamond-like amorphous carbon or DAC. PAC possesses a wide optical band gap (2.7 eV), high resistivity (1014 - 10 15 Ocm) and low density of paramagnetic defects (~ 10 17 spins cm-3).
