In its development, air transport is obliged to take into account guidelines related to its sustainability. An important element thereof consists of making sure that the working conditions for all the workers employed in this sector are safe and healthy. The aim of this research was to analyze the relationship between the attitude towards safety and the perceived feeling of threat in the workplace among respondents belonging to the airport ground staff occupational group. However, school shootings are not the only physical safety threat students may encounter at school. Other types of violence include sexual assault, robbery, physical attack or fights, and threats of physical attack (with or without a weapon). In addition to immediate physical harms, school violence can have long-lasting effects that undermine students’ engagement and mental health. It can also increase drug use and risk of suicide. This report offers a multi-sector response to the Online Safety Bill (OSB). The shape and content of the OSB has generated discussion amongst policy specialists, stakeholders and lobbyists in key services and sectors, political advisors and appointed representatives, and academics and researchers – as well as a general public interested in what the OSB will mean for people made vulnerable or at risk of harms online. We report on the discussions that took place in four co-production workshops with representatives from the areas of: intimate digital health tools and services marketed to those wh

Safety and security of United Nations (UN) peacekeepers is a ‘top priority’ for the UN and has been made a focus-area of the Action for Peacekeeping (A4P) initiative. Risk stemming from the threat of deliberate acts of violence against peacekeeping personnel, in particular, has come into focus. Many aspects related to violence against UN peacekeepers remain poorly understood even though they matter for safeguarding effective operations and mandate implementation. Recent years’ advances to protect UN peacekeepers from harm have heavily focused on improving their access to training and equipment

Abstract:
This report documents the verification and validation (of the probabilistic models developed previously to predict internal corrosion (IC) threats in nominally dry natural gas pipelines. Model uncertainty quantification showed that "low temperature, high pressure" posed the greatest IC threat. To validate the model, actual measurements were compared to model-predicted wall loss. The comparison included information from an IC failure, investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), with in-line inspection (ILI) data sets from five pipeline operators. Two of the pipeline operato

This conference discusses the responsibility of media when reporting on crime and the hidden purposes coverage may pursue. The interpretation of crime phenomenon by the press has become a two-edged sword for policymakers and the public. The return to democratic rule throughout the region has meant journalists can report on an endless number of topics extensively; dictatorships frequently were able to suppress the unwelcome news of social turmoil, such as crime, through censorship. However, the "cronica roja"--gripping bloodsoaked true crime tales--carried by many newspapers and magazines can a
