The article deals with the faunal diversity of the crab spiders (Thomisidae: Araneomorphae: Araneae: Arachnida) in different states of India and the union territories. A total of 210 species belonging to 44 genera of Thomisidae was recorded in all states and the union territories of India except for Nagaland and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, out of which 143 species (68.4%) were strictly endemic. However, among them, 6 species seem to be the case of erroneous report or misidentification. Two genera of crab spiders are highly speciose, e.g. Thomisus Walckenaer, 1805 (53 species)

I contend that the classical approach of Thomists to internecine Thomist debates about the requirements for initiating the enquiries of natural philosophy and metaphysics generates an epistemological crisis which this classical approach cannot overcome on its own terms. Furthermore, the failure of this classical approach to resolve these intractable debates has all too often distracted and stymied Thomists from contributing to the real enquiries of philosophy of nature. This explains, in part, why the most cogent and influential defenders of a return to Aristotelian ideas concerning nature and

The genus Coenypha Simon, 1895 is composed of species distributed on the Southern Andean Region and Patagonia, and presents remarkable somatic morphologies, such as the flattened habitus, enlarged femora I, and a wide opisthosoma. Molecular and morphology-based phylogenies have revealed the close relationship of this genus with sympatric species previously assigned to Stephanopis O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1869. Our recent cladistic analysis extended such preliminary results in recovering numerous morphological characters as synapomorphies of a well-supported clade, thus justifying the transfer of

Plants communicate simultaneously with both the insects and the spiders via floral olfactory (scent), visual (color, shape), or tactile (texture) signals. In Europe, the pollinators and other insect visitors to orchid flowers arouse interest of third-parties, animal that belongs to a different trophic level — the pollinators’ predators. In the temperate zone, the most common predators, which temporarily reside on orchid inflorescences, are various families of spiders (Araneae). Among these, the most common pollinators’ predators are the crab spiders of the family Thomisidae,

The secondary literature on Protestant scholasticism has undergone a seismic shift in recent years as scholars have moved away from the ‘Calvin against the Calvinists’ approach towards an approach that recognizes the importance of Reformed orthodox figures in their own context. One such figure is John Owen, who in his scholastic training at Oxford was exposed to the thought of Thomas Aquinas and the school of Thomism. Owen’s writings demonstrate a profound proficiency in Thomistic thought from his earliest writings until shortly before his death. Owen first of all demonstrates his debt to the

Abstract:
The basis of human nature according to Dante is natural inclination, love to good (Aristotelianism, Thomism). God is the highest blessing but some souls are deceived and choose to love the created world, such love can be broken and become a false love, a sin when either the measure or the choice of worthful goal the object of this love is violated. Thus it becomes a transgression punished in Purgatory or a sin punished in Hell. The crucial thing in person's life is a vision of God. In this respect Dante is a Thomist. The problems of happiness in the theological and philosophical heritage of the outstanding medieval scientist St. Thomas Aquinas are considered. The main source and basis of happiness according to Thomism is the Lord God himself. Happiness cannot be fully comprehended in the material world, in wealth, in intellectual knowledge. Human happiness does not consist in honors, in human glory, strength, goodness and pleasures of the body. Happiness is realized in human virtue. Happiness does not consist in human feelings, but it is revealed in thoughts about God. Man will experience perfect happiness
